Some if y'all look really silly when you call religious subsets a cult. Just say you hate their religious practices and go.

#i know I've probably hurt some mormon feelings by reblogging that cult post so to be clear: i did that because of what i know #about the way the hierarchy works and the way they treat members who try to leave #for instance: catholicism is often called a cult or cultish because of its practices but as far as i know they dont keep your info on file #so that they can hunt you down when you try to leave #and the churches that do are not representative of the religion at large #as far as i know the way the mormon church treats their members is normative for the entire religion #it'd be great to be wrong because i know a lot of mormons are nice people who want the best for everyone but I've seen it from more than on #source #it's not exhaustive and I'll be relieved if I'm wrong but I'm gonna be skeptical at first #so i do know both sides of it #this is one of them #you not understanding why someone else would want to lead a youth group in that way is not a sign that you almost got sucked into a cult! #yes this is about a popular blogger who would just treat me with scorn if i tried to address their MISCONCEPTION #you don't know what you're talking about you're just closed minded #i mean it's about more than one thing but #toxic religious beliefs do not a cult make #there's a structure and a threat to it
