a/n: yes fo4 in the lords year of 2023 bc i clearly havent gotten over this man in 8 years! 😀

danse is an incredibly layered character - it would take him particularly long to develop feelings for someone and even longer for him to actually realize he's falling in love

obviously, he's terrified of losing you - or worse, scaring you away - so he wouldn't ever be the one to make a move, no matter how much the emotions in his stomach threaten to boil over

so when you finally pick up on it - it's actually not that difficult, he's kind of obvious - he'd be so, so relieved at you taking the lead

when your feelings are out in the open and he grows used to the change in relationship, there's a lot of inconspicuous flirting and delicate teasing

he finds out that he really, really likes kissing you (it's even better in reality than what he dreamed it would be)

whenever your lips find his and your hands his chin and neck, his heart feels like it's melting in his chest

even though his hands are rough, all his touches are so, so soft, so loving - a stark contrast to the image of the soldier he used to be

he handles you like a piece of fine china, afraid you could break and leave him behind all by himself
