The sand of the arena was well-trodden but cool when both Trainers walked into it, one on two legs, the other on four.

A Scientist, and a Knight.

They discussed the rules beforehand:

The Battle was to be casual, for fun, and on even footing.

The Knight could not use her Blade or Plate, nor her access to Surges or Stormlight, but only the powers that her form possessed; not the Light of the High Storm that scoured her home, but the storm within her, born of this world she Fell to.

The Scientist stood at one end; the Knight and her Team, her squires, on the other.

And so it begins…
