1. an album you can’t stop listening to lately
sorry tk, but this one goes to screen violence by chvrches. there are only like 2 that i was kinda neutral on, but even they have grown on me the more i listen. definitely much more aligned with my tastes: darker themes and lyrics hidden under big choruses you just wanna belt mixed with some nice synth and guitar work. chef's kiss
13. if you could talk to any musician, who would it be? what would you want to say?
oh gosh. well of course i would love to meet brandon and explain just how much tk's music has meant to me and all of the things i've gained from it. but i'd also love to ask him about his songwriting and some of the technical parts of how he comes up with the melodies and stuff, i find it so fascinating!
23. name a song that you associate with being sad
top 3 (bc i can never choose just one of anything lol): never going back again by fleetwood mac, fix you by coldplay, and both sides now by joni mitchell
27. name a song that you wish was longer
my god by the killers....the fact that it's the shortest song on the album is absolutely criminal
34. pick one of your favorite bands/artists and choose a song by them that you associate with each season
i did tk last time, so i'll go with bleachers:
spring: stop making this hurt. honestly just because it came out in may right after my semester ended, so i had plenty of time to just listen to it on repeat outside, enjoying the weather when it was still nice summer: rollercoaster. super upbeat and fun, the perfect summer bop. fall: wake me. there's a quality to the guitar and the bridge and the lyrics that makes me want to just be snuggled under the covers with a cup of hot cocoa next to me while it's grey and chilly outside winter: everybody lost somebody. even though the sax makes this feel big and bold and summery, the lyrics are dark and raw and reflective of loss which i just associate with winter
