i don't understand why people dislike the second person in books... it can provide a more visceral connection between the reader and the main character while also allowing for a more gradual release of details, like if an author wants to hold back information on the point of view character such as their name or even pronouns. it's very useful in adding a layer of mystery to a story and can be quite interesting
