HIStory 3: Trapped Appreciation Week - Day 7

(free day) General Trapped Appreciation ~

so i thought i’d end trapped appreciation week with a drawing inspired by the artist aubrey beardsley’s prints (there’s some kinda explicit ones which are hilarious btw but there’s also a lot of really beautiful ones based on stories/myths/folktales/etc), 

and also this beautiful fanfic called ‘you were here, winter is gone’, which is based in ancient china where shao fei is the emperor & tang yi is his childhood friend & the army general... it’s so well written & as soon as i read it i knew i had to draw something based on it!!

((there’s also several trapped-related symbols on their clothes if u can spot them lol...))

i mainly wanted to share this in trapped appreciation week because trapped has unleashed a new level of creativity in me which i’ve felt kinda lacking over the first half of this year... i can’t really explain why, but every time i go to draw something now i have the strongest urge just to draw trapped artwork and have to physically tear myself away from google searching for references lol... & i can’t see myself stopping anytime soon ngl lol

it’s also so amazing to be a part of such an amazing fandom! i’ve been on tumblr for 7+ years (aka too long) & have seen many fandoms come and go, & i gotta say trapped nation is one of the most fun communities i’ve had the pleasure of making mediocre fanart & essay-length rant tags for on tumblr in all that time! so thank you to all the incredible gif makers, writers, artists, meme-makers, video editors, etc etc who’ve made this week (& the past few months) so enjoyable!

so even if this is the end of trapped week (biggest thanks again to @florbexter for coming up with it btw!!!), the trapped way of life never ends lol :’’’)
