Park Seo Joon’s Filmography: A list of his must-watch iconic roles before he stars in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Park Seo Joon's talent agency, The Awesome ENT, revealed that he would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he left South Korea last September 3 to start filming. It had been months before speculations surfaced that the 32-year-old South Korean actor would make his first Hollywood debut.
However, the details of his character and the film he will appear in have yet to be confirmed. It will be Park's first leading role in a big American movie. He will join Claudia Kim from Avengers: Age of Ultron and Don Lee from Eternal, as the third South Korean actor to star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
We believe that not all Marvel Cinematic Universe Fans are familiar with Park Seo Joon. In 2011, he made his debut appearance in the music video for "I Remember." Then, in 2012, he had his first television appearance in the second season of the hit teen musical drama "Dream High." After a decade in the industry, he has established himself as a well-known leading man and dubbed as the Master of Rom-Com. He also has a million followers in social media, making him the first Asian man to endorse multinational brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Montblanc, Bench, and others.
Before his appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, let us give you a reason to know more about Park Seo Joon through his popular Korean dramas.

First, Itaewon Class is a JTBC and Netflix series based on the webtoon with the same name, aired last January 31 to March 31, 2020, with sixteen episodes. 
Despite the obstacles in their lives, Park Sae-ro-yi, an ex-convict, and his friends turned their dreams into a reality. Sae-ro-yi avenges his father after he dies in a motorcycle accident caused by the Son of the Jangga (restaurant business) CEO Jung Dae Hee. Sae-ro-yi was arrested and sentenced to prison for violent assault, motivating him to build his pub in Itaewon, Seoul, South Korea, as revenge against the Jangga Company.
This Drama teaches an important lesson and is a must-watch because no matter how hopeless things appear, you are free to chase and keep your dreams alive.

Second, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim is a romantic comedy-drama where Park Seo-Joon performed as Lee Young-Joon's deputy head of a large corporation. His world is shaken, as his secretary announces one day that after nine years of working for Lee Young-Joon, she will resign from her position. The series was broadcasted on the TVN with 16 episodes from June 6 to July 26, 2018. It was also available in 2018 on Netflix.
     The series was a smash and loved by many people because of its fantastic storyline, and Park did well in portraying Lee Young-Joon that is unbelievably ridiculous and selfish. He does a great job of humanizing young Joon and giving a new heart and witty humor. He was considered in the press as "Master of the romantic comedy" by the reviewers for his portrayal. 
   It is a must-watch series since many loved it because of how the story made them cry, laugh, rattle, and sad in every episode. You will genuinely love this series due to its intriguing growth of stories and colorful actors' performances. It will bring you into a deep meaning of love and make you realize many things, like how love can truly transform us into something, that love can transform us into who we are.

The third is the 2017 drama Fight for My Way. This KBS2 Drama talks about the lives of four best friends, how they grew together, and their journey in reaching their dreams. Park Seo Joon got many award nominations for his character here, and he even won the Outstanding Korean Actor award at the 13th (thirteenth) Seoul National Drama awards. The Drama is also available on Netflix.
Seo Joon plays the character Ko Dong Man, a once successful Taekwondo player, but due to a traumatic incident, his career looked like it was done for, now he only is a regular contract employee. But, as the Drama progresses, he returns to doing what he is passionate about and starting over as an unknown mixed martial arts fighter fighting for a UFC title. Along the way, he chased his dream. He fell in love with his best friend Choi Ae Ra, a prestigious department store employee who dreams of being a television anchor.
Fight for My Way will indeed have you laughing and crying with the plot of this Drama. You will feel for the main characters while you see them struggle with their dreams, laugh at the comedic scenes portrayed, and most especially, feel the butterflies in your stomach when you know the relationship of Ae Ra and Dong Man.

Fourth, Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth is a KBS2 historical drama series with 20 episodes and was released last December 19, 2016, until February 21, 2017.
Moo Myung, a lowly birth who ascended to become the head of Hwarang, was played by Park Seo Joon. During the turmoil of the Silla Kingdom, a group of young men finds their passion and brotherhood despite coming from different social classes.
This Drama has a chill bromance story, and Moo Hyung showed us how to live like there's no tomorrow, and he will do anything to protect his lover. Plus, it is a drama worth giving a chance at because of the handsome cast that every fangirl needs.

Fifth, She was pretty is a romantic comedy that aired on MBC from September 16 to November 11, 2015, and it became available on Netflix in 2015. The series is based on a true story about two friends from bygone days who meet again after a reversal of fortune and appearances set in the background of the publishing house of the fashion magazine. Park Seo-Joon (Ji Sung-Joon) was a distasteful boy who had low self-esteem but grew up as a beautiful and successful publisher. 
The series has kept its charm and comedy throughout. It remains in the fans' minds and hearts due to its incredible plot and actors' beautiful works, especially Park Seo-Joon. You could learn so much from this Drama. It has a message that will touch the audience's hearts when they look at it. It would make the viewer reflect and understand the importance of self-love and facing your fears and problems in life, and loving yourself more than anyone is very important. It will provide you self-confidence, self-worth, and everything will follow.

Lastly is the 2015 drama Kill Me, Heal me, which talks about serious topics that are not usually addressed in a conservative country like South Korea, like Dissociative Personality Disorder and child abuse.
  Park Seo Joon plays Oh Ri On, a mystery novel author who investigates the life of the main protagonist Cha Do Hyun. Do Hyun is a chaebol heir with Dissociative Personality Disorder due to past traumatic events in his life. It makes his life even harder with these seven personalities living inside of him. Aiding him with his seven personalities in secret is the first-year psychiatric student Oh Ri Jin, who is also the twin sister of Oh Ri On.
This MBC Drama will surely keep you hooked with the chemistry the main leads have and will also have you laughing at the comedic scenes they portray here.

In addition to the Korean series played by Park Seo-Joon. A South Korean black comedy thriller film entitled Parasite was released in South Korea by CJ Entertainment on May 30, 2019. Park played the role of Min Hyuk, who studied in a wealthy family at a top university. This film is well-known for its incredible storyline.
According to Director Bong Joon Ho, his role is almost an outside world person, and he decided to take the role of Park Seo-Joon. And even though he is just a cameo in this film, he portrayed it successfully. He constantly shows his talent naturally and yet incredibly and astonishingly to his audience. 
Park Seo Joon has come a long way from his humble beginnings, he has shown diverse characters throughout his career, and we are indeed looking forward to more. Now that he is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we are all surely waiting to see how he will bring his character to life and portray his character. We can't wait to see more of him!
