#i would just get something from an armorer but the way mal tends to sit means it would need to extend further down the back and chest

Is your face ok? Flying cats and phones hurt
yeah I'm fine, the noise was mostly because she managed to get me in the mouth and also I was wearing a tank top, so lots of claw-to-skin contact.
No bloodshed. This time.
Also, you know how when you meet a person who has the same name as you and you immediately have to mentally determine which of you would win in a fight to the death, either physically or psychologically? For the first time in my life I met a potentially Superior Hell. This was a couple weeks ago now, and Potentially Superior Hell has sent tribute in the form of several entire cowhides, which I assume is so that we can be friends forever instead of eternal nemeses. Either would be lovely, honestly.
I think I'm gonna need to take some of that leather and work on making some kind of shoulder armor so Malice doesn't maul my left arm entirely off. Her balance is not always to be trusted.

At First Sight
It’s been a while since I’ve posted one of these blurbs, and I really liked this one. It’s got some OCs of mine that I created to be Wooley’s batchmates. More information on them can be found below the cut
Wooley groaned as the Corrie tugged his arms behind him and pulled out a set of binders. He wasn't even drunk or involved this time. He just happened to be nearby when Crys set off a bunch of glitter bombs (Wooley was pretty sure he got them from Torrent) and of course the Corrie assumed he was a part of it. Or just wanted the bragging rights among their batchmates that he got to throw Wooley into the drunk tank.
"Corin, you are a slimy bastard," he groaned. "I didn't do anything."
"Hmm, that's what you say. But you see, you Ghosts rarely do stuff by yourself. Therefore, that kid Jek is arresting had an accomplice. The closest Ghost was you," Corin said smugly.
Wooley sighed.
"I actually hate you right now."
"Don't stay things you don't mean, Wooley dearest," Corin sang.
"Ratio is my favorite now."
"Blasphemy! I have always been your favorite batchmate," Corin protested.
"Ratio isn’t currently arresting me for something I didn't do and didn't know anything about."
"If you want to lie, you need to get better at hiding your tells."
"I've been working on that," another vod's voice called. Wooley sighed. He knew that voice very well. And of course Lovely just had to happen by.
Corin closed the binders on his wrists and turned Wooley towards the Guard speeder where Lovely was leaning against the side.
And then they stopped.
Wooley glanced behind and couldn't help but grin. Oh. Oh that was delightful blackmail material.
Corin stood there, his bucket clipped to his belt so his curly blue hair went in every direction as it attempted to escape its ponytail. And he stood, absolutely dumbstruck, and stared at Lovely. His brother, the most flirtatious of the lot of them, was stunned silent by a pretty face.
Discreetly, Wooley swiped the keys off of Corin's belt and walked towards the speeder, Corin's hand sliding off of his back. He fiddled with the binders for a moment and then slipped them off and tossed them into the Guard speeder. He put his bucket back on and immediately took several holos of Corin's face.
"Is there a problem?" Lovely asked, walking towards Corin as he waved Wooley away behind his back.
"Puh uh problem? No, there's no problem," Corin stammered. "I'm Corin."
"Nice to meet you, Corin," Lovely answered. "I'm Lovely."
"You definitely are."
Wooley almost gave his escape away with a snort as he listened to his normally suave brother blunder through an introduction. He couldn't wait to show this to Mal and Ama. They would absolutely never let Corin live this down. Cyan would get a kick out of it, too.
As Wooley hopped into a speeder heading to the GAR barracks, specifically for the clones, he sent the holo to the Crimson groupchat.
<Wooley: Look at him. He saw one of my squaddies and made this face!>
<Ama: NO WAY!!! I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!!>
<Ratio: Ha! Thank you Wooley. I am definitely saving that to get back at him for the prank he pulled last week.>
<Mal: That was Ama. But it's about time Corin got a taste of his own medicine.>
<Cyan: Lovely is really nice. Corin at least has good taste. If Lovely falls for him, though, I'm gonna have to question his taste.>
<Corin: WOOLEY YOU SON OF A BANTHA WHORE!!!>
Wooley just cackled.
Wooley’s Batch (AKA Crimson Batch)
Mal: The Oldest TM. He is gentle and kind and gives the absolute best hugs. He’s the kind of person you go to for a nice long cuddle with ice cream, blanket forts, and a movie to feel better after a bad day. He’s also got great advice. He was one of the five members of Crimson Batch that were sent to Coruscant as part of the Coruscant Guard.
Kye: He can be a bit of a grump. He is also the easiest to get with a prank, which the others do quite frequently. Kye also has the most infectious laugh, if you can get him to let loose. He’s also a Coruscant Guard.
Ratio: Ratio is happiest if he has a fully-charged datapad, a hot cup of caf, and a vod’ika curled up against him (usually Ama). Force save anyone who brings him a problem to solve before he’s had his morning caf, though. He likes to tease and joke around and holds trivia nights, which can range from fun little quizzes, to him info-dumping with his batchmates. He is also a Coruscant Guard.
Corin: Corin is a notorious flirt. He will flirt with anyone that he can get away with. Charming to the extreme and with a fun sense of humor to boot, he is very popular both within the Guard and with any Battalions on leave. He is also a massive troll. Wooley and Corin were really close before they were deployed and Wooley learned how to flirt from Corin. He fell head over heels for Lovely the very first time he saw him, and spent the rest of the war trying to come up with ways to woo Lovely. (Lovely is demi, so it took a bit of time and a lot of patience, but he was wooed.) Corin is a member of the Coruscant Guard.
Talla: He is very protective. He was one of the batchmates that was assigned to Commander Rill’s Company (also an oc of mine) along with Wooley, Cyan, Kita, and Maie. When they were captured by Separatists, Talla was sold to Trandoshans along with Kita and Maie. He protected them and they managed to survive until they were later rescued (this is soft! I couldn’t kill them. I just couldn’t). He’s fairly paranoid and warms up to strangers very slowly and rarely goes anywhere without his armor and several weapons.
Cyan: Cyan was rescued by the 212th along with Wooley (and Lovely and a few others, but I’m not focusing on them now). He’s really reserved and quiet, but will absolutely swear like a sailor with the people he’s closest to. He becomes really close with Miggs (a fellow trooper in the 212th) and they eventually say the riduurok after Miggs lost his leg on Umbara. They will eventually adopt a squad of cadets and raise them together.
Kita: Kita is pretty friendly and adapts well to being around other people. At least better than Talla. He was also rescued with Talla and Maie. He likes making friends and is definitely nowhere near as paranoid as Talla.
Maie: Maie is considered “Babey TM”. He’s got the Sad Tooka Eyes (which Wooley learned from him and used to great effect on the 212th). He is a little quiet and tends to stick close with the people he knows the best but is also interested in making new friends. He really wants to open a ranch or farm and just spend time out in nature when he doesn’t have to worry about being hunted.
And finally . . .
Ama: Ama is the Youngest TM. Always. He loves practical jokes and making people laugh. He has probably perfected several comedy routines at this point and performs them every time he’s at 79′s with a new Company on leave. Loves sitting with Ratio and they like planning pranks together. Kye is their usual victim, but they also target the others as well. He was also sent to Coruscant as a Coruscant Guard.
Let me know if you want to learn any more about these guys! (I have done piccrew with them because I can’t draw) I love them a lot. If you made it all the way this far! Congratulations and thank you so much!! Crimson Batch will appear in my Long Fic (whenever I have time to actually write it).
ALSO!! FYI, Wooley falls between Kita and Maie, age-wise. He’s not the Youngest, but he is one of the youngest.

You save them/they save you 2: Shay, Malik, Altair
Malik Set years before Solomon's temple : It was an embarrassing on both sides it was also how they met! he was being chased at night by some stubborn Templar's when he stumbled into an open window where a very pretty woman was getting read for bed, they stared at each other for a few moments unsure of what the other was doing there..."What's your name?" he blurted out as the woman blinked unsure. "Uh..y-Y/n." she stammered as Malik started taking his robes off.
"Well Y/n I'm going to need you to take your clothes off..." He said much to Y/n's mortification. "Wh-" the assassin cut her off. "I won't do anything I just need you to trust me." he whipped his head toward her window those voices were getting closer...  Y/n swallowed and reluctantly did as she was told.
When the guard poked his head into the Y/n's window he was met with a couple getting intimate the woman noticed the guard and gasped in horror before her assumed husband whipped his head around to see what scared her. "WHAT THE HELL?!" Malik snarled at the peeper who stuttered out a flurry of apologies before leaving them.
"The damn bastard got away!" the guard yelled to his companions before leaving the area, Malik sighed then looked down at Y/n who averted her eyes from him, The assassin got off her and started getting dressed. "Sorry...And Thank-you." He said before taking off into the night leaving Y/n wondering if she'll see him again.
How he saves you: Y/n was being followed she knew was being followed she started walking into alleys taking sharp turns and exiting into crowed areas but this stalker was persistent... she knew he was going catch her eventually do god knows what to her! Entered another alley noticing a second pair of eyes on her from above that were keeping in pace and steady eye on her unwanted guest.
Y/n was going to try and lose him in another maze of alleys when an arm yanked her into a niche, she was going to scream when she saw the dark blue over coat and white robes "Mal-" She cut off by him suddenly kissing her and wrapping his arm around her waist, while Y/n was stunned she responded to him.
Malik opened his eyes under his hood and shot a glare behind the y/ht woman at her stalker who flinched under the taller man's gaze before noticing the sword on his waist and took of running, Malik pulled away smirked feeling proud that he still had an intimidating presence and that made his girlfriend weak in the knees.
-----------------------------------
Shay: He was being chased by bounty hunters one of them managed to shoot him in the side, so he was pretty bad shape when he stubble into the undertaker's home, shocking the hell out of Y/n. "Shay?!" she said stunned restocking the incense burners, she pulled him away from the door as Shay "I need to get out of sight lass." he hissed in pain as the y/ht woman heard men outside looking for the Irishman, thinking fast Y/n brought him down into the room where they store and prepare the bodies for funerals and laid Shay down in a coffin.
"Sorry this is the place I can think of." she said wincing noticing his bleeding side. "It's fine just get rid of them." He grimaced from the stench of death and embalming fluids as Y/n closed the lid, just as her front was pounded on... What the templar didn't see was Y/n examining the blood drops leading to the coffin, She covered this up by cutting her hand with one of her father's tools making it bleed heavily and put the bloody tool on the coffin lid, and following Shay's trail to the frontdoor.
Shay held his breath as he heard Y/n muffled voice followed by a few men he heard steps wandering around the building. "Guh, what a stench!" one man grimaced as they walked into the morgue. "Well what did you expect? for it to smell like a rose garden?" the y/nat woman sassed as the men gagged trying not to look at the bodies that weren't covered as she pointed at the bloody tray and scalpel.
"See? Like I told you I was cleaning my father's tools when you brutes started pounding at my door!" she hissed holding a cloth to her hand. The men apologized and left obviously not wanting to spend another minute near the dead or with the creepy undertaker's daughter, Y/n sighed and opened the coffin Shay was hiding in luckily her father had returned from a funeral and patched to two of them up, Shay thanked by giving her bandaged hand a kiss and disappearing into the night.
How he saves you: "Y/n you've taken the cake this time..." she huffed to no-one in particular as two native men eyed her curiously, she saw the natives getting rounded up into two groups one for adults and the second group was just made up of children as these redcoats were loading them into carriages, Y/n silently stepped in she managed to free the kids but was caught when she went to free the adults.
"Shut-up back there!" a redcoat guard snarled as another slammed the butt of his rifle against the carriage bars, causing her to glare at them. "Why did you try to help us?" one of the captives asked the y/nat winced holding her bleeding side. "Because no one else would, this was your home long before we came around..." she said keeping her voice and breathing steady, as she was sitting in the back of that redcoat carriage bleeding out.
Y/n's mind slowly wondered to Shay would she see him again? probably not... she's lost a lot blood, Y/n wanted to laugh bitterly as a stray tear fell down her cheek as she thought about their short time together one of the natives looked at her sympathetically he hesitantly took her free hand held it, well at least the children got away so her efforts aren't completely in vain ...She never even got to chance to tell Shay she loved him.
Suddenly there was commotion the cart suddenly stopped as the soldiers surrounding it started rushing around panicking! Blades were swung and guns were going off Something or someone was taking them out, one of the native's cautiously stood up to see what was going on, as it had suddenly got quiet. "The guards... They're all dead!" he said causing a few other's to check to see, as someone was coming around the side...
Everyone sort of huddled together as the cage door was unlocked and yanked open to reveal Shay the natives bolted as soon as the door save for the one that comforted Y/n he helped Shay get her off the cart. "Thank you." he said to Y/n before joining the others while Shay got the y/ht woman tended to... Then yelled at her taking off on her own like that!
-----------------------------------
Altair:He was knocked into the water by one of the guards, You were on a small fishing boat tending to the nets when you saw the arrogant Altair get thrown into the water, you snorted thinking that will that the wind from his sails. (Let's just say you and him have a history.) but then he didn't come back up... You started panicking and jumped in and swam to where you last saw him.
You dove underwater he wasn't that hard to find his white robe were bright in contrast to the dark blue sea! You took a big gulp of air when you broke to the surface and dragged Altair to the shore you rolled him onto his back, and  placed your head on his chest and cussed not hearing a heartbeat, You pull yourself on to his waist and started to try and revive him by giving him a nice punch to the sternum, Altair jolted and started coughing up water, You climbed off and let him roll onto his side when he threw up more and caught his breath.
He eventually managed to breath he rolled over and looked looked at you with an unreadable expression, probably confused why you would rescue him of all people after the way he treated you. "You're welcome..."you huffed before getting up to leave only for Altair to pull himself up looked over a stall selling scarves and shawls and took one (the person running it ran when the guards came) and silently covered you with it. "Hard to thank woman with no modesty.." he grumbled keeping his eyes focused somewhere else, your furrowed wondering what he meant by that? you looked down to see your clothes were completely see through! Needles to say it was tense walk home.
How he saves you: Somehow the Templars found out your family was in the assassin order and started targeting you! of course you didn't know this as you had left the brotherhood intending to live a normal life, So being woken up in the middle of the night by an armored man with a sword to your neck was the last thing you'd see!
Your old training kicked in and you managed to dodge out of the way from the blade coming down on your chest! Before he could raise his bade again something hit him in the back and he collapsed in a heap as a almost feral looking Altair holding his crossbow, stepped out from the shadows covered in blood splatter as his eyes roamed your body checking for injuries. "What's going on-" the assassin cut you off. "There's more coming we have to go." he hissed grabbing your hand as he led you through the house which had bodies laying along the premise, more were outside... Altair really went into overkill with them.
You swallowed hard remembering why you left the assassin's in the first place, you didn't have the stomach for it and you certainly didn't want to be raised to be married off like the other women born into the creed, you wanted to experience a life where killing wasn't in the cards... Shame life doesn't work out that way, Altair never let go of you until you were safe in Malik's bureau.

Kaito -
Lesson today is canceled. Refund is on the bench.
-Mal
***
A heavy sigh escaped the Au Ra's lips as he read the note; it was incredibly terse, especially for someone as verbose as Mhalv'a. I better go check on him... he thought, taking the pouch of gil and shoving it into his pocket. He decided he would simply hold onto it for the time being. Inevitably, Mhalv'a was going to get it back at some point once he was feeling up to giving lessons again.
Before going to Mhalv'a's room - or, more accurately, the room that Kaito had built for him after taking over the one that did belong to Mhalv'a - the Raen grabbed a bottle of rum from the bar, then made a couple of sandwiches. The poor guy probably needed it, he figured. He wasn't sure how much the bard had been eating or drinking recently, but then again, he'd spent less and less time at the company house. Still, it didn't hurt to show him that he wasn't alone.
With his arms full, the Au Ra turned and thumped his tail on Mhalv'a's door. "Nee, Maru-chan. Koko ni iru ka? You there?" he asked.
For a measure or two, there was silence, followed by what sounded like something being skewered. The fuck?? Eventually, a faint and muffled, "Come in," came through the door.
Kaito was fairly worried about what he might find on the other side; Mhalv'a was typically a very rational person, but rationality tended to fly out the window when love and trauma were involved, at least in his experience. Thankfully, it wasn't as bad as what his mind had conjured up - the bard had set up a target dummy in the middle of the room and was practicing his archery. Everything else he had in there was pushed off to the sides rather haphazardly.
"Is this why you canceled my piano lesson?" Kaito asked as he set the food and drinks down on the table.
Without bothering to look over at Kaito, Mhalv'a nocked an arrow, pulled back the bowstring, then released. The arrow zipped toward the dummy, hitting it in the dead center of the target. "Yes," he answered simply.
As he watched the display, the Raen let out an appreciative whistle, then poured some rum for both of them and held out a glass for the Miqo'te. "You're pretty damn good... is this all you've been doing lately?"
Another arrow nocked, a moment of concentration, and the bard released it. The second arrow struck directly next to the previous one. "Yes," Mhalv'a repeated.
Frowning slightly, Kaito realized that he was probably going to need to carry the conversation - not that this would be too difficult, considering what a big mouth he had. "Come over here and eat something," he requested, pulling out a seat for the Miqo'te before sitting down himself. "I know you're hurting right now... I am too. I don't know if my brother's alive or dead, I don't know exactly where they've got him, and I'm terrified at having to go back to Garlean territory..."
The bard side-eyed Kaito, then shot one last arrow that nestled between the other two before setting his bow aside. "At least everyone recognizes your capability," he stated in a quiet, seething tone as he took a seat.
"I'm not denying your capability, Maru-chan, but you can't go running off there on your own," Kaito sighed.
"I wasn't attempting to," came the response, with an implied "again" at the end of the statement. Mhalv'a stared at the food and drinks, as if trying to remember how such things worked.
Lowering his eyes, the Au Ra sighed again, then took a large gulp of his rum. "What you did was crazy and stupid, but... it was helpful too," he murmured, slowly turning the glass in his hand and staring at the way the light reflected off of it. After a moment, he turned to look at the target dummy, and a grin spread across his face as he got an idea. "Had any practice with a moving target?"
Mhalv'a had just been about to take a bite of his sandwich, but he paused at the question and turned his eyes to meet the Au Ra's. "What are you suggesting?"
"I'm saying finish that sandwich, chug down your rum, and then let's play kakurenbo," Kaito responded with a wide, mischievous grin.
***
"Are you certain about this?" Mhalv'a asked, looking vaguely worried as he stared at Kaito, who was standing about twenty yalms away.
"Trust me. Just shoot!" the Au Ra called out. Just to be safe, he'd donned his full armor and mask - the last thing he needed was to get seriously injured before they all went out to save Hinan.
With a sigh of resignation, the bard nocked an arrow, pulled back his bowstring, then released it directly toward Kaito. Luckily, his trust wasn't misplaced - the Shinobi plucked the arrow out of the air as if catching a feather drifting toward him, then spun it around in his hand before setting it aside.
"So now try to hit me while I'm moving," Kaito called out, then danced around, back and forth over the spot where he'd been standing. "C'mon, Maru-chan! Penetrate me!"
The Miqo'te made a face briefly at Kaito's request to "penetrate" him; it just made him all the more determined to shoot the little bastard. Focusing was difficult though. Every other time he'd put his archery skills to use, his target had been relatively still - usually deer or rabbits he was hunting for food and skins. This was far more of a challenge than he expected, and every arrow he shot either flew past the shinobi or just stuck in the ground near him. "Damn it..." the Keeper sighed.
"Focus! I'm not even moving that much compared to what you're gonna deal with in a real battle!" Kaito called out, still dancing around. He was relatively slow, but Mhalv'a was very out of practice when it came to shooting anything that wasn't stationary. "Just take deep breaths and aim where you think I'm going to be."
Closing his eyes, the Miqo'te inhaled deeply as instructed, then let out a long, drawn-out breath as he nocked his next arrow. He took aim and sang quietly to himself. "Hunt your prey and act, draw your arrow back, never let them get away. Set your arrow free on the enemy, never let them get away." After taking a moment to predict Kaito's movements, he loosed the arrow, and it zipped right toward Kaito's chest.
The Shinobi's eyes crinkled - the only indication that he was grinning behind his mask, and he clapped his hands onto the shaft of the arrow as it flew towards him. "Direct hit!" he exclaimed, letting out an excited cheer afterwards.
Eyes wide, the Miqo'te watched in awe as his arrow nearly pierced his companion, only to be stopped just in time. For a moment, he was quiet, pursing his lips and trying to convince himself that it wasn't just a fluke. Well, even if it was, he just needed more practice, right?
"Mou ichido!" the bard called out as he nocked another arrow. Kaito blinked a couple of times in surprise, then grinned as he started dancing around again, faster and in broader, sweeping motions this time.
"Pull the bowstring back, just before it snaps, feel the tension in your fingers," Mhalv'a sang along with his motions, narrowing his eyes as he watched the Shinobi closely. Just like before, he aimed right where he predicted the Raen would be, singing louder as he loosed his arrow, "As they're frozen still, go in for the kill, making sure no life will linger!"
Surprisingly, the Raen was caught off-guard by the next arrow zipping towards him. He let out a yelp, then quickly dodged out of the way - it would have gotten him directly through the gut if he hadn't been quick enough. "Holy shit! Maru-chan!" he shouted as he sprinted up to the Miqo'te excitedly.
Mhalv'a's eyes were still wide, but he gave the Au Ra a little smile; clearly, he was doing something right. "I guess... I should keep doing this?" he asked, looking up at Kaito a bit anxiously. It was weird having their student-teacher dynamic flipped on its head, but there was something kind of nice about it too. Besides, he'd already learned enough about archery in his youth that really, Kaito was just helping him transfer that knowledge.
"Now we play kakurenbo," the Au Ra said with a grin. He stepped aside and reached into the satchel he'd brought along, then pulled out a new quiver full of arrows tipped in suction cups. "I'm gonna run off and hide. Once you find me, I'm gonna start running, and when you shoot me, you win," he explained.
This didn't sound like any game of "hide-and-seek" that Mhalv'a had ever played, but the idea of having an excuse to riddle the adorable asshole with arrows - however harmless they may have been - was rather enticing. After removing his own quiver, the bard slipped the one from Kaito over his shoulder, then smirked. "Kakugo shinasai yo!" he snapped, immediately drawing an "arrow" and nocking it on his bow.
Laughing brightly, Kaito darted off to find a place to hide.
***
The two played "hide-and-seek" for several bells; Mhalv'a found it easier over time to predict where to shoot, even as Kaito's movements became more erratic. After exhausting the quiver several times over, the two of them headed back to the company house, sore and out of breath, then flopped down amongst the flowers in the lawn.
"Hinan's gonna be super impressed," Kaito panted as he tugged his mask off. With a little grin, he turned to look at Mhalv'a, but his smile quickly faded when he saw the Miqo'te's expression. Granted, Mhalv'a didn't look terribly different from normal, but his wilted ears and the look in his eyes told the Au Ra everything he needed to know.
"He was going to teach me..." Mhalv'a whispered, biting his lower lip as he stared up at the stars. "I keep thinking maybe we'll hear something... anything..."
"I know... it's driving me nuts too, but all we can do is just... focus on keeping it together," Kaito responded in a gentler tone than usual as he turned on his side to look at the Keeper. "For his sake, and for everyone else."
Mhalv'a closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, then exhaled slowly to compose himself. "I know..." he whispered.
After finally gathering the strength to push himself up into a sitting position, Kaito gave Mhalv'a a firm clap on the shoulder. "Come have dinner with me and S'aeil some night," he offered. "Maybe it'll help ya feel better, ya know, not feeling like you're stuck here. Just... don't tell Takumi I let you eat my cooking. It's already bad enough I let S'aeil and Ralei in on the secret. If she finds out more people are getting to experience my culinary prowess, she's gonna flip the fuck out."
The bard couldn't help the quiet laugh that bubbled up in response to Kaito's request - it was absurd, but just the kind of absurd he'd come to expect of the "twins." "So long as it wouldn't be an imposition..." he sighed quietly. "Thank you, Kaito..."
Mhalv'a's reaction to Kaito's remark was what he was looking for, and the Au Ra grinned once again. "Thank you... for everything you've done to help get my brother back," he responded, giving his companion's shoulder a squeeze. "I'm gonna head back home for now, but... just page my linkpearl whenever you'd like to come over. Dropping in on us unexpectedly is dangerous, otherwise I'd just say come over whenever."
It was clear what Kaito meant by "dangerous," and the Miqo'te wrinkled his nose slightly. "... of course," he agreed after a moment, then finally pushed himself up to his feet. "I suppose I could stand to make use of the new bathing facilities downstairs..."
Kaito stood as well, and they hugged briefly before parting ways. If nothing else, Mhalv'a was at least feeling more confident in his abilities, and, hopefully, he would be able to convince everyone to let him accompany them whenever the time came to rescue Hinan.
