I don't understand the discourse surrounding the idea that the Demon Bull Family + Macaque weren't made to face consequences for their actions when Wukong is constantly being treated like a villain... because... that's literally not true? like at all?

Macaque and DBK were actually villains; their whole relationship with MK up until the more recent episodes was antagonistic. It was normal for them to attack or hurt the main characters. The show doesn't need the main characters to shout "Macaque, attacking and tricking MK was kind of screwed up" because... he knows that?

The entire cast knows that?

The reason that the consequences of their past actions aren’t thrown in their face is because MK isn't the kind of person to hold a person's mistakes over their heads. He could have called them out on it, but does he really need to? I mean, attempting to punch someone in the face doesn't exactly scream "I'm fine with your actions." He was mad; furious even... but he chose to look past it in the end.

That's what sets MK apart.

It would be normal to turn up your nose at someone who treated you like the DBK/Macaque have treated MK. I feel like that's kind of the point? Neither of them earned their redemption - it was just something MK offered to them because he likes making friends more than he likes keeping enemies.

He's a "good kid" as Macaque put it.

He didn't owe them anything, but he still offered an olive branch.

The reason nobody else calls them out on it?

Well, MK is their friend; they trust him completely and will always have his back. If MK decides he's willing to move past what happened and offer someone a clean slate, then his friends will do the same. You best believe that Mei and Pigsy wouldn't hesitate to tear Macaque or DBK a new one if MK got hurt again, though. It's not about forgetting what happened, just looking past it and letting them choose how they want to proceed.

It's different for Wukong, though.

The reason why Mei was so mad at Wukong wasn't because he was somehow worse than Macaque or DBK. If it were anyone else, she wouldn't have been using her words; she would have gone straight to throwing punches. No. She was mad at him because he MK was upset. She knows MK is tough; someone will kick him in the stomach and he'll offer them a bowl of noodles. She knows that, because she knows her friend.

What really gets to MK though his self-doubt, his insecurities, the trust he has in the people closest to him. She was mad because she couldn't protect MK, but more-so because she relied on Wukong to do the same. DBK can't break MK. Macaque can't break MK. Make him sad or furious, sure... but break him? No. Wukong? Wukong could break him. If his lie had resulted in Mei's death there was zero percent chance that MK would have been alright.

It was obvious Wukong hadn’t intended to hurt him, but he almost did and she was kind of upset about it!

Is this making sense to anyone?

I mean... ???

I honestly feel like way too many people are mistaking MK's characterization as a kind and forgiving person who can turn enemies into friends as narrative approval, and Wukong’s characterization as someone who takes the idea of “protecting” his loved ones a little too far and ends up keeping them in the dark instead/the cast’s reactions to this as narrative disapproval.

I never felt as though the show was making the argument that SWK was a bad person. It just feels like he’s a hero who got used to handling all the world’s problems on his own and expects too much of himself because of it, relearning how to connect and share burdens with other people… and I’m pretty sure that’s what they were going for?

He was never perfect but even Macaque, who literally hated him, has started to reevaluate the way he sees Wukong and even almost went so far as defending him when they were in the scroll.

On the opposite end of things, Macaque and DBK are villains who are trying to be better people because MK saw and acknowledged that potential in them, and it made them want to do better.

Is that just me? am I crazy? hello?

Omegaverse in Lego Monkie Kid

Unlike my Yanderes of Lego Monkie Kid post, this will just be me explaining what second gender I think the characters would have in an Omegerverse AU.

Warnings: Omegaverse, Second Gender, Gender Issues, Trans Second Gender, Mentions of MPreg

Characters: Sun Wukong, MK, Pigsy, Tang, Mei, Sandy, Demon Bull King, Princess Iron Fan, Red Son, Spider Queen, Hunts Man, Strong Spider, Syntax, Spindrax, Lady Bone Demon, Mayor, Yin, Jin, Macaque, Rumble and Savage.

Second Genders: Apex Alpha, Alpha, Beta, Omega, Fecund Omega.

Sun Wukong is an Apex Alpha. He can lead a pack of Alphas. He is stronger than a average Alpha and that is why he is a Apex Alpha. Even though he could lead a pack of Alphas, his pack are the wild baby monkeys. He has no desire to lead.

MK is born Omega at birth but transitioned as a teenager to be an Alpha. He got kicked out of his home for this and he found himself being adopted by Pigsy who does not care that MK is Trans.

Pigsy is an Alpha, he is just mellowed out. He believes in the mindset you shouldn’t be forcing Omega’s to be ones mate. Too bad he isn’t the best at couting.

Tang is an Omega. Pigsy’s Omega but in platonic way. He is Asexual(within this context it also means he doesn’t have heats). He is marked by Pigsy but it is to make sure no Alpha’s try anything with him.

Mei is an Beta. She is very supportive of her friends but has no interest of being a leader. She doesn’t state her second gender to people however as she does not see it as important.

Sandy is a Fecund Omega, which means he is highly fertile. He has not told this to anyone besides Pigsy who is the only Alpha he trusts. He is AroAce(again with this context it means he doesn’t have heast) and has no desire to have children with anyone. He uses many scent blockers so no one can tell he is an Omega.

Mk, Pigsy, Tang, Mei, and Dandy are in the same pack together. It’s more of a family unit but they are all in denial about it.

Demon Bull King is an Apex Alpha, and sees Wukong as his rvial. His pack is the Demon Bull Family and he sits at the very top.

Princess Iron Fan is an Alpha which originally did surprise a lot of people when she married DBK, as they thought he would want a submissive omega. She is powerful and likes being so. She supports her husband and will do everything he commands but they do see each other as equals.

Red Son is also an Alpha what a shocker. Both his parents were Alphas so it would’ve been seen as weird if they didn’t have an alpha child. However, Red Son likes the touch of soft pillows.

The Bull Clones are all Betas within the giant pack. They are made from lava. The Demon Bull Family does not allow Omega’s within their pack.

Spider Queen is an Apex Alpha, one of the rare female Apex Alphas. She is seen less than other Apex Alphas because of her failed pack, back in the the day.

Huntsman is and Alpha though he does get mistaken for an Beta. He day dreams that one day the pack will have a pack’s omega.

Strong Spider is a Beta. He listens to orders but doesn’t like commanding.

Syntax is also a Beta but acts like an Alpha at times. He wants to command but it isn’t his strong suit. He can be sexist towards Omegas and claims they are nothing but for breeding.

If you count Spindrax as canon, she is Spider Queen’s Omega daughter. She does act like her mother and so people mistake her for an Alpha at times, but she is an Omega. She has beaten the shit out of Syntax many times for his comments.

The Demon Spider are a pack, and even though technically Spindrax in an Omega, she is the Apex’s daughter. The pack is looking for an Omega who can serve the pack, who would do cleaning, washing, cooking, and be there for emotional subport.

Lady Bone Demon is an Apex Alpha, but her host body is an Beta. She wants to be in control but her host body is very limiting.

Mayor is a Beta, he was made to simple serve LBD.

Yin and Jin are Beta Twins. They do compete a lot but their mother is an Alpha sp when sh enters into the room they shut up.

Macaque is an Alpha. He originally was part of Wukong’s pack but go picked out. He was alone Alpha for a long time, like LBD granted him his own pack with the Shadow Monkeys!

The Shadow Monkeys are Rumble and Savage are yet to be determined, for now I’m going to say Betas until we see something in the show. I am willing to put them up to Alphas but we will have to see.
