YES!! i have a LOT of aesthetic thoughts and more thoughts are forming as we speak

I think Coomer would absolutely be first to wake up; but when he does, Xen is totally empty-- no science team, no benrey, no sweet voice or skeletons, no nothing. 

everything seems dim, and the world’s distorted in the way that tends to happen when you have a fever-- the walls seem to move but as soon as you move your eyes, they hop back into place.

Coomer walks around for a while, obv disoriented and confused, but used to weird shit happening since it’s been happening to him since the realization he’s been in a game all along.

then he turns a corner and finds himself back in black mesa-- except now it’s a labyrinth, and textures are occasionally fallling out of place-- either missing or on the wrong surfaces.

he eventually ends up finding the others, and they have to like, venture together to find the cause, since... well, they don’t know the player shut down the game. maybe coomer has a hunch, but he’s not totally sure.

benrey and gordon are probably around the heart of the whole labyrinth of levels, and the center i imagine would some weird, distorted place, with the cold tile floor of black mesa, bleeding into the almost fleshy walls of Xen, with patches of blue sky that fade into nothing. there’s a lot of lost houndeyes and headcrabs blipping in-and-out of existence too.

benrey would also be TRYING to keep them lost bc he doesn’t want them getting hurt, bc the center would be the most dangerous, glitchy, and corrupted part.

the player models would be corrupted too, the levels of corruption designated by the ‘importance’ of the character-- gordon the least, and probably tommy or coomer the most.

ANYWAY i rambled on a while but.... i love the idea and the aesthetic that’s in my head..... maybe i’ll draw some of them later idk...... 

i think i’ll call it the Atlas AU for now since. y’know. atlas/benrey comparison
