Before this episode starts and all shit hits the fan one way or another let me just say that it is absolutely ok to be upset about how things play out!
This fandom is generally a very postive very happy space and that's great! Unfortunately, a lot of that comes from this parasocial bond a good chunk of us have with the cast where we feel we have to love and support everything they do, and that's no more of a healthy attitude than this fan vs. Creator mindset that's so present in most fandoms
We owe them basic human respect and kindness. We can't make demands of them to play their game a certain way. They are under no obligation to make their story fit what fans want from it
(All of this holds true for any kind of creator for the record)
But on the flipside we don't have to be happy about every choice tbey make either! What we don't owe them is our eternal loyalty and constant praise. If where the story goes doesn't spark joy for you you can walk away! Temporarily, for the rest of the campaign, or for good, and it is not a betrayal nor a moral failing to do so
No, not even if there's a precedent for it. Yes, we all know characters can die in dnd but if Laudna being permadead is a dealbreaker for you than that's ok. You're not wrong for being upset and you weren't wrong for watching the show despite that risk. Same goes for if her being ressurected ruins the emotional impact or the stakes for you. This too is part of dnd and of cr, you're still allowed not to like it and decide not to follow the story any further
As special as CR is to so many of us, it is at the end of the day just a show, and you're allowed to have whatever feelings you have about it, regardless if they align with those the cast or other fans
