❝ y’know you’re bein’ a real ass right now kid. ❞ he doesn’t know where this behavior had come from. what he’s seen of henry the VERY FEW TIMES he’s been at the kingdom, the kid seemed competent. seemed smart. but this shit? this wasn’t smart. getting his ass locked down here because he tried to fucking party? carol would be pissed if she saw him acting out like this, and he promised her he’d try to be there for henry. ❝ it worth it? riskin’ your life drinkin’ in the woods and stirrin’ up shit? that ain’t why y’here kid. y’wanted t’learn, don’t waste that opportunity. ❞

Henry, chucking a punch at Daryl (hit my muse meme has awakened his complete lack of self preservation and self control)
TOUCH MY MUSE. BE DESCRIPTIVE OR SIMPLE, TENDER OR VIOLENT, FOND OR HATEFUL - ANYTHING GOES.
Daryl turned just as the kid threw a punch, landing it right on his upper cheek and nose. It caused his eyes to go bright white behind his eyelids as he tried to focus on keeping his balance. It took him a couple of seconds to get his wits back about him as he caught Henry’s fist as he tried to land yet another blow.
He pushed him back until the boy’s back was flush against a big Oak tree. He was inches from his face, glaring at him. He would never lay a hand on the kid, but he wasn’t about to let him think he could get away with that shit either. “The fuck you doin’?”
Henry used all of his muscle to push back against the bigger, stronger man, but it was useless. He angrily spat, “The fuck does it look like?”
Daryl snorted, rolling his eyes as he felt a bit of blood trickle from his nose. “Think you’re bein’ a stupid, immature little brat is what it looks like to me.” He shoved the boy and took several steps back, giving the boy enough birth so that he’d have to think about it before he took another swing. “Do it again, and I’ll put you on your ass. Don’t care if you are Carol’s kid.”

HENRY ( @kiingdombled )
“Yes,” Carl takes a sidestep and comes into Henry’s line of view. “If I didn’t, he would’ve killed us!” This kid was too sheltered, and it was going to get him killed. Did Carol not see that?
Holstering his gun, Carl looks down to the man’s body. “Sometimes you gotta kill people in order to survive. I don’t like it, but we have to.” And that’s the truth of it, the truth of this world.

We'll Live A Long Life || Henry & Susie
Starter for @kiingdombled
For a while, things seemed to have gone better. But then they didn't, as much as the adults tried to keep it from her. Susie might have just turned 12, but she wasn't stupid, she noticed stuff. Glenn and Abraham were dead, that much she was sure of, Father Gabriel had told the bad man: Negan, that Maggie was dead, but Susie knew that wasn't true, she'd lost enough family members to know how people acted when that actually happened. If Maggie was dead, then Rick would be upset, and he wasn't, he was angry.
Daryl was gone too, but Susie also knew he wasn't dead because, like with Maggie, no one was crying for him, not like Rosita and Sasha still cried for Abraham.
Wearing Rachel's glasses made her head hurt, but it helped Susie feel less upset about the current situation. Rick had told her she'd be spending some days in one of the other communities– abandoned, that's what Susie thought of it, she was being abandoned because no one had time to take care of her, so she was being sent to some place she didn't know. The Kingdom. That's what Rick said it was called, Susie's first impression at seeing the guards was that they spoke and dressed weird.
Susie carried her backpack herself, staying close to Rick as they walked further into the community and half standing behind him with a man with hair like Michonne's but longer and grey approached them.
"Thank you for agreeing to this," Rick said to the man, who Susie just stared at over the frame of Rachel's glasses. "She won't cause you any trouble."

📔 + judith
judith woke me up because she was hungry. this girl can eat more than her brother if she wants to. i wasn’t gonna give in, but she did skip dessert tonight, so we shared a banana while i cuddled with her in her bed. i ended up eating most of the banana because she kept picking at it, and lately, we don’t waste any food. maybe she had a bad dream, but she wouldn’t lie, something’s been bothering her lately, i’m just not sure what. and she won’t come out and tell me, i can’t force it out of her, she’s old enough to know that she can talk to us about anything. even carl. she wasn’t tired, that’s how i knew something was on her mind, she went on to tell me about an entire adventure she was starting to draw in her sketch book, and it wasn’t just about the drawings in her book. i just can’t believe my sweetheart is ten already.

@kiingdombled said | apricity: (n.) the warmth of the sun in the winter
the sky had been grey and cloudy for the last few days. and while posy loved the snow, she had a snowball fight with some of the others and even built a snow man with lydia, she did miss seeing the sun and feeling the warmth from it hitting her skin. she let out a sigh after a cold breeze hit her face and watched the small fog of breath leave her mouth when she realized it looked brighter outside. the teen grinned and sheiled her eyes to look up at the sun when she felt a presence brhind and glanced back to see henry," it's pretty nice to see the sun ahain." posy offered him a friendly smile and looked back at the snow, the sun rays hitting it made it look like diamonds.

❛ I think I know who you are. ❜
He can feel the twitch of his fingers as the King’s son approaches him. Rick really didn’t know the boy well enough to have any kind of conversation with him prior, but Ezekiel and some of the other Kingdom members needed supplies and Alexandria offered a helping hand. “That so?” Rick asks, his eyes following as the people of these two different communities came together to help before he focuses on Henry again. He seems to be around Carl’s age. Did the two know each other already? “What is it you need help with?” Rick asks, tilting his head just a little.

“ i have … so many questions. ”
@kiingdombled / carol takes a seat at the foot of the bed and offers a smile. ❝ alright, lay ‘em on me. as long as it’s nothing to do with girls. i know there are a few kids your age at hilltop. that’s a talk you need to have with your dad. ❞ chuckles as she folds her hands across her lap. things have been pretty good lately, for most of the groups. can’t say for sure about alexandria, since michonne had pretty much cut contact with most of them. she hopes that they’re doing okay, that judith is okay. often times she wonders if the girl even remembers her. she had to be at least ten years old now...

@kiingdombled ♡ → lydia & henry.
lydia didn’t understand why henry had suddenly decided they should leave hilltop. he hadn’t said much, just told her to follow and she did. he was her only friend after all, and if it meant being away from judgmental eyes? she was all for it. until they arrived at the run down cabin, then she started to question things. started to wonder if there was something more to all this than just a fun little adventure. ❝ henry… why did you bring me here? i mean, what’s gonna happen when they find out i’m no longer locked up? i don’t want you getting in trouble because of me… ❞

Maggie Greene - Hypothetical muse meme
Hypothetical Muse Meme - Send me the name of a fictional character, and I’ll tell you…
the url I would use for their blog: justxfollowinghisxlead
their blog title: Glenn made the decision, Rick. I was just following his lead.
the color scheme I would use for their blog: Something earth/water toned. Probably brown, blue, and some kind of orange.
another character I’d be excited to interact with and why: Glenn. I’d most likely want to have him survive Negan and get to see his son being born and survive with his family.
how my icons would look: (either a description or an example) I’m not huge on using icons so I don’t have an example of a Maggie icon, but they’d be cropped nicely and the color would depend on the image being used.

“Don’t be such an asshole all the time, man.” Walking over to the window, Carl peeks through the glass, watching as most of the citizens of Hilltop have gone in for the evening. He promised Daryl he’d stay here until the others got back and in case Enid needed an extra set of hands, he’d also be able to help her. As he went to check another room, he heard Henry’s comment about babysitting, and he couldn’t help but shove the other teen’s leg with the toe of his boot as he walks by. “Man, you’re such a dick.” he whispers.

(from betaofthedead) 😏: What angst tropes are you a sucker for? // 👿: What are your muse(s)’ fatal flaws? Any wishlists to do with them?
😏: What angst tropes are you a sucker for?
Ugh theres so many but one i’ve been an absolute sucker for lately here and on @kiingdombled is muses partner dies or leaves, leaving them with a newborn to look after on their own.
👿: What are your muse(s)’ fatal flaws? Any wishlists to do with them?
It definitely used to be his temper, that’s gotten him in serious trouble and gotten people killed before. Even up until Ricks death his temper was getting people into trouble and killed and I think it probably caused a lot of issues when he was in charge of sanctuary too. It’s important to note that his temper is a direct response to his trauma and still flares up when he’s been triggered so there are instances when he’s more likely to lash out angrily (bob’s alcoholism is probably the clearest example of this though his conflicts with the former saviors after the war is a good example too). I don’t really have anything specific that comes up in relation to this on my wish list though

What's Your Role In A Found Family Dynamic?
Noah
the brains
people are not so much your forte. you are more at home with thoughts, ideas, hobbies, skills. as such, you probably have to learn how to work well with others--but once you do, hey, it has its moments. while you are treasured for your ability to solve problems, people also have this unique love of novelty. when you break from your schedule, when you say something no one is expecting--that's novel. you are as curious and lovable as the subjects you study. you are family. this place is not the same without your witty comments and wry observations. you definitely feel more comfortable when someone needs a straightforward answer than a shoulder to cry on, but it's not impossible to give both. know that your family loves you for more than that, though, and will (usually) remember to respect your boundaries.
Lori Grimes
the protective one
it does not require much for you to take someone under your wing. you have a knack for seeing the best in others and rooting for them, and they look up to you in turn. they feel that you are safe to go to in times of chaos or strife, and are calmed by your presence. you take extra measures to make sure everyone feels supported. things that others might not even consider, you have already likely accounted for. in most scenarios, you are "the leader." your struggles tend to come from your desire to provide things to others. you want to give, to see those you love happy, to make wherever you are a place of comfort. your failures hit you hard because you see this as your responsibility, and you hate to let people down. ...okay, yes, there's no avoiding it: this is the parent friend.
Javier García
the hermit who helps
at first, you were a resource for the established characters to turn to, but you quickly began to steal the show due to your personality, your usefulness, or your inherently interesting perspective on life. you were pretty much already able to provide for yourself, but the next thing you know, these people are growing on you. instead of asking favors, it becomes an invitation to socialize. you find yourself sticking around for no apparent reason other than you like it here. the people are fun to watch, if nothing else, but ultimately they're just--oh no. oh no, you care about them. you always thought you stayed away from this "relationship" stuff for a reason. it gets messy and isn't worth it unless it really works. for some reason, this group really works. these weirdos are now your weirdos, and if anything happens to them, there will be hell to pay. you were basically already looking after them before this, after all. welcome to the family, hermit.

James
the silent sufferer
you love your friends, but the truth is, you go through most of the real things alone. it's better that no one sees you like this. you'll be fine, really, because you're used to feeling this way. it'll pass. it always does. that's what you believe, anyway. you're more likely to give someone advice on a lesson you've learned without telling them how you learned it. you've come to realize that, if they're coming to you for advice, they'll be too preoccupied to ask. it stings, but it's... that's just the way feelings work sometimes. when you're around others, most of these problems seem to vanish, and you're better able to love the person you are. only on the worst days do you continue to hear that insistent whisper that it's, "all a lie because they don't know what's *really* going on." it's not a lie. you are loved. those moments together are real. there are times when you can afford not to be so strong.

the heart full of faith
at some point in your life, you've probably been told you're "the glue" keeping a certain group of people together. you look on the bright side of things. you are able to convince someone that everything will be alright. your (found) family walks away from you feeling strengthened by your faith and--let's face it--wisdom. hopefully, you aren't being taken for granted in this. keeping morale up comes naturally to you. you probably do plenty without even realizing it. you're a good listener, thoughtful, kind. even leaders come to you for guidance. you may or may not be keen on being in charge yourself, but you are trustworthy, and you do right by the people who depend on you. the only person you can't always see clearly is yourself. it's easy to tell someone their potential but incredibly difficult to realize your own. you need the support of others just as much as they need you--but once you're put to the test, you'll realize you had the right stuff in you all along.
