Don’t discount the hits either like….I don’t care what you think as long as it’s about me… someday I’ll appreciate in value…I wrote the gospel on giving up (you look pretty sinking) but the real bombshells have already sunk (primadonnas of the gutter). My childhood spat back the monster that you see. I read about the afterlife but never really lived more than an hour…drop a heart and break a name. I keep myself this sick in the head cause I know how the words get you (off). I only want sympathy in the form of you crawling into bed with me. They say your head could be your prison, then these are just conjugal visits. I set my clocks early cause I know I’m always late. I slept in last night’s clothes and tomorrow’s dreams. I’m a liner away from getting you into the mood. Mummified my teenage dreams. Try to say live, live and let live but I’m no good at lip service except when they’re yours. My head is stripped like a screw that’s been tightened too many times. My heart is like a stallion, they love it more when it’s broken.

pete is my favorite lyricist hes rly the best idc what anyone says hes so fucking good and clever. like i am a writer have won competitions and shit but could never even almost come up with the shit he does HES SO SMART AND CLEVER its so sexy
its so cringe and inherently embarrassing but ya. i feel like theres a separate faction of fob fans that are more in it for the writing and journals and the history and old zines and stuff, like thats what got me into fall out boy and why hey chris ran one of the most successful indie publishing companies in chicago before he got into nonprofit. i majored in english and won writing awards and got outstanding work in the department when i graduated too. pete doesnt even consider himself a bass player, the band is just a mouthpiece and his pulpit
i feel like thats applicable to patd and mcr too, like gerard is a good lyricist too and is not super musical, like he was a cartoonist and does screenwriting and comics. and ryan ross isnt either. like theyre storytellers/poets first and musicians second. gerard is backed by frank and ray who are crazy music muscle and pete has patrick synesthesia genius. but part of why i think critics hated fever and kids loved it was because it was more about the words and the performance and the costumes than the music, like they were young so the structure is very basic, but songs like lying is the most fun are almost almost spoken word except for the chorus. and with build god the words are literally overlapping and slurred and crammed in to fit. and there are cool music parts too like the strings but yeah
