I think there should be an Elden Ring mod called "Torrent is useless" and instead of being able to ride him, when you summon him he just goes to find grass and starts grazing. I think it would suck. I think it would be funny.
ALTERNATE VERSION: He works normally but if you acquire the frenzied flame, he disapproves and does the above.

Why did the designers give Wukong such impressive eyelashes? I mean thank you, damn… but like… what compelled them to make him so 👀

Another thing about the LMK discourse is that the Monkie Crew weren't exactly "chill" with the Bull Fam or Macaque after they're 'redeemed"; they dogpiled Red when he landed on their ship in Revenge of the Spider Queen, refused to work with him until MK pointed out he's their best bet in this situation, and where still scared by the rest of the family by season 3, and are only really comfortable with them by season 4. As for Macaque, MK was still on the fence about him by season 4, and was openly annoyed by him repeating past behavior with his lesson to MK until Mac explained what he meant, and he wasn't exactly "buddy buddy" with the others in that season, where you can explain them being willing to work with him as "the world is ending and we need all the help we can get". Also yes, the crew disapproving of their actions should go without saying honestly.
Yes. ^ This.

I don't understand the discourse surrounding the idea that the Demon Bull Family + Macaque weren't made to face consequences for their actions when Wukong is constantly being treated like a villain... because... that's literally not true? like at all?
Macaque and DBK were actually villains; their whole relationship with MK up until the more recent episodes was antagonistic. It was normal for them to attack or hurt the main characters. The show doesn't need the main characters to shout "Macaque, attacking and tricking MK was kind of screwed up" because... he knows that?
The entire cast knows that?
The reason that the consequences of their past actions aren’t thrown in their face is because MK isn't the kind of person to hold a person's mistakes over their heads. He could have called them out on it, but does he really need to? I mean, attempting to punch someone in the face doesn't exactly scream "I'm fine with your actions." He was mad; furious even... but he chose to look past it in the end.
That's what sets MK apart.
It would be normal to turn up your nose at someone who treated you like the DBK/Macaque have treated MK. I feel like that's kind of the point? Neither of them earned their redemption - it was just something MK offered to them because he likes making friends more than he likes keeping enemies.
He's a "good kid" as Macaque put it.
He didn't owe them anything, but he still offered an olive branch.
The reason nobody else calls them out on it?
Well, MK is their friend; they trust him completely and will always have his back. If MK decides he's willing to move past what happened and offer someone a clean slate, then his friends will do the same. You best believe that Mei and Pigsy wouldn't hesitate to tear Macaque or DBK a new one if MK got hurt again, though. It's not about forgetting what happened, just looking past it and letting them choose how they want to proceed.
It's different for Wukong, though.
The reason why Mei was so mad at Wukong wasn't because he was somehow worse than Macaque or DBK. If it were anyone else, she wouldn't have been using her words; she would have gone straight to throwing punches. No. She was mad at him because he MK was upset. She knows MK is tough; someone will kick him in the stomach and he'll offer them a bowl of noodles. She knows that, because she knows her friend.
What really gets to MK though his self-doubt, his insecurities, the trust he has in the people closest to him. She was mad because she couldn't protect MK, but more-so because she relied on Wukong to do the same. DBK can't break MK. Macaque can't break MK. Make him sad or furious, sure... but break him? No. Wukong? Wukong could break him. If his lie had resulted in Mei's death there was zero percent chance that MK would have been alright.
It was obvious Wukong hadn’t intended to hurt him, but he almost did and she was kind of upset about it!
Is this making sense to anyone?
I mean... ???
I honestly feel like way too many people are mistaking MK's characterization as a kind and forgiving person who can turn enemies into friends as narrative approval, and Wukong’s characterization as someone who takes the idea of “protecting” his loved ones a little too far and ends up keeping them in the dark instead/the cast’s reactions to this as narrative disapproval.
I never felt as though the show was making the argument that SWK was a bad person. It just feels like he’s a hero who got used to handling all the world’s problems on his own and expects too much of himself because of it, relearning how to connect and share burdens with other people… and I’m pretty sure that’s what they were going for?
He was never perfect but even Macaque, who literally hated him, has started to reevaluate the way he sees Wukong and even almost went so far as defending him when they were in the scroll.
On the opposite end of things, Macaque and DBK are villains who are trying to be better people because MK saw and acknowledged that potential in them, and it made them want to do better.
Is that just me? am I crazy? hello?

Huh. Interesting. It’s hard to read but… I wonder if it’s an alias?
I’m confused, is the well dressed woman in the suit Nu Wa? Her name is Lady Yu on the box… did everyone just randomly decide she was Nu Wa?

If Wukong and MK fight in S5, I can’t imagine Wukong fighting back. How could he? I don’t think he would let MK hurt people; he’d put himself between his apprentice and the others and take a beating, but I don’t think he’d hurt him. If anything he would feel responsible and would just get stuck and not be able to choose.
In addition to that, some people think MK’s going to fall to the dark-side but I can’t see it actually happening. It’s something that’s already on his mind, and he seems to have really taken Macaque’s advice on “doing something else” and forging your own path. He wouldn’t intentionally lean into chaos, but I could definitely see him losing control.
MK sees his new powers and identity as something out of his control; something forced on him. He’s swinging between reckless abandon and being too afraid to do act. If he feels cornered or is out of options, he’s not going to handle it well.
He’ll probably try to get the others to abandon him because he’s dangerous, but that will never happen. He might put up a good fight, but eventually he’ll have to decide whether or to keep fighting and hurting the people he loves, or fight off the dark part of his heart and take control.
I’d like to see Wukong take full ownership of his past mistakes and prevent MK from doing something he regrets by protecting his friends; even if it means he gets his ass kicked and even if MK is the one he’s protecting them from. That would be brutal, lol.

Wait… wait… what if MK isn’t supposed to exist? I’m sitting here thinking about the themes of chaos and order - destiny - and what we do and don’t know about MK and I thought;
“What if LBD’s dream of the future wasn’t wrong?”
What if she WAS destined to succeed?
What if she WAS meant to remake the world?
What if MK is something like a “glitch in the matrix” and his entire existence serves to “derail” fate from its intended course? That would make him a harbinger of chaos, true, but it doesn’t necessarily have a negative connotation in that context.
He could alter the course of fate for better or for worse, and if the parties that be are aware of this information, I’m sure they would do anything and everything to railroad MK into securing the future they desire for themselves.
I’m losing my mind thinking about this…

So… how old is Nezha? I see a lot of shipping discourse about it and while I’m not invested in that rodeo it did make me curious, though I wasn’t able to find a clear answer.
The one thing I was able to parse was that Nezha is typically depicted as a child or young teen, but nothing seemed to indicate that he would never grow up or age whatsoever. Sometimes the opposite seems true as some estimates state that he’s around 7 while others put him at around 13 which seems to imply that he does age - albeit slowly.
Is it that although Nezha is TECHNICALLY able to age and grow older, his connection with youth and children is so strong that he can’t (or shouldn’t) be separated from that? or is it that he doesn’t age and the different estimates were inaccurate somehow?

Hmm... maybe I don’t need to write a new fic. I could just do PT.2 and not ONLY write some actual ShadowPeach content, but also add the esteemed villain. Hmm. 🤔

Who is this mysterious character? I’m thinking about writing another fan-fiction with the same basic premise as “At Arms Length” but I want it to hit a lot harder, and I want the stakes to be higher. What raises the stakes better than a new villain? Meet the Maiden Coral Demon or the “Coral Maiden” as some call her.
Spoilers under the cut for a fan-fiction that might never even get written:
This woman is a menace. I would say that she’s like Spider Queen if Spider Queen were 30% more unhinged but that doesn’t quite do her justice. There is no record of her in historical documents and her capabilities are unknown, so who is she and where does she come from?
She hails from the South China sea and was born from a dying coral reef. You could describe her as a vindictive and unpredictable individual who has no allegiance to anyone but herself. She’s an assassin by nature, and was born with the ability to breathe palytoxin but learned to produce a myriad of different poisons over a long period by ingesting any new toxic or poisonous substances that she encountered.
Her weapon of choice is the Assassin’s Needle - on one end of a fine chain that can extend indefinitely is a long, nigh-indestructible needle/blade, and on the other is a magical crystal sphere that can conceal the presence of the person holding it - making them almost impossible to hear or see.
Her preferred method of killing people is coating the needle with one of her many poisons and either throwing it like a dart, or using it like a dagger in close quarters to stab or poison her foes. She is capable of growing coral in bodies of water and using them to fill extremely large areas with poisonous fog.
Her ultimate goal is to eradicate all sentient life - celestial beings, other demons, and mortals as well. She believes that complex thought inevitably leads to one becoming selfish and taking from nature, and has no care for her own life aside from achieving her ultimate goal. She would have eventually caught the attention of Sun Wukong and the Celestial Realm, but was actually sealed by the Lady Bone Demon before achieving notoriety.
The two encountered one another several times and although their goals seemed similar on the surface, Lady Bone Demon viewed Maiden Coral Demon’s nondiscriminatory hatred towards all intelligent life as a threat to her ultimate goals and thus froze her in a chunk of ice hidden deep within one of her temples. Maiden Coral Demon was unknowingly freed when the heroes defeated Lady Bone Demon, and thus returns to pursue her original goal.
NOTE:
I didn’t want her to appear over-powered or for her to pose a threat similar to Lady Bone Demon, so it was interesting to come up with a villain who could fill that role. I figure that perhaps it doesn’t need to be a matter of power rather than methodology; she fights in a very “hands-off” manner and doesn’t ever need to face the heroes head-on to achieve her goals.
Her poison coral blooms and lack of definable presence allow her to wreak havoc from miles away and observe from the sidelines, and you never quite know when she’ll decide to show her face. If they want to defeat her, they have to corner her, and to corner her, they have to find her - all while dealing with the effects of her poison.
I think it poses an interesting dynamic with Macaque being the main character as well, as she senses a similar desire in him to see the world burn. Naturally Macaque has no interest in working with her, but it makes him ask questions about who he is and who he wants to be. The world has done nothing for either of them, but he still wants to believe in things like trust and loyalty whereas Maiden Coral Demon has long since abandoned those aspirations.
