Tumgik
#it is worth mentioning though that even before taika showing support for the occupation the show was problematic in its depiction of slavers

You know, I used to like ofmd an alright amount — I could tell it wasn’t the highest of quality, especially the later seasons, but it was funny enough and I watched it with my mom on afternoons.
That being said, any and all support I ever gave the show was completely shut down when I found out he was a Zionist. I can live without a funnyish mediocre show if it means not supporting a genocide. It really isn’t that hard a decision to make.
I do not understand the weird rabid fans out here talking like that to you. Hope they get well soon <3
i think that's exactly what frustrates me about this, is that it doesn't even cross their minds that *we* also like to have a good laugh and watch queer shows and find comfort in silly little things that we don't even consider good or well-written, per se, but are fond of anyway. they think we are an angry mob with crusted hearts who demand that everbody relinquish all joy and that fun is forbidden. the way people talk to me makes me think they would be shocked to know i'm a "fandom nerd" myself and enjoy a lot of things that aren't state of the art or particularly profound. many of my arab mutuals are also happy to just blog about their favourite comics and movies and simple joys. we're people too! we are multifaceted and many of us are avid gamers, anime watchers, romcom enjoyers, you name it. who is beyond small comforts?
but there comes a time when you have to acknowledge that your fun isn't sacred and that there are things more important than your entertainment, and when it your pleasures come to be at odds with your principles you have to make a call. and it should be a VERY simple call. no fun in the world is worth more than human lives.
