#i have hearing loss and auditory processing difficulties and my thoughts have subtitles
Text
i’m curious if there’s a link here, please tell me in the tags if your inner monologue has subtitles, whether or not you have a hearing or auditory processing disability, and whether or not you learned to read early and read a lot as a kid
(by subtitles i mean that you automatically visualize the written form of the words you are thinking. the way this actually happens can be anywhere from the written form of the words just popping into your head to an actual subtitle-looking area. the only criteria are that 1. you visualize the written form of most or all words 2. it is completely automatic and happens without trying or thinking about it)

a thank you message

hi everyone yes hello this is my voice I apologize that there is no punctuation this speech-to-text but I have at the moment it's not as much as I would love to get my hands on another version of that but I wanted to take a moment and say thank you to the community at large because there is one huge difference that exists here and almost to nowhere else I've never the kinds of inclusive experience but I'm having here on this platform right now because of the community because of of all of you I am Hard of Hearing this is not something that that people can see it's not something that a lot of people tend to think about and especially that is the case when there's native a native English speaker having trouble deciphering English just a regular conversation or a clip from a show and needing subtitles because I can't ask media hey can you hold on and can you say that much more slowly because my hearing difficulty isn't simple as loss of hearing there is loss of hearing especially high frequency and that's always been the case but I also have something known as Central Auditory Processing Disorder this is something I have also always had and essentially it means that my brain doesn't like to to work consistently translating what I what I hear what comes through into recognizable words and I don't usually expect for there to be transcripts I don't not on a a primarily social sharing platform and I've never had the confidence to ask for someone as casual a manner to possibly be thought of to transcript something for me that has no real importance whatsoever but makes a scene of an anime accessible in a way that it hadn't been before until yesterday because I have consistently all over the place in so many different posts transcripts image descriptions and detailed image descriptions not just cop-outs and they seem like they're really small things for a lot of people but they make a real difference for people like me who who without them are unable to have an equal experience unable to receive the same message shared without so so I wanted to say thank you because it really does make a difference
