“Yeah, so put your arms in the air like that and then cross them at the wrist.”

He doesn’t respond, but wraps one hand around where your wrists are and pushes them back

He lets out another nervous giggle before glancing down at your lips.

“I thought I was gonna be a lot cooler than this,” he admits, and you can’t help but coo at how cute he looks.

Very on brand, you think, for your boyfriend to try and be hot and end up flustering himself.

“Well what’s the next part of the challenge, maybe you haven’t failed,” you tell him, already having a pretty good idea what was coming with the way he was looking at you.

He smiles as he leans down, connecting his lips to yours and you realize he’s still holding your wrists, effectively making you squeeze your eyes shut tighter

“Did it work? Do you think I’m hot?” He questions, a giddy look in his eyes after pulling away.

You look up at where your wrists are in his hand and then back at his eyes. He seemed to forget he was holding them until you had done so, and he quickly let go.

“The hottest,” you giggle, trying to hide how much it actually affected you and leaning in for another kiss.

Slipped Confession

gn reader, 993 words, a lot of backstory but fluff, warnings: drinking (jay is drunk) and mention of injury (Jake almost gives himself a concussion) for the birthday boy <3

You weren’t sure what you were expecting when you went out with the boys to celebrate Jay’s birthday. Fun with your friends, some unwinding from a stressful week at work, maybe even some drinks to get the party started.

It sure as heck wasn’t a drunk birthday boy who wouldn’t listen to anyone but you.

“Let’s dance!” Jay shouts, and Sunghoon and Jake immediately follow along, the two of them being just about as gone as he is.

“No you can’t-”

“No you can’t-”

Jungwon tries to stop them, but they’ve already disappeared by the time he starts talking.

“Yn why didn’t you stop them,” he whines, softly smacking your arm.

“Because I know them, they’re gonna end up tripping over each other and coming back in like twenty minutes. As long as they don’t challenge someone to a dance battle we’ll be fine.”

Jungwon groans, already over the festivities. Your group has been in the club for two hours, the dance floor is packed, and the music is glaringly loud right in his ear.

There was only one thing that could be louder than the music, and that was drunk Jay.

“I challenge you to a dance battle!!”

You and Jungwon both look at each other with wide eyes, immediately racing off to find your disastrous friend.

There’s a spot cleared on the floor when you arrive, and Jake is in the middle trying to breakdance while Jay and Sunghoon hype him up from the sides.

You can’t help but laugh at the scene, joining in on the cheering while watching your friend flail on the floor.

The boys were actually good dancers, you don’t know why they try to become breakdancers everytime they find themselves in a dance battle (which is unfortunately actually quite often).

Jake drops himself on his head while trying to do a head spin and your laughter immediately cuts off, watching him lay there in fear that he just gave himself a concussion.

“THAT WAS AWESOME DID YOU SEE THAT??” He gets up after a solid minute and a half, and you can’t help but stare at Jungwon in bewilderment at what just happened.

“Okay I think it’s time we take them home.”

Jungwon agrees, and you help Jake up from the floor while he goes over to the hype squad.

“No! I don’t wanna!” You hear Jay fighting like a little kid after helping Jake up, and one look from Jungwon (that looks suspiciously like a “come get your man” look) has you switching J’s.

“Jongseongie, you have to go home now,” you tell him in your sweetest voice.

“We have to go home?”

You noticed the changed word.

“No honey, you. I’m gonna call you an Uber and make sure the nice driver drops you off at home.”

“No!” He’s yelling again, and you drag him off the dance floor so people stop staring. “Not going unless you do!”

“I’ve got dumb and dumber, are you good with getting Jay home?” Jungwon appears next to you.

You look at the birthday boy, who’s now clinging to your arm.

“Yeah. I got him,” you laugh.

Soon enough the two of you are in an Uber, and you give the driver Jay’s address while said boy lays almost passed out on your shoulder.

You ghost your fingers over his scalp to keep him relaxed on the ride, and you can’t help but laugh when you have to wake him up once you arrive.

“Birthday Boy,” you coo in his ear, “you’re home.”

He wakes up, giving you a bleary smile as soon as the two of you make eye contact.

You have to get out first, and as soon as Jay is standing he leans his weight on you, letting you half carry him into his house.

You reach into his pockets to grab his keys and unlock the door before entering and taking him straight to his bedroom.

Once he’s standing on his own you turn around, telling him he needs to change into his pajamas.

“Why? I don’t want to go to sleep, I want to hang out with you!”

“Later. We can hang out another day, right now you have to put on your pajamas and go to bed.”

He doesn’t say anything, but when he enters your field of vision again he’s in his silk pajamas, the same ones you teased him for at your first sleepover.

“Do you want some water? I’ll go grab you a glass, lay down.”

He immediately listens to your order, climbing into his bed while you travel to the kitchen and back.

“I’ll leave this glass here so you can reach it, I’m gonna go home.”

“Wait.”

When you turn to look at him you can tell he’s sobered up some, his pupils not nearly as wide as they were before, and the way he’s looking at you has blood rushing to your cheeks.

“If I asked you to stay, would you?”

You look at the fondness in his eyes, and the way he scoots over in his bed to create room next to him.

“Please?”

A smile crosses your face. You’ve never been good at telling Jay no.

“Okay, just let me change first.”

You steal a pair of his sweats and a tee shirt, eventually climbing in next to him.

As soon as you get comfortable there’s a weight on your chest, and you look down to see Jay laying his head on you, arms wrapped around your torso like he thinks you’ll get up and leave at any moment.

“Is this okay?” He asks of the position, to which you immediately reassure him.

“Of course, you just go to sleep, okay?”

He mumbles in response, already drifting out of consciousness.

“I love you.”

Your hands stop their trail up and down his back, but he's already gone, asleep before he can hear your response to the confession he didn't mean to let slip.

“I love you too.”
