yeah lmao. spoilers for my own fic i guess

IDK if you guys care about this or not, but when I wrote the original outline in 2021 I basically came up with 1. the chapter titles and then 2. how every chapter ends... So I basically have a bunch of bench marks of "The characters have to be in the emotional space for this kind of scene" for each chapter... Part of the reason Chapter 4 is so long compared to other chapters is because I just have to move KDJ like a lot more spaces from the end of chapter 3 to get to rooftop scene -_-;

Unlike chapter 3 he's not allowed to be just kind of going along until he gets the shock of his life, he kind of just has to get tased enough until he's used to the new status quo because that's where the end of the chapter starts... In chapter 3 the disruption of the status quo is just he adopts kids and then yjh fucking carpet bombs his apartment but in chapter 4 i had to establish what the status quo is with kdj and his friends and his work life, which takes a bit bc, you know, three distinct characters with their own specific impacts on his life and goals in their relationship with him, while simultaneously having the YJH nuclear warhead beginning to destruct it... and then I have to reconstruct new status quo which is what chapter 4.4 is...

point being this is all stuff im only realizing about chapter 4 now after I've written a good portion of it... rooftop scene will probably have to be rewritten a bit bc I don't know if I still approve of me 90k ago's writing choices...
