Locdad thoughts time

The night he first takes his daughter home he takes her out to eat (bc he’s been living off of unhealthy snacks and beer and he wants to feed her healthily and he doesn’t have any ingredients to cook with)

So he asks where she wants to go and she says “the expensive burger place”

And they go there and it isn’t expensive at all and locus asks why she likes the place and she starts talking about birthdays and special events and then she remembers she now doesn’t have her mom to celebrate with her anymore so she starts crying and he just doesn’t know what to do

So he just awkwardly pats her back and tries to comfort her while the staff eye this huge guy and this crying little girl

So to make my locdad au canon-compliant I decided that Locus and his daughter would have a huge blowout argument before the chorus job. She basically tells him “if you go through with this, I will never speak to you again”

And she follows through. Time passes and years later, after Locus is trying to reform, Denise hears that it’s over, and that her father is trying to atone for his past. She decides she wants to find him, apologize for leaving him for the wolves (Felix) and try and mend their relationship. She was mad at him for a long time, but not a day passed that she didn’t miss him dearly.

She heads for chorus, his last known location, and tries to dig up some files about him, that’s where she bumps into some very colorful and very stupid soldiers

Locdad thoughts: disclaimer Locus is a single father to a little girl

A while after locus managed to get Denise in his custody he found out in a checkup she was very underweight for her age and height

And he was so upset bc he was thinking he failed her and wasn’t fit to be a caretaker

And then he finds out Felix hasn’t been giving her dinner when he tells him to

So it wasn’t him

And he went off the handle

He ended up learning her favorite foods and cooking them for her so she’d eat more (she refused some meals)

But still years later he remembers the exact amount she needed to be healthy bc it’s just ingrained in his mind because it made him reconsider raising her

Locdad thoughts: disclaimer this is an rvb au where Locus adopts his young orphaned niece

Locus is a huge reader

He always has a book handy in case there’s down time

And Denise picked that up from him

So they’re both super into literature and discuss it a lot when they can

They recommend each other books and everything too

Locus starts leaving little notes like “I think you’ll like this character” or “this one reminded me of you” in the books so when she reads through it she sees the notes

And she does it back and underlines lines she thinks he’ll like

And that line that locus uses

“Which do you think is more deserving of your hate, agent Washington”

Is just a quote from one of these books but altered a little

While Denise is searching for locus after the whole chorus thing (the chorus thing being her refusing to accept a job like chorus and asking him to back out with her and he says no so they separate for almost a decade)

While she’s trying to find him and finally make up

She’s in the middle of reading the last book in his list of recommendations for her

And she finds a note from him

“This one reminded me of you”

And it’s a quote about love you feel towards family

And it literally makes her stop on that page for hours reading it over and over and it makes her cry

Just so you’re all prepared, I have an Rvb au where Locus (way before the chorus job), got custody of his young niece, and he raised her along with balancing his bounty hunting job and everything else. Basically the scary man gets a small child to raise trope. It has been the source of my brainrot for the past forever so just be prepared
