After hearing on the Imp and Skizz podcast how much of a mentor Skizz was to him, and that Skizz sometimes calls his son by Imp's name on accident, I can't get caretaker Skizz and Little Impulse out of my head.

Like, sometimes Impulse just wants to be taken care of and guided like the old days (whatever the Minecraft version of that part of their lives would be), and he's feeling small and soft and sensitive, and Skizz is all over that. He totally takes it on like it's nothing. Toys, playtime, snacks, the whole shebang. Skizz is also super protective of lil Imp. Nothing and no one is going to hurt the little as long as he can help it.

There's a level of comfort that comes from being around someone you've known for that long. Skizz knows Impulse well, and knows how to make sure he feels safe. Impulse is comfortable enough to let Skizz know when he needs that.

Impulse regressing around zits crew head canons!

He's cheery and giggly as a little, very easily entertained by his friend's antics. He's also entertained by his own mischief, which doubles while small. There's nothing like seeing his friends react to his pranks or silliness.

Zits love how silly he can get, even if sometimes it means him spooking them or making messes. Sometimes during a good day, they can get him to tire himself out on giggles and make naptime easy.

This is good bc his overworker tendencies as an adult transfer over as a very restless and curious kiddo who Hates being told to stop what he's doing unless the new thing is equally or more interesting.

He's also extra sensitive. Poor baby cries easily. He's not big on cuddles unless it's with a stuffie or blankets, but he likes being picked up, even though big Impulse gets embarrassed by it. Lil Impy NEEDS positive reinforcement and delights over making people happy and helping, so naturally if someone gets upset with him, his whole day is ruined.

Grumpy baby Impulse comes about from: too much teasing, not enough sleep, things not working how he wants them to, etc.

Skizz and Tango are his "uncles". Zed isn't exactly opposed to the term for himself, but it does make him feel old. Skizz is actually fairly paternal about it, he can get protective over lil Impy- which Tango thinks is funny and endearing- but he IS still a best friend and as such is obligated to tease the little guy, albeit in a gentler way.

Joker (from jits streams) eventually is let in on it and he's more of an older sibling figure who is constantly encouraging Impulse's mischief. There's a bit going on where Joker also gets put in time out for things despite not being regressed himself, which everyone gets a laugh out of, and it keeps Impulse from always listening to his bad influence.

I'm gonna be giggling about Joker being put in time out for ages. I can imagine him protesting, all indignant, and Impulse giggling hysterically when Tango and Skizz add 5 more minutes to his time out for backtalk.

How to handle tantrums 101. A guide by Skizzleman (With the mountaneeirs as test subjects)

Gem. Doesn't have alot of tantrums, or she is to young and the only thing in her mind is napping or she is an angel but when she has them is because she is lonely and she really wants attention but doesn't know how to voice it. So pick that little up and hug her she will be happy!

Grian. Has tantrums often because its fun- he is chaotic and energetic and sometimes tantrums are one thing that are gonna take some of his energy, but if you offer that bird snacks he will be out of the floor in a minute!

Scar only has tantrums when he is unable to do something, he can't go play tag because he is on a bad pain day and is on his wheelchair, he cant build because he can't think of what he can do because the ideas don't seem to appear in his head. Simply carrying him around on your arms and bring him aroun everywhere, he will be quiet and enjoying being there and probably sleep on Skizz's arms

Joel is also one for tantrums. Specially if he is frustated with himself or when he is tired but doesn't want to sleep piggyback rides are the way to go! Skizz smiles everytime he can hear Joel giggling on his back (But sometimes he does regret it when Joel starts to be a little gremiling and pull his hair)

Mumbo doesn't have tantrums, he totaly doesn't. No, him refusing to get back inside of Skizz's base and pounting because he doesn't want to nap(even tho he needs to) is not him having a tantrum. But if he WAS having a tantrum offer him to read a story, Mumbo loves hearing stories and comment on them even tho he just babbles and he will be more willing to take a nap

Impulse. When regressed Imp still tries to work and gets frustate when he keep making mistakes and when Skizz notices this he will say sweet and soft words, impulse usually needs a reminder that he is allowed to take a break, he is allowed to relax, he is allowed to be a little and doesn't need to work 24/7. He is not on their old home anymore

And now for a secret note from the littles as a bonus! How to make a happy Skizz while he is the one having a tantrum!

When Skizz is having a tantrum is usually... Because he is really tired, his wings hurt, memories that he rather to forget keep coming back and he is just... so tired. So when he eventually starts having a tantrum (Even tho he isnt a little, he shoulnd be one, he really needs to grow up) and refuses to rest. The whole group gets together to help, Impulse with words of affirmation and helping him calm down, Joel carrying him to his base on his back while Mumbo tells him about his day, grian is in the kitchen making snacks and Skizz is just watching him while Scar holds him and after the snacks and Gem being the perfect hermit to cuddle and hug.

In the next day when he is big again, Skizz is so greatfull to have all of them - 🦋 (also about Xuma hc, no you didnt misunderstand me! I probably just invented a word and tought it meant something lol)

Soup group all use sign language when regressed. But due to each being in a different country, they have their own made-up version that includes sign language from each country. No one else on the server understands besides soup group

Knowing that if they ever need something from each other, they can signal it without anyone else understanding, sounds like it would be comforting. No need to be embarrassed about asking to step away, go home, or be comforted or even entertained if the only people understanding you also understand why you're feeling that way.

Little Impulse is generally a little angel who likes helping and sharing and giving hugs.

But sometimes, especially when he's around people like ZITS who he's really comfortable with, he gets rowdier. He likes to tease and prank and push his friend's buttons, and when he gets set on an idea or winning a game, he gets competitive and fussy, which has resulted in a few tantrums.

As much as they grumble about other people not believing that sweet little Imp can be a rascal, they know it's a big deal for him to be so comfortable taking up space and energy.

Skizz is also delighted to not be the clingy one for once, because little Imp hates being alone.

cause impulse is pretty sensitive while little he almost always has a paci as a soother,, he uses it frequently regardless of little age but just carries it around with him when he's not,, but whenever he's been looked after he's too scared to tell other hermits about it cause he thinks they'll think he's too old to be using a paci - even though the hermits would never - so he just keeps it in a pocket

impulse chews a lot when regressed, even when they’re not in puppy space it still chews a lot, so cause of that they tend to keep chewerly n teethers on them a lot of the time n it’s primary caregivers tend to keep some chewerly n teethers on their person as well

Impulse is actually pretty good about not chewing things like its clothes or non-chewable toys, possibly because they always keep things in reach that are appropriate to chew.

babyspace impulse cries a lot but unless he's super super upset a sure way for the hermits to cheer him up is to sit him on their lap facing them n just boop or kiss his nose,, he's always so surprised every time that they end up w him giggling instead of crying

The Hermit who first discovered it deserves an award, if only for the adorable way Impulse hiccups, blinks, and then starts giggling when they do it.
