Episode 3 ~ Secrets of the Sea

Narrator: Martina wasn't sure if she was going to go through with it and while her initial plan was to do it and then tell her mom about it she decided against that. Her mom had always been on her side and had always given good advice and while she was very strict and demanding Martina understood that mama was just like that because she expected the best from her daughters.

So she stared at her phone a good long while as if it had the answers she sought. It did, of course, in its own roundabout way since it did connect to the internet and there she could read into other girls experience with jumping into porn but the answers were all so wildly different. Some explained horror scenarios while others the complete opposite.

Eventually she would call her mom. She came right out with it, explaining where she was and what she was planning to do and as expected Marisol was not happy, she was not happy at all. She wasn't able to get much of a word in after revealing her plans as Marisol spent the entire time scolding her and then before Martina could say anything back her mom had hung up on her.

Well. It looked like the decision was ultimately up to her. That is part of being an adult after all...

Episode 3 ~ Secrets of the Sea

Narrator: Viva really had come to love Sulani, sure, she had fallen in love with one of the locals but the island itself felt like paradise and at the moment she was trying to figure out how much longer she could stay.

If only this was all on her dime, all on her salary, she would, but it was mom who was paying for this vacation and she would have to convince her to stay a little longer. At least long enough to where she could find a stable income here and figure out a way to stay.

She didn't tell her mom that of course, she told her she was just having so much fun and she would like to stay a little longer. Marisol was a little skeptical but she saw, thanks to their conversation being a video call, she saw how happy her daughter was and agreed.

Episode 11 ~ Narcos

I’m not the only one in my family having the weight of motherhood press down on me, my sister, a first time mom, is also having a few issues. Nothing serious, she’s just wondering what can be done to stop the constant crying. I joke with her that maybe its just her baby, little Martina, that is being unruly because her mother is not up to the task but I don’t think my joke really landed. Marisol probably took it as a challenge, she can definitely be intense. I tell her that babies just cry, it’s sort of their thing, and as long as she is making sure its environment is comfortable and filled with love that it will be just fine. I do have faith that Martina is in really good hands although I am sure she will definitely be one of those strict moms that’s always hovering over her children. Marisol demands the best, after all.

Episode 3 ~ Brushstrokes

I let Yolanda go and I guess she eventually found Izzy who was still on the computer. Yolanda just pointedly asked what she was doing and Izzy was happy to let her know.

"Trolling these stupid San My fans," Izzy says with a bit of an evil snicker.

"San My fans?" Yolanda asked confused.

"Baseball, do you watch?" Yolanda shook her head. "Well, my son in law used to play for the Newcrest team and they've always had rivalry with the San My team. Last night they crushed them!"

"Oh?" Yolanda was still confused. "You mean, ummm, Anthony Arnal? Marisol's husband, right? I thought he's retired?"

"Oh, he is, but sport rivalries are forever!"

Episode 10 ~ Sea and Sun

Narrator: She knew that it would be soon. Soon her life would change because soon she would bring new life into the world. She had no idea if it would be a little boy or a little girl but she knew that didn’t really matter. They would love their baby regardless and they would make sure that their child would find success, because that’s who they were. Highly competitive people who hate to lose but when put together? Well, when put together you had one hell of a team and a couple of parents that would push their children to be the best.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” Anthony asked her, amazed at how big she had grown and that he had played some part in creating life although he knew his part was small. “We can do this right, you know, take our time and really make it worth it.”

“No, this is right,” she said sure of herself. She had thought this over. She WOULD have her wedding before Ines. The way she saw it, there was no way she could outdo Ines’ inevitably pricey wedding but she could definitely have hers first. “It’ll still be special! It’ll still be memorable. Besides, the tickets are bought already and now there is little left to do but enjoy our vacation.” 

“Alright,” he wasn’t going to argue with her. He had always pictured that he’d have a humble wedding, a gathering of close friends and family in a church, something every day people did. They did have the simoleons to make a bigger deal of it but perhaps this was better. “If it is what you want I will not fight you on it.”

“Good, because we both know that is a fight you would lose.”

He laughed at that, his hand finding her belly and gently lingering there, hoping to feel a kick or some movement. Yes, the ceremony didn’t need to be special because the woman he was marrying was special enough.

Episode 8 ~ Priorities

Then it was gift opening time! I think we all got really good gifts and that was thanks to Alonso of course. He’s doing all he can to work his way into the hearts of my small family and I do think my mom enjoyed the earrings he gave her...although, I have a feeling she was just pretending to be excited about it and I wonder if she’ll ever wear them. I’m not exactly sure what Marisol received at the time but it really should have been a lump of coal.

Episode 9 ~ Flexibility

Narrator: Marisol and Anthony could not get enough of each other. Even though she was carrying their first child she would wonder sometimes if it was too late for him to put another in there because she was really hoping for twins. Sure, it would have been proof that the Watcher was surely on her side and that she would always be the big sister but she thought it would be amazing to have twins. She would just have to hope for the best and hope for twins. 

Either way, she was more than happy with Anthony. He had proven to be everything she asked for and more...

Episode 8 ~ Priorities

It had been some time since I’ve last seen my big sister so it was great to see her again. She mostly wanted to talk about her relationship with Anthony which has been going well but of course she would say that because she would not admit to any kind of failure. 

Ines: I can’t wait to meet Anthony! He really sounds like the one for you.

Marisol: Oh, he definitely is! His homerun streak proved it was destiny.

Ines: Yes, true, hard to argue with that-

Marisol: Has Alonso done anything like that for you?

Oh boy, here it comes...

Ines: Do you want me to bring out my ring?

Marisol: And? Simoleons aren’t everything Nessie, Anthony proved his love by doing something few people can do. Any man can just buy you fancy jewelry, so what?

Ines: Are we doing this now, really?

She opened her mouth to say something and then thought better of it. 

Marisol: I’m sorry, yeah, this is silly! I hope he makes you happy and you know I look forward to the wedding!

Ines: See! That wasn’t so hard! Not everything has to be a competition, you know? I’m sure Anthony is just the right guy for you and Alonso is perfect for me, we both win!

Marisol: Hmmm, there’s no such thing as TWO winners, Nessie. There is first place and then there is last.

I thought she was serious for a moment but then she cracked a smirk and we both burst into laughter.

Episode 8 ~ Priorities

Oh! It was a little surprising seeing my sister at my front door but then I remembered it was Winterfest week and so I should have expected to see her! She looks great as well although I’d never EVER tell her that. Wouldn’t want to inflate her already huge ego.

Marisol: This house is AMAZING! Look at you, getting everything you ever wanted!

Ines: What? Can you say that again?

Marisol: This house is amazing! Seriously Nessie, it could be featured in a magazine.

Ines: I’m just amazed that you’re able to compliment me sincerely!

Marisol: Pfft, don’t worry, my house will be bigger and better than yours. You’ve shown your hand too early...

Episode 7 ~ Sympathy For The Devil

The middle of the week brings more normalcy which isn’t a bad thing but it also brings my sister calling me about my pregnancy. She says she hasn’t told mama yet and claims she doesn’t have any plans to tell on me BUT she’s now thinking of having her own. I have a feeling that she’s doing this because I’m doing it because, well, she is my sister and this is how she is. I tell her that no matter what she does it’s impossible for her to have a baby before me. That was the wrong thing to tell her since she took it as a challenge. Mark my words, my sister will be pregnant soon. 

Anyways! Alonso was busy doing the handy man thing around the house today which is always cute to see!

Then dinner was served! The interesting thing is there were a lot of awkward conversations because well...a lot of us are still learning each other, but, it was great to get everyone here in one place or at least as many possible and hopefully this is the first of many gatherings!

Episode 10 ~ Sea and Sun

Narrator: And so they spent their time in Sulani, as you can see, enjoying the sea and sun and the presence of each other. 

Yes, it was true that Marisol was also a new mother and she didn’t particularly enjoy being away from Martina but her own mother was more than happy to meet and care for Martina and encouraged her to enjoy her vacation and so she decided she’d do just that. It would only be for a day, after all. 

So she’d build sandcastles for a day or so and then get back home and focus on building her family...

Episode 10 ~ Sea and Sun

Narrator: They were enjoying their honeymoon! That’s right, the two decided to just go ahead and get it over with! Marisol didn’t need a big wedding after all, what she needed was to be first in her small family and Anthony was more than happy to oblige her. 

“I wouldn’t have minded a big ceremony but our feelings are more important,” he had told her. “As long as we both agree that is-”

“I’ve never been much of a romantic any ways,” she agreed, thinking that if she ever did regret on skipping out on something more traditional that they could always do it again at a better time but for now she’ll appreciate beating her sister in at least this.

Episode 8 ~ Priorities

My sister wanted to spend time with her nephew and so I gave her some time with Marcos. It’s a shame Marcos could not be part of any of this because remember it’s super dangerous to remove your baby from your crib for too long!

Anyways, I also met Anthony who spent most of the get together just wandering around. I have to say my sister picked well! He’s a man that has it all together and was very polite when we met. 

Ines: So I hear you’re going to be a daddy!

Anthony: Oh! Yeah, she kind of became obsessed with being a mother very recently. Not sure why but...

Oh, I know why. My sister definitely has issues but I do love her. 

Ines: I can’t wait to meet my niece or nephew then! I should warn you though you will definitely have to play the role of the nice parent.

Anthony chuckles: Oh trust me, I’m well aware. That woman takes anything seriously. She’s definitely going to be the strict parent.

Yeah, no one can deny that. I can imagine my sister will be pushing her child as hard as she can.

Episode 8 ~ Priorities

It was great to have my mom and sister here with me and as soon as we could we pulled away from the dinner table to have a better conversation. Mostly, I wanted to brag about my house and my relationship with Alonso. Blame Marisol for that, I just wanted to playfully tease her about it and thens he goes and drops a bomb on us.

Marisol: I’m pregnant.

Ines: She’s joking, she’s just saying that because she likes attention.

Marisol: I do like attention but I’m also pregnant.

Isidora: At least you’re willing to tell me before the baby is born...

Ouch. Okay, I deserve that but I’m not going to let a family moment get ruined by my past mistakes!

Ines: You know mama, Marisol is going to make you choose between your grandchildren.

My mom did laugh at that because she knew it was true. I was just happy to keep the conversation light and away from that whole hiding my relationship and pregnancy from my loving mother topic. 

Marisol: Ma, you don’t have to, the truth will be clear for everyone to see. I bet Nessie will raise brats.

Marisol is only joking here...at least partially, I hope. 

Ines: Yes, spoiled rich and beautiful brats. Nothing wrong with that.
