#Kolhapur is an important city in the state of Maharashtra, situated on the banks of the Panchganga river and surrounded by a quiet Sahyadri mountain range. Kolhapur is considered as the religious pride of Maharashtra because the city is famous for its beautiful temples. This place is known as South Kashi. Kolhapur has historical significance and before the Indian independence, Chhatrapati Bhosale (Bhosle royal dynasty) of the Maratha Empire. Mahalaxmi Temple is the main and important attraction of Kolhapur. Built by the Chalukyas ruler in the 7th century. The Mahalakshmi Temple is considered to be one of the six incarnations of 'Shakti' (goddess of power), where everyone's wishes are fulfilled. Mahalakshmi Devi is also known as Ambabai and is the most venerable deity of Hindus. Meanwhile, a new palace was built in Kolhapur and it became a major attraction for tourists. Made of black polished stone, this is an architectural masterpiece. Spread over a large area with gardens, fountains, and wrestling grounds, Chhatrapati Shahu is the direct descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire. The building is a tower in the center of an octagonal shape, with a clock, which was fixed in 1877. Jyotiba Temple is a sacred Hindu temple near Wadi Ratnagiri in Kolhapur. The temple is named after the deity Jyotiba (Dattatreya), who is the incarnation of Trudev (Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesha) and Jamadagni. Kolhapuri chappals are Indian hand-crafted leather slippers that are locally tanned using vegetable dyes. Kolhapuri Chappals or Kolhapuri s as they are commonly referred to are a style of open-toed, T-strap sandal. This thushi is famously known as BROAD PATTA THUSHI or NECKLACE PATTA KOLHAPURI THUSHI. made up of different sizes of beads it's thick and fills you with a complete traditional look.
