Kizzle's human picked up some tiny gourds and pumpkins at the market today, and she thought they would make the perfect opportunity for a photoshoot. She's donned her witchy harvest dress for the season and is all ready to enjoy the sights, sounds, and earthy aromas of Fall. She's also hoping we make some tasty things from scratch out of that large pumpkin in the back when Halloween is over. =)

Kizzle: "Ooooh, what a good idea! The next full moon is still a couple weeks away, but my human has a realistic moon light. Let's try that!"

Kizzle: "It has realistic crater detailing and everything. Let's turn it on and turn the rest of the lights off..."

Kizzle: "This is kindof spooky, but in a good way, of course."

Kizzle: "This is definitely my kind of thing. I feel inspired and creative. And happy!"

Resident Human: "Hey, Kizzle. I heard that you've been feeling a little down lately." Kizzle: "I suppose. I'm just not into all this flower and sunshine stuff. I love the leaves of Fall, Halloween, campfires, and crisp weather. Spring just isn't for me."

Resident Human: "I see. Well... I know what is for you. Chocolate!" Kizzle: "Oh, yes! I love chocolate!" Resident Human: "Wanna make some brownies?" Kizzle: "I would love to!"

Resident Human: "Okay, put your things over there so they don't get chocolate all over them." Kizzle: "Yes, good idea."

Resident Human: "Alright, everything we need is right here." Kizzle: "Ah, Hershey's... The good stuff!" Resident Human: "Yep! Triple chocolate, no less. These are going to be super fudgy." Kizzle: "I'm already drooling."

Kizzle: "It looks like someone melted a Boston cream donut." *giggles* Resident Human: "Haha, it kindof does."

Kizzle: "Are those lumps chocolate chips?" Resident Human: "Absolutely!" Kizzle: "Ohhh, I can't wait!"

Kizzle: "It smells so chocolatey..." Resident Human: "Well I should hope so." Kizzle: "This is so exciting!" *bounces* Resident Human: "Wow, you really do love chocolate."

Kizzle: "Time for the oven!"

Resident Human: "Ah, perfect. Warm brownie aroma is the best, isn't it?"

Kizzle: "It sure is! Mmm... crispy on the outside, fudgy on the inside. Just how I like 'em!"

Resident Human: "Feeling those blues getting chased away yet?" Kizzle: "I am. Thank you for cheering me up. Now, let's eat!"

These mauve colored lilies caught Kizzle's eye today. Despite the scorching heat, she ventured out to see what she could find in the way of pretty flowers, and she was delighted to see these. They're smaller and subtler than their bright red and orange counterparts, but she likes them. She says the others are party lilies, and these are more business casual. Sure, why not. XD

It was a dark and stormy day today, and besties Ashleaf and Kizzle were so disappointed. They wanted to lay out on their lawn chairs and soak up some rays, but Mother Nature had other ideas. To cheer them up, I suggested we all make some tasty bubble tea! I made some brown sugar boba (do you have any idea how difficult it is to get rootling-sized tapioca pearls? my goodness!), and Kizzle and I had brown sugar and maple syrup bubble tea. Ashleaf, on the other hand, wanted her milk flavored with some strawberry sauce, because of course she wanted her drink to be pink. XD

Season of Love, Part I

Murray: "Hello, Miss Kizzle. You look lovely today."

Kizzle: "Thank you, Murray." *giggles* "You're so sweet."

Murray: "I have a present for you. You know, for Valentine's Day coming up and all..." *gets shy* Kizzle: *gasps excitedly* "You do?" *blushes*

Kizzle: "I wonder what it could be...?"

Murray: "First, I got you some chocolate-covered cremes in a cute box with a bear on it! I know you love bears..."

Kizzle: "Oh, how cute! They sound delicious..."

Murray: "And then I got you this cute little bear-shaped chocolate. I hope you like them." Kizzle: "I do! I've loved bears ever since you gifted me this teddy bear a couple years ago. I carry him everywhere."

Murray: "Happy Valentine's Day a bit early, dear Kizzle." Kizzzle: "Thank you, Murray. You're my one true love." Lil' Bit: "Kiss...! Kiss...! Yay!"

Kizzle was feeling cute today in her pre-Halloween attire. She'll rock this look until she puts on her black and orange harvest dress in a few weeks. This season always makes her feel creative, so she's stared toting around her bag of art supplies again, hoping to find inspiration for some sketches. =)

HALLOWEEN DECORATING CHALLENGE WINNER #1: Kizzle!

Miss Kizzaelea Ravynwood, known to her friends simply as Kizzle, is all about the Halloween aesthetic. She won the Halloween Decorating Challenge with her friend Neirin with this glowing display. Kizzle is a lover of all things witchy, gothic, Victorian, and creepy. She loves to draw and has impeccable style in clothing. Her favorite Halloween aesthetic is a color style that evokes things like scary carnivals and skeleton kings of Halloween into your mind. Although her all-year-round aesthetic is a bit on the spooky side to begin with, she really pulls out all the stops right before Halloween. Her favorite Halloween movie is Hocus Pocus, she prefers witches, bats, and spiders for designs, and she makes a mean red velvet cake with a “grave dirt” chocolate crumble on top. Let’s all congratulate Kizzle on her big decorating win! =)

The plant Kizzle chose at the beginning of this Summer to replace a bush that died in the heat of last Summer is doing nicely so far. It's small, but it's already got some new growth on it compared to when it was purchased. Kizzle thinks it's red-tinged leaves are just gorgeous. And in the fall, it should get even redder before the leaves drop. She can't wait! =)

Every autumn, this particular bush's leaves turn a vivid red color. The color of Miss Kizzle's eyes, to be exact! She adores these gorgeous crimson leaves, and so do I. It brings so much color to the yard as everything else turns yellow, tan, and brown. =)

Another casualty of the hot and dry weather last summer was the white hydrangea right in front of the house. Bobo loved the white flowers, so he was very disappointed. I told him he could pick out a plant at the nursery to replace that one too, since he’d done such a good job last time, but instead he told me he’d like to let Kizzle choose. There are plenty of white flowers in the yard, he said, and he’d rather let his friend have some fun. And that she did! Kizzle couldn’t choose between two plants, one of which has deep purple leaves and the other which has red tinged leaves and grows red flowers. So... I told her to get both. We’ve got the room. She was so excited to show Bobo what she’d chosen, and he was happily to see her smiling face and hear her happy giggles. =)

Kizzle was out backpacking today, looking stylish as ever. She’s not overly a fan of the bright sun, but she welcomes the warmer temperatures, and as long as she had her trusty sunglasses, she does just fine. As an artist, she gets some of her best inspiration from nature, so I happen to think she was out getting ideas from all the flowers today. Maybe we’ll see some sketches from her soon! =)

Being a lover of all things red, Kizzle complimented Pinklewink on her tall red goblin hat. Pinklewink promptly offered the hat to Kizzle, letting her try it on. Alas, Kizzle thought it looked more like a dunce hat on her. It wasn’t until Murray showed up and told her she looked gorgeous in the hat that Kizzle brightened up again. They shared a kiss as Pinklewink and Lil’ Bit cheered them on.

Hannelore: “It sure was nice of Master Marshmallow to give me this book...”

Kizzle: “Um...! M-miss Hannelore... ma’am? I just want to say that I think you’re so cool...!”

Hannelore: “Aww, well aren’t you just the sweetest.”

Kizzle: “...and um... I love your broom!” 

Hannelore: “Thank you! It was a gift from one of my host humans.”

Hannelore: “I love your bag!”

Kizzle: *is fanrooting so hard* “Oh my goodness, thank you!”

Hannelore: “What do you carry around in there?”

Kizzle: “Just some personal things... and my art supplies.”

Hannelore: “Oh, do you draw?”

Kizzle: “Yeah... but... I’m not really that good...”

Hannelore: “Nonsense! I think these are very good.”

Hannelore: “Look at that! It’s Mudpie!”

Kizzle: “Yeah...” *nervous chuckle* “I tried my best.”

Hannelore: “You’re very talented, Kizzle.

Kizzle: “No...” *hides her face with her leaf*

Hannelore: “Oh yes you are. I don’t lie!” *gives her a hug*

Kizzle: *sniffles* “You really think so, Miss Hannelore?”

Hannelore: “Absolutely. Believe in yourself, and never stop drawing, okay? And please, just Hannelore is fine.”

Kizzle heard from Asheaf about the mice living in our holiday tree, and so of course she had to go visit them. We’re up to six of them at the moment, but Kizzle hopes even more will move in. The more the merrier, right? =)

Do you guys have favorite seasons or types of weather? I love really breezy autumnal type days myself.

Graer: "We tend to like Spring the most. The weather is warming up but not too hot yet, and everything is in bloom."

Fernadette: "That's right! It's so much fun to see all the Spring flowers emerging and the burst of green foliage after a long, cold, gray winter."

Ashleaf: "We're sunbabies! We love Summer, bright sunshine, and ice cold bubble tea. And of course sunbathing like the divas that we are."

Prickles: "Yep! Give me blue skies, hot weather, and gorgeous sun any day of the week!"

Kizzle: "I love spooky season the most. Halloween and pumpkins and the scent of falling leaves. Also cooler weather is a plus. I'm definitely with you on breezy Autumn days!"

Stormy: "Oh yeah, I'm all about Halloween, but also all the Fall goodies like yummy pies, tasty breads, and pumpkin spice everything! Also how awesome is it to go walking in the forest on a cool Fall day and take in all the colors of the leaves?"

Halfred: "Winter is the season for me. Me and my cousin Mudpie love snow. And fuzzy blankets."

Mudpie: "Mudpie likes to be cozy and warm. But also to play in cold snow. Mudpie is an enigma, for sure. Also hot chocolate and pepperminty things."

Halfred: "It's always about the snacks with you."

Mudpie: "If Mudpie doesn't get enough sugar, he gets cranky."

Halfred: *chuckles*
