" mmm … may I try on Shuu's hat, please? " 

Though these little grabby hands of hers were obviously excited and hopeful, the child was naturally patient and understanding; so, if Shuichi did not want to share his precious cap, it would prompt no tears and cause no fuss. 

HOWEVER, Ari hoped that Shuichi felt that he could trust her with even his most precious belongings. So, in order to reinforce that confidence, Ari shared these words:  " I … I promise I won't hurt it … ! I … I just wanna look like shhh … shu … like Shuu, please! " // ( inbox call! )

"Oh? My hat...?" If he were the same Shuichi from the past, the one who would obscure part of his vision to not look at people directly, then he might have hesitated; but that part of him was long gone now. So whenever he wore his hat, he'd wear it the normal way. That, and he had no problem at all with Ari wanting to try it on; in fact, he'd happily let her, a smile lighting his face as he watches her make those adorable gestures. "Aww of course you can. Mmhm; I know you'll treat my hat with care. That's why I know I can trust it with you. Plus, my little sister wants to look like me; how could I possibly say no?" He chuckles, giving her hair an affectionate ruffle. He truly meant it, when he says he can trust her with it.

With one more nod, he takes off his hat, and after quicky combing down some messy strands of his hair with his hand... he gently places his hat in her hands. "Here you go." He'll then kneel down to help her properly wear it, since his hat will be much bigger on her head, so she might need help adjusting it so that the bill of it doesn't completely cover her eyes. Once she was good to go, he gives a satisfied hum. "Alllright, there we go... look at you, Junior Detective; you truly do look like a mini me, now! Heh, heh, heh."

He pats the top of her head. "You look adorable in it, Ari. Feel free to wear it as long as you want."
