What is the difference between Jason's in terms of sex? I mean... You said in a post that each Jason is different, can you please give us an example of the differences?

i hc that ak!jason is less vocal, very careful, starts off more gentle when it comes to sex and is also less experienced. he doesn’t like anything slightly in relation to pain, even things like hair pulling or just verbal degradation. Sex for him is showing trust and devotion to his partner. He can totally get rough though!! Like fucking you against a wall while your head rocks against it every now and then rough. He’s very attentive and a total pleasure dom, never completely subs/wont completely sub. Massive praise kink. Sex drive is definitely not as high as comic!jasons.

comic!jason is more bold and vocal, hes still just as attentive but he’s a lot more sexually experienced. I also hc that he’s not into pain but i mean like super painful stuff, not bc of his trauma just not a turn on for him. I think comic!jay would be fine with hair pulling and maybe light spanking, but again nothin over the top. Sex for comic!jason is just sex, it could be showing emotional intimacy like his love for someone he cares about, but isn’t always. Unless your in a relationship then he’ll always be at your fingertips showing his devotion to you. He’s totally a switch!! ill die on this hill!!

Gally1 2017 tidbits: 

Lalla Ward is a delight. Meeting her was the highlight of the whole thing for me. 

Barnaby Edwards and Nick Pegg are lovely. 

Jason Haigh-Ellery wants more Dorian Gray. Scott Handcock isn’t sure yet. The answer is maybe. 

Katy Manning dated Jimi Hendrix. She casually mentioned this in a panel about David Bowie, who was apparently considered for the role of the Master for the TV movie. I knew neither of these things before. 

Paul Cornell organized a big ruse about how fans absolutely hated The Mind Robber to the extent of burning DVDs in bonfires. I fell for it and was like whaaat how did I not know this??? (It’s in a podcast which, presumably, Paul will soon release.) 

June Hudson wants a cabin in the woods with one wall made of glass, through which she can observe woodland creatures. She also wants a house over a body of water, and there’ll be a glass floor through which she’d be able to see fish and such. 

Daphne Ashbrook said that they’re working on sound for the last few scenes in her film project, Once More With Feeling. (There was a fundraising thing for this a while back.) 

Louise Jameson is lovely, Philip Hinchcliffe and John Leeson are interesting to chat with, Rachael Stott is funny, etc. Lots of people were nice, and it was a fab weekend. 

Rambling:

I’m at LAX at an ungodly hour, because my flight is at 6 bloody 40 a.m. Please excuse the randomness in this post. 

There was an auction to raise money for Denville Hall, of which Lalla is the chairperson of the board of trustees. A few times she did a little dance after items sold for good amounts. She auctioned off a couple of quilts that she had made; I think they went for $1600 and $1000. Tony Lee auctioned off some comics and committed to write and draw the winning bidder into something he’s currently working on. This would’ve been cool, but it went for like $1200, which unfortunately was beyond my budget. I think I spent £350 on this thing which was auctioned off two years ago for DAVSS, of which Louise is the patron. Sadly, it’s a bit imprudent for me to spend much more than that. 

Nick Briggs played a game of two lies, one truth. In one round, he was trapped in an elaborate lie about being a blacksmith. He had to field so many questions about “blacksmithery” hehehe 

I need to sleep. 

I went to a panel about fans going pro and another panel about writing in someone else’s universe, both with panellists such as Gary Russell, Scott Handcock et al. Some of you may remember that at some point in the last two years, I said I was gonna try to write and sell fiction. (I write about speculative stocks for a living.) I’d still love to take a stab at fiction and I’ll really try to submit something to the BF writing competition every year, but I recently decided to try to get into grad school and I feel like this decision supersedes the fiction-writing one at the moment. I really, really wish I had more time to write fic because I enjoy that a lot, but I’m taking classes right now as well as working full-time. What I’m saying is I know that writing (fiction) requires commitment which, when it comes down to it, I seem to just never make. Please read my Scherzo rewrite which Rob Shearman complimented and my Modern Major-General rewrite which Matt Fitton complimented. They’re both in this tag. I’ve probably peaked. (One should also not have the goal of writing (fiction) just for Doctor Who. That’s not how it works.)

How different are Comic! Jason and AK! Jason when it comes to their personality?

Comic!Jason is … Comic!Jason. A lot of his internal conflicts won’t pour out into the real world as much as Ak!Jasons does. He has his depressive/derealization episodes but he also is able to get out of them when it gets too bad. He’s better at figuring out maintaining his emotions but still needs emotion guidance. He’s a lot more direct with his emotions with someone he trust. Comic!Jasons biggest issue is his self-destructive tendency. He has little care for any pain inflicted on himself, and barely cares for his own needs. He can also be super hard-headed, its hard to break him out of habits. He needs someone to ground him and set his head straight. Comic!Jason has a hard time trusting but is still a softie. He’s a lot more bold in a relationship and when he opens up hes like a funny little social butterfly, hes very attentive and a natural care-taker. A nerd who likes to get drunk and read you old romantic poetry. A nerd who rides you on the outskirts of gotham and yap about literally anything. A nerd who hasn’t touched a video game since he was 15 so absolutely sucks ass at mario kart. CERTIFIED LOVER BOY ALERT 🚨 ‼️

Ak!Jason is.. ak!jason. A buttload of his issues come from his traumas. He doesn’t know how to express himself without getting extremely frustrated either at himself or whatever his mental gymnastics have him believe. He’s very bad at maintaining his own emotions and needs a fuckton of emotional guidance. MASSIVE TRUST ISSUES. He’s very indirect and often isolates himself if under too much emotional pressure. Ak!Jason has a bunch of insecurities, not just is body but more so of his mind, he always has conditioned himself to be winning in some sort of way so he takes a lot of negative things very harshly. He also has high fluctuating emotions, lots of emotional meltdowns, and is extremely paranoid. Ak!Jason is a lot harder to be in a relationship with… my high maintenance wife… He again, doesn’t trust easily, and takes him literal years to have trust in someone. BUT he’s still but a boy at heart, he likes going to arcades, eating fast-food at 3am, he likes the mundane, starts craving it after awhile. If you know how to handle him, he’s an extensive high-rewarding lover to have. ak!jason who learns how to live a lovely little life >>

What are your thoughts on Jason from Three Jokers?

particularly for me, his emotional dependence is so big just because he confused things with the Barbara

tldr; i ramble a little abt how i hate modern Jason fucking Todd and highlight how much justice this comic did for him

and how modern writers are just trying to turn him into a batfam insert of deadpool

Yes! I dont think Jason had 100% feelings for Babs, like he said, he thought it could work. It definitely came from a moment of weakness/vulnerability, its often that Jason doesn’t get cared for too often, not in the way he needs. So when Babs let out a hand for him, it hit him HARD. Especially with just being traumatized by the last two jokers, I think its pretty obvious he doesn’t need someone to clean up/watch after him but like need someone to generally emotionally guide him.

my personal pet peeve with most modern Jason Todd canon ships is the laziness of it(b4 i get criticized i think ANY ship with ANY CHARACTERS can be good as long as the writings GOOD and makes SENSE) . GOD NO- i dont ship jason and babs, but they still put an odd amount of effort into it, to at the very least actually flesh out their characters.

Jason doesn’t need a character that fixes his mistakes when he’s overly impulsive, or babies him, or fixes his mistakes with a veil of ‘Your so dumb but i secretly care about you!‘ because then it leads to most of lazy writing where he does something stupid but his gf is here to fix it! so its ok! NO!! HES NOT LEARNING ANYTHING!! YOURE MAKING HIM LOOK STUPID AND MENTALLY BRAIN DEAD!! anyways sorry.

Jason needs someone to break him out of his cycle of impulsiveness and self-destruction, not have him indulge in it.Jason needs to go fucking soul-searching or something im so tired of his ass— REALISTICALLY I COULDN’T DATE COMIC!JASON IF HE DIDNT CHANGE,, HE WOULD FRUSTRATE ME RLLY BAD.

ahem. anyways. I think Jasons note shows a lot about his character and something that the modern writers ignore a lot. Jason CAN change, he just needs a reason, a solid reason to. He doesn’t have to put down his code, or the guns, he just needs someone solid to really make him think about himself. “All I need is one chance to you I can be better. And I will devote my life to making you proud. Happy. Loved.” WHERE IS THIS SWEETHEART RN?? I SWEAR EVERY OTHER WRITER IS MAKING HIM A EMO FUCK-BOY WHOS BRAIN MATTER GOT SUCKED OUT THROUGH HIS COCK?? ahem sorry.

I really love how much DC actually puts details into Jason in this comic. Ex. Jasons helmets abilities being highlighted, “Helmets registering multiple security doors opening across the facility.” OR him saying the chronic pain management book was helpful. SORRY— I REALLY ENJOY DETAILS LIKE THIS. It just makes Jasons technical skill and such more obvious then whats normally stated. Also Jason tracking sea water off a wrench to the Aquarium— where is this skill in more modern comics?? I swear they make Jason a braindead wannabe deadpool sometimes i swear to fucking god. Also him shooting the shark tank so it eats Gaggy— I DIE FOR DETAILS LIKE THIS.

They don’t even get rid of his humor in 3 jokers either, he still has a really well displayed personality and his banter with Batman is really bearable for once, it makes sense and its well written. I slightly dislike how hard Babs is being on Jason but i’m not 100% sure what Babs is like. I haven’t read comics centered around her, so I don’t mind it. Also dont mistake this for me disliking babs for rejecting Jay— thats not what i mean at all. Just her constantly saying how he’s a criminal and focusing on getting him in prison like he’s an opp was confusing 2 me..

This thought randomly came to me but where do you think Jason gets money from? And not just ak!Jason but any version of Jason. I just can’t see him doing part time jobs lol

as much as i love ak!jason or just any jason having a part-time job on some regular show shit except its a shitty little gas station he works at. he stole money from bruce to feed his militia and also picked up crime related jobs. comic!jason canonically steals money from gangs or gets it from the gangs he runs, hes rich as shit from it too😭😭. he’s also loaded from his crime lord era.
