Cannibal's Mildly Useful Guide to Cheap Travel

A non-comprehensive series of notes on travelling in ffxiv since I've had a couple people ask how the fuck I hold onto my money

Make your free teleport or return teleport limsa lominsa. It's a travel hub with a LOT of options. For instance, travel to kugane by boat from limsa is less than half as expensive as a simple teleport straight there.

Airship travel to the gold saucer is free. Airship travel from the gold saucer to ul'dah is free. If you are somewhere with an airship and need to get somewhere near ul'dah, airship to the saucer and then from there go to ul'dah, and your teleport to anywhere in thanalan will be comparatively cheap.

Free teleport in sharlayan to thavnair. Go to limsa, ride a boat to sharlayan, sprint along the endless harbor (i know its irritating but it saves gil), use aethernet to get to aetheryte plaza, and run to the lady who first teleported us to thavnair. she'll do it again as many times as you need.

limsa has so many boats. anywhere in la noscea there is probably a boat to it either from limsa or from somewhere that you can get to from limsa. take a minute. look at a map. you might be surprised. hell, this applies even to things that arent in la noscea. you can get to vesper bay from limsa. whadda hell. please use limsa

Get married. I'm serious. Marriage in this game gives you an item that lets you teleport to your spouse for free. if you need to go somewhere and your ingame spouse is near it, teleport to your spouse.

Ask nicely and I will personally fly you places on my marital chocobo. flying faster than walking. i have flight everywhere. you are welcome
