New pattern: Between the Dragon and His Wrap
With medieval-style dragons and castles, this shawl is a fantasy lover’s delight! It’s knitted entirely in the round, with the fringe built in as you go. This pattern features the easiest steek imaginable - the steek becomes the fringe; you just cut it up the middle and knot the strands to finish!
You can follow either written or charted instructions.
Comes in two lengths.
Purchasing this pattern gives you access to both a standard-format PDF with the instructions and a low-vision/screen reader version.
Pattern is available at https://wipinsanity.blogspot.com/p/pattern-between-dragon-and-his-wrap.html

The @fastenoffyal Stitchspiration prompt was "Show off your Fasten Off wip" and here are mine.
Top is the not yet photogenic CamdenCap a design by Woolly Wormhead which is an adventure to create, especially the brim. I love how it's turning out so far
Bottom is Mosaic Staircase Scarf by Aklori Designs. It's TunisianCrochet and due to my yarn choice slow going but turning out lovely

Looking for test knitters! The Cloak of Visibility is a pi shawl, full circle with a slit. It combines stockinette stitch with a simple ripple pattern and can be worked in any fingering weight yarn - gradient, solid, stripes for the different sections, whatever you feel like. Soft deadline is October 10, but I can be flexible on that. Knitters of any skill level, gender or ethnicity welcome. Requirements: Finish by deadline (can be extended), post a good photo of the finished shawl on a social media of your choice or create a Ravelry project page. Pictures of you wearing the shawl are preferred but not required. Test will happen on my discord, link is in profile. If you want to test but have no discord, DM me and we'll figure something out. #OffRavDesigner #OffRav #InclusiveYarnCommunity #testersneeded #TestKnittersAreBestKnitters #TestKnit — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/3sXyNRH

CALLING ALL DESIGNERS!
Our designer sign-up period has begun! It ends November 19.
This is the pre-event period of time where independent crochet and knit designers (and yes, that includes Tunisian crochet and loom knitting!) sign up to be participating designers in the Fasten Off Yarnalong event. Don't miss this all-important sign-up window!
Information about being a participating designer, including the link to the sign-up form, can be found on the designer page of our website. We also recommend that you sign up for designer updates on our mailing list so you don't miss anything. (While you're at it, you can also sign up for general participant and/or volunteer updates if you'd like.)

No one we've ever seen does double knitting like @taniarichter. Her patterns are so gorgeous and elaborate, often with a fantasy theme. She's currently focusing on designing large scarves and shawls featuring dragons, phoenixes, and Celtic designs, and her past body of work is very varied. You can see dozens of her patterns at www.fastenoffyal.com/tania-richteraetherfang
Pictured here is her Celtic Thistle Unicorn Shawl, a triangular shawl with a rampant unicorn in the centre, and beautiful thistle border motifs.

What is the Fasten Off Yarnalong?
We're an accessible, inclusive stitchalong event geared to promoting and supporting independent crochet and knitting designers. We also love building community and giving everybody a fun time! To participate in the stitchalong, you just have to start a project using a purchasable pattern from any of our participating designers.
Our event is filled with activities and games, including lots of opportunity for chatting on various social media channels. Makers can get as involved as they feel comfortable with, on the channels they feel comfortable on.
The event kicks off with a two-week discount period; that's when people can use the event's discount code to get 25% off a selection of patterns from our participating designers!
Last year we had 101 designers and 2,365 discounted pattern products, all searchable on our website! This year we're aiming to make our searchable database even bigger and better, with more search features. You can check out our website for databases from past years to see what we had on offer.
More information is coming as the event gets closer! To keep updated on what's going on, you can subscribe to our mailing list, check the website, and/or keep an eye on our social media spaces.

Elizabeth Sullivan is co-owner of Sweet Paprika Designs with her sister Debbie. Their yarns are often the inspiration behind Elizabeth's crochet and knitting designs, and she likes to create patterns which are both fun to make and enjoyable to wear. Size inclusivity is very important to her, and most of her adult garments are sized to fit at least a 30 to 60 inch chest range.
We love the simplicity and beauty of her Khione sweater knitting pattern. The lovely texture pattern at neckline, sleeve cuffs, and bottom hem makes this more than just your average stockinette sweater.
You can see more of Elizabeth's beautifully knitted work at www.fastenoffyal.com/elizabeth-sullivan

Knit Eco Chic's patterns are engineered with intentional details to create enjoyable and stunning projects. They also have an eco-focus. As a result, she has dozens of lovely designs for you to check out!
It was really hard to pick just one of her designs to show off here, because she consistently creates beautiful garments and accessories. We finally decided on Woodsong Camber, because it's such a unique and handsome hip-length sweater, with its panels of cables and lace travelling diagonally down the body, and matching panels down the sleeves.
You can see much, much more of her work at www.fastenoffyal.com/knit-eco-chic

Stitchers, start your engines!
We are delighted to announce that the 2022 Fasten Off Yarnalong has begun! This is our biggest year yet, with:
109 designers
3,500 discount-eligible patterns
Over 4,300 patterns in our database altogether
As usual, we kick off the yarnalong with a discount period. Use code FO2022 on any of our participating designers' discounted patterns to get 25% off the regular price! Our website's search feature lets you hunt for patterns you'll love, and lets you see which ones are discount-eligible.
Yep, that's right, this year we're showing all patterns from our participating designers which can be individually purchased off-Ravelry, not just the discounted ones! We hope this gives you a wider variety of yarnalong projects to choose from, and gives you a better idea of the great work that the designers create. We've also added new search features this year, which we hope will help you find exactly what you want.
So go ahead and get started on your yarnalong projects! Use our #FastenOffYAL event hashtag to follow along on social media, and check out our website at www.fastenoffyal.com for more ways to connect with our community, play games, and win prizes.
Have fun!
