Your headcanons for Kimberly?

big ass inhale cause she’s one of my faves!

- okay so she’s totally in love with clear. like straight up in love with her. i am a kimclear truther until i DIE!!

- she totally has younger cousins that she loves. the kids she likes to give piggyback rides to and buys sick presents for every birthday and christmas (if they celebrate)

- she totally likes bedroom pop as a genre, but leans wayyy more toward indie and rock when it comes to certain genres. in the movie she listens to the sounds, so that’s def her fave band.

- she’s a big gamer, but will only play fun games like animal crossing and stardew valley. she will make exceptions for banger games such as dont starve and any other survival types

- she loves (and i mean LOVES) horror comedies. scary movie, happy death day and cooties reign supreme on her letterboxd

- she def wears flowy skirts and tights a lot. sorta like fairy grunge but more blue??? blue is her color, totally

- she likes to braid one side of her hair and turn it into a little crown, it’s adorable

- has a little journal FILLED with conspiracy theories and shit. it’s decorated pretty tho.

- likes to paint

- collects weird memorabilia, like fake skulls, paper spiders and little silver tokens and stuff

- when she goes to the beach she ALWAYS takes as many shells as she can. when she was younger she would say it was because she didn’t want the other shells to be sad

- likes to read, but won’t do it if she doesn’t need to because she def can’t focus on large ass books

- favorite flower is a blue orchid. i fully believe she is obsessed with the color blue. like obsessed. blues, browns, muted greens and white pretty much make her wardrobe!

- best class is def science and math. she’s a big ass nerd. (also, kimclear brain is saying that clear is the english/history side of the relationship)

- can skateboard, but prefers to rollerblade cause it “looks cooler”

- you guys saw her room. she def shops at thrift stores, grime, and spencer’s without a second thought.

- can never keep her nails long enough to paint. she has awful anxiety

- hates driving. for like, obv reasons, but hates driving cause it’s terrifying for her.

- prefers cats to dogs. you cant tell me otherwise. big cat person

I really love thinking about an AU where the FD1 alternate ending that had Clear give birth to a dead Alex's son is right, and she's a young mother in FD2, and death does skip her because she's brought new life into the world, and she's the one that survives with Kimberly, and the two of them raise Alex Jr together as girlfriends!!

What is Rory like sober?

Evan: Hes basically just normal Rory but a little boring.

Tim: I don't think I've ever really seen Rory sober before. I'd imagine he'd be a little less...weird? I don't know.

Nora: Rory's very lovely when hes sober and I wish he was like that more often.

Kat: I hate him either way but I guess I can tolerate him more when hes sober.

Eugene: He literally acts the exact same. Maybe hes been addicted for so long that hes high no matter what. Or hes just a natural dumbass.

Clear: Hes fine and actually pretty helpful.

Kimberly: Even though Rory is entertaining when hes out of it, hes more bearable to be around when hes sober.

Burke: When hes sober, Rory is actually a pretty chill guy. Still not very responsible, but its still better than finding him passed out somewhere.

fd1 is called the avion region (french for airplane)

alex is a cleric, clear is a mage, tod is an apothecary, carter is a hunter, billy is a knight, terry is a dancer, and valerie is scholar

the storyline goes, they have to find a gem in all the regions that will reunite all magic and defeat this guy called deces

alex, clear, and tod are a poly couple

billy and carter are a couple

alex has a cat familiar named destiny

fd2 is called the entasser region (french for pile up)

kim and burke are knights, eugene is a scholar, rory is a thief, kat is a cleric, clear is a savior, tim and nora are hunters, and evan is a merchant

same storyline, except alex pops in, stabs rory, and steals the feu gem

no couples, but kat mentions a girlfriend

kim has a butterfly familiar named angel

fd3 is called the rouleau region (french for roller)

wendy and julie are merchants, kevin is a knight, ashley and ashlyn are dancers, frankie is a thief, ian and erin are apothecaries, and lewis is a hunter

same storyline, but kim and burke help them out

all canon couples are couples here

wendy has an owl familiar named rosa

fd4 is called the degager region (french for clear)

ikikik, but i love this movie BECAUSE its awful

nick is an apothecary, lori is a merchant, janet is a hunter, hunt is a thief, george is a scholar, and andy is a knight

this storyline is a bit different, basically this region went to shit after their princess (clear) disappeared and they have basically no magic and are now ruled by that guy named deces

FD5 is called the Pont region (French for Bridge)

Nathan is a dancer, Molly is a cleric, Sam is a baker, Peter is a ranger, Dennis is a merchant, Olivia is a bard, Issac is a serf and Candice is a knight.

Olivia is the only bard in existence with an ability to shut the fuck up.

Sam and Molly are dating for the first half of things, and eventually break up to date Peter and Olivia.

Candice has been a knight ever since she was 14.

Peter burned the place Issac was bound to, he told me himself.

Sam has a dragonfly familiar named Jasper.

After visiting the MoCA, I was overcome with so much inspiration after seeing Jamea Richmond-Edwards: "Ancient Future" and her use of acrylic to create maximalist paintings. The painting "Lullaby for a Shooting Star" features a dragon adorned by various shapes and color variations that inspired my painting "Tiger Lilies." It was fun experimenting with vivid colors and one day I aspire to add fabrics and textures to my paintings.

15. Mid-Term

The process of making a head-to-toe self portrait of myself was a challenging one. Looking at myself in the mirror as I examined my bone structure, the way my eyes are hooded, eyebrows are uneven and slightly crooked nose towards the bridge made me fall in love with myself through the understanding that every human is built uniquely so. I decided to incorporate my cat in this portrait since I strongly believe anyone that truly knows me, knows my cat. The flowers in the background represent my beginnings in art, since I was little I would find an interest i the way flower petals fold and their intricate insides. Im wearing a black dress, I own my fair share of dresses but rarely seen wearing them thereforeI wanted to portray myself as the femme figure I rarely show. Lastly, my cat socks, which further explains my cat-obsessed brain, I carry a piece of Nina, my cat, everywhere I go.

16. Final

Exploring acrylics for the first time, I incorporated bright colors in this painting to provide a warm, at-home-feeling of intimacy felt by two people living with their cats. There is a black cat in the background interacting with the brown skin figure, an orange cat in a closer distance resting on the floor next to a lighter-skin toned figure who's sitting on a chair replicating the one from my home which I often sit on drinking my morning coffee as my cat takes her first nap of the day. Lastly, my last figure is a gray tabby cat with yellow-green toned eyes which represents my own cat, the way the feline tilts its head reminds me of Nina's (my cat) child-like wonder and the "curious cat" stereotype. My overall experience with this piece was to push myself to try new things and be bale to bring familiarity towards strange territory.

Artist Statement

A material I adored throughout this semester has been the soft charcoal vines, I had a lot of fun being able to create shapes and modify them without the commitment of strict line-work. My favorite assignment had got to be the self portrait because I had never been challenged enough to pushed through a life-sized drawing of myself. I believed to have grown as an artist and no longer fear big projects. Some obstacles I faced this semester was relying on reality rather than letting my brain wonder on the shape of the head or legs. I was able to overcome this problem through practicing in my sketchbook the devision of the human symmetry and being able to recognize all sections in which the body is divided into.

FIGURE DRAWING CLASS (FD1 & FD2) - Midterm Prep . 2/14/2024

Happy Valentine’s Day or Happy International Day of Love.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

MONDAY IS PRESIDENTS DAY, IT’S A SCHOOL HOLIDAY.

I WILL SEE ALL OF YOU ON WEDS .

ASSIGNMENT FOR TODAY, read more below:

Students will be doing in class research regarding the midterm beginning this weekend.

The midterm requires that you use the self as a model.

You will create a self portrait using the mirror as your reference.

You will NOT use a photo as a reference, only to block in the pose if you are doing a full body portrait.

The mirror offers the artist a more dimensional way of studying the self.

This assignment will require that you develop this drawing gradually through various sessions for a total of 35 -40 hours.

You will be use graphite pencils on Bristol paper 18 x 24 inches.

For students who are doing a full body self portrait, I will provide the paper for you on Weds of next week.

In addition to developing the self from the mirror, you will need to develop an allegorical theme to enhance the message of your portrait.

I have added a link below that talks more about Allegory in Art and painting.

Read below as you start your research.

In addition to the reading mentioned above, you will also watch a couple of videos.

There are three videos I would like you to look at.

Watch those during your class time, and take notes in your sketchbook regarding what you have learned from them.

These videos provide information regarding ways to properly develop features of the face and how to reference the mirror as your guide.

Start from the bottom and make your way to the top.

Use the top video titled face and head proportions as the platform to practice a self portrait using the mirror.

Watch the video then apply the knowledge you have acquired to do your class assignment.

You will do practice drawings today as you plan your portrait.

Do not draw bigger or smaller than an actual real life dimensions. Make sure you include shoulders all the way to below the chest.

Spend at least two hours of class time to see how much you can improve your image.

This is just a preliminary practice for your midterm. I will give additional instructions and information regarding the due date on Wednesday.

Students doing a full body self portrait, use this weekend to block in the pose in two sheets of newsprint paper. This is just a study of blocking in image to plan for the actual portrait next week.

Post all work completed today by sunday in your portfolio (tumblr).

FD2 class reflective blog

After watching the different videos, it further solidifies the fat that every artist has a different process. For example, when Kooning paints he works very fast as though he is free handing the process. He also sticks has a general style in which he paints women in various forms. As for Neel, sha captures people in real world moments and settings. Her work captures the emotion behind the face. What impressed me the most was the consistency in their art. They know what their style is and they stick to it.Although both artist are amazing and I love abstract art, my favorite was Neel's work. She was able to do a live figure painting (something I strive to get good at) and capture true emotions on canvas.

Evan: I genuinely don't really care about him. I mean, I don't hate him but I don't like him either.

Tim: Hes the best :D!

Nora: Obviously I love him :).

Kat: Hes a nuisance. But Nora is a good friend of mine so I deal with him.

Rory: Hes cooler than most kids his age. We smoke together sometimes.

Eugene: Hes annoying.

Clear: I mean, I don't really hang out with him but he seems like a good kid minus the annoyances.

Kimberly: I like Tim! I don't hang out with him but I still consider him a friend.

definitely my favorite of the final destination movies! i also read the novelization and it was super bad lol but also a super quick, fun, low brain power read
