#doom #lines i did #there we go as per the poll here is the first part of that doom comic ive meant to draw forever #i want to do a little comic for ALL the text panels but #will i even ever finish the 2nd and 3rd pages of this? we will see! #i might want to clean this up a bit first tho tbh

love it when the nightmare hell dimension makes the guy worse

-his lips are usually bloody. this is because his jaw's deformed and teeth grown/shifted so that if he tries to close his mouth, he cuts his lips/gums. and even not counting that, he still can't close his mouth all the way.

-his left arm was almost severed. he knew he shouldve, but he couldn't quite bring himself to amputate it himself. a couple days later the sinews began growing out of his arm, sewing the wound closed. then they kept growing. his arm is still in there, but with the injury and extended disuse, it's extremely atrophied. the tendrils do most of the grabbing things.

-a decent amount of his left side is also stitched together by sinew tendrils. he doesn't know how much. he doesn't take his armor off to check.

-he can't get what's left of his boots off. he's tried. they're too tight. he can't get them off.

-the not-really-wings are rotting from the moment they burst out of his back, steadily losing movement capability as they decay. they can become so rotten that it starts poisoning the rest of him. eventually they fall off, if he hasn't chopped them off himself by then, and the cycle begins again, horrible tertiary limbs growing against his spine to burst free when they get too big to be contained by his skin.

-the fingers of his right hand don't have nails, the fingers have just gotten sharper, some sort of carapace-like toughening of the skin. it gets darker, harder, sharper the more he soaks it in blood.

-he doesn't remember losing his old ax. he doesn't remember picking up the new one. he doesn't know why this one feels so much more comfortable in his withered hand. it's the same ax.

-a lot of the changes were slow and painful. his toes pushing against his boots. muscles twisting and tearing to form into sinews. persistent back pain before the wings ruptured out. The tail just appeared. he realized with digitigrade legs, he'd be able to run a lot faster, but he was missing a counterweight to keep his balance to do that. and then one day he woke up and he had a tail and he hates it.

-hes still trying to go home

-he still thinks he can go home

-he still wants to go home

-he doesn't realize he doesn't have a home to go back to

-he doesn't realize he did this himself

breaking news: surprising absolutely no one, pik has fallen in love with the fast paced fps game where the big, silent badass of a main character's sole goal is to protect the small, squishy innocents.

#lines i did #roboquest #i love this game its great #the writing is so goofy and i cant quite tell if its intentional or of its bc they dont have an actual writer on their team but eith #either way its simple and silly and i love it #not to mention its very vague and leaves plenty of space for potential worldbuilding... #and the animations range from wonderfully clean and snappy; like the reload animations for each weapon and the enemies movement animations #to 'lets just obscure the boss under esplosion textures and lower it under the floor so we dont actually have to animate it exploding' and #its still hilarious to watch every time #music is DAMN GOOD #gameplay is comparable to modern doom #a little rougher around the edges but hey its an indie studio not a triple a and theyre still working on it #npc designs are DELIGHTFUL. why does the robot wear a fake mustach. why does the robot with a single optic wear a normal pair of goggles. #they have so much character despite none of them uttering a single word ever #except for max i guess; she has dialogue. but shes also Literally The Only Human In The Game so like. she gets a pass. #anyway more of my mutuals should buy it so we can co-op it together. #(mutuals if u buy it let me know id be 100% down to co-op it with u)

jovisec space marine adopts a completely normal, perfectly average puppy and is not afraid at all of it biting his hands off

I thought it was hilarious, at first, that everyone’s decided Doomguy is still the protagonist of MyHouse.wad. After all, it doesn’t really have much more to do with Doom than gmod has to do with Half-Life 2. But then I remembered, isn’t that a plot point of Doom II? Visiting the burnt out ruins of your hometown on your way to the portal to Hell? Why couldn’t Doomguy take a few minutes to have a nightmare of an emotional journey in a childhood friend’s home to come to terms with everyone and everything he ever loved being destroyed?

BASEMENT?? a SECOND FLOOR in CLASSIC DOOM???? #that shouldnt even be POSSIBLE. #(i mean. it obviously IS possible w clever use of various teleport effects. but still. it was a bit of a :O !!!!!!! moment) #setting a ridiculously high bar right off the bat and then following through for the rest of the game in meeting it #anyway. it was really good. #i guess in this case the good end would be more of a metaphorical/mental state? #being at peace internally as u go to voluntarily enter the depths of hell... #or something like that; anyway. idk man i am still just going :eyes: at the whole thing
