🗺️ I've noticed that when people decide to visit/explore Bulgaria, they usually do it either from the East or from the West. But almost never from the middle of the country. ✈️ I find that normal. In the west you have the capital (Sofia) with good airport connections and on the east you have the seaside (we have a border with the Black Sea) where people often come to find sunny days and/or cheap alcohol. 🏚️ But the thing is that Bulgaria is not just Sofia, sea and mountains. Bulgaria is waterfalls, caves, monasteries, the food, the people... This picture is from North Central Bulgaria. It is taken in a city called Veliko Tarnovo and as you can see by the look of the street, it's quite old. Once upon a time this was the capital of the Bulgarian Empire. There's loads of history in the city and fascinating nature in the area (scroll down the feed to see some of the shots I took during my journey couple of weeks ago).
