Someone on the Signum University discord just posted something that makes me feel a lot better about the mithril/leaf thing from last night’s episode:

Which, come to think of it, I think makes more sense than this proving the fading true. If the tree were corrupted due to the Elves' fading, then it should be healed when the Elves are mithrilized, not when the tree itself is. This suggests that what's wrong with the tree is some external poison affected by mithril, not a spiritual connection to the Elves. (From user JJ48)

Also, I’ve been pretty sure the Stranger would turn out to be Gandalf, until Dr. Olsen outlined his theory, “Other Minds and Hands” episode 22, of how the Stranger connects to the weird creepy cultists and how that connection points very strongly to him being one of the Blue Wizards. It actually makes so much sense that I feel the burden of proof now lies on those who still think he’s Gandalf.
