Halie started getting Hello Fresh and tonight she had some ground beef so before she started putting seasoning in it she made two little patties and set them aside for her hamster
And she just fed her hamster dinner and came out to tell me she shoved the entire little patty into her mouth and I am so happy for her for that

have you ever had back luck feeding crickets to your mantids? I had a t. sinensis a while ago that seemed to "throw up" after being given crickets.
mh well no, i personally havent experienced that. ive only had babey throw up once when she was very tiny because a regular fruit fly got into her box and it wasnt good for her.
i buy the crickets at the local garden and pet store and theyre usually pretty thirsty and hungry so i feed them organic veggies at home before giving them to any of my animals. i usually try to at least let a day pass between buying and feeding. (not trying to drag you personally, i just know keepers in the us that feed their mantises random insects they catch outside which can have pesticides etc on them)
i also only ever feed field crickets (g. assimilis or bimaculatus) and never house crickets (acheta domesticus) because the quality of house crickets in germany is very very bad and no serious breeder or keeper would use them. i dont know how it is in other countries, just saying it might be a reason. tho honestly, field crickets arent the best either, i just give my kids different food as well and try to be careful. its still always possible that a certain batch of crickets just isnt good or they have parasites or whatever and another batch wouldve worked fine. i generally try to buy grasshoppers and flies when i can afford them because theyre better, but also a lot more expensive^^”
