Miraculous AU drop! Get all the info below the cut!
This AU is set in a fictional city in Texas called Granveston. Granveston is a very well to do city, and many of it's recent ventures have been backed by the Hall family.
Unfortunately, Granveston has been struck with a sudden plague, one that turns emotionally distraught people into monsters that obey the will of the mysterious Madame Moth.
Enter the heroes, chosen specifically by the kwamis Plagg and Tikki.
When Tikki and Plagg felt the disturbance in Nooroo's energy, they broke free from the Miracle Box and their Guardian, who had always been lax in his duties. They raced through the city to find suitable wielders, and these are who they chose.
Diego Hart:

Tikki chose Diego because she saw him evacuating people near the site of the first Akuma attack, and as she watched, he jury-rigged a shield to protect a group of fleeing people. Pleased with his creative and heroic spirit, she revealed herself to him, and granted him her power. He became Escarabajo, but since he refuses to pierce his ears (His mom would be so mad at him), he tends to wear his Miraculous on his wrists or occasionally on his shirt collars. Escarabajo is sometimes called Scarab or Beetle by some of the English-speaking population, which he doesn't mind.
Felicity Jameson:

Plagg had a hard time finding someone who seemed suited to his power, till he saw Felicity kick down a door to an abandoned building where some people could hide from the Akuma. Small but determined and strong, Plagg took an interest in her and gave her his Miraculous. She became The Shadow, or just Shadow, and was thoroughly surprised to find out she had a partner. She wears the ring on a necklace string when not transformed, but wears it on her finger when transformed.
Not much is known on Madame Moth, only that she exists and wants the Miraculous. No one even knows what she looks like.
I will be calling this AU "Miraculous Ladybug: The Beetle and The Shadow", and it will have at least five "seasons", if a sixth is necessary is till in the air at the moment.
Season One will have ten episodes, and is in the works right now. This season serves as an introductory arc, with the duo figuring out their system, their powers, and with the citizens of Granveston adjusting to having heroes. The Duo also runs into a particularly odd Wielder, one who acts as a chaotic force. Despite trying to retrieve this person's Miraculous, this person keeps avoiding them, and playing whatever game they want.
Season Two will also have ten episodes, and showcases how the Miracusquad works now that they've gotten in their groove, but also showcases some deeper troubles they're all facing.
Season Three is the last season with ten episodes, focuses on the strength the heroes have when they're together, and brings back one of the only things I'm keeping from Canon in the finale, setting off a catalyst for the next season.
Season Four is very dark and heavy, with twelve episodes. The Miracusquad is dealing with a missing member, and has to balance both heroics, civilian lives, and trying to handle the member situation. The season culminates with two very devastating Akumas and the return of the member.
Season Five will have between twelve and fifteen episodes. With the Squad back together and stronger than before, and with the power of the Miracle Box in the possession of one of the members, the hunt for Madame Moth begins. A very deep season, with lots of detective work and reveals.
But a certain staple of Miraculous is missing? Do you mean the romantic shenanigans that happen? The lovesquare?
Fear not.
They're there.
But you'll have to read it to see it.
Don't be afraid to send in asks if you want to know more about certain things! As long as it isn't too spoilery, I am down to tell you whatever you might want to know!
You can also send in Akuma ideas, as I have to have a lot of them. I plan on lifting some concepts from the base show, if I can.
I'm very excited, and I hope you are, too!
