Funniest thing Ive done in a while is decide that base black (substance in my oc story that allows shapeshifting and cloning to happen. Long story) has to be attached to something alive in order for it not to decay and then turn around and go Yup humans use base black in machinery for manufacturing and cloning. I wrote myself into a "the machine is alive" corner. not that I'm complaining but like it's a little fucked up to think that the cloning machine is alive and probably made of clones in there. don't worry about it though

ok I was drawing pony maverick earlier and it got me thinking about the other clones. I made Maverick a pegasus and I was content with that for all the clones too BUT I realized ohh well cuz many of the clones are genetically modified maybe I can use that to make some of the clones different kinds of ponies? so here we go:

Maverick is a pegasus as previously stated bc of his everlasting angel motif (original version of his character was an angel lol). Ana is a unicorn, she has a superiority complex about it. Uses her magic lifting-things skills to wield her defacing scissors. Foster, Hurricane, and the currently unnamed G clone would probably all also be pegasi for consistency. the Template Maverick as well.

Elaine though, she would also be a unicorn. She's a surgeon so the magic thing could be for. healing spells or whatever MLP characters do. or wielding surgical tools idk. but it fits really well because in the story Ana's favorite successor clone is Elaine, due some similarities they share and blah blah whatever else. so them both being unicorns shows that well methinks

#'how many maverick clones are there now' at least 7 im sorry. well 6 technically because the template maverick is. the template not a clone #SO. in alphabet order (newest to oldest!) Delphine (aka just Maverick) Elaine. Foster (also called Florence) unnamed G clone and Hurricane ! #bc hurricane maverick just sounds cool. hurricane and the G clone wont have their own storylines or anything. #(heres to hoping. cuz i said that about foster and the template and i developed them both a lot...) #but i do wanna design them just for like. existence purpose. remnants of the past oooooh ooooh #im getting really off track from pony stuff here. sorry #mvrckposting #phx news

Ana . she's the oldest Maverick clone. like old enough that if she was still human she'd be dead as hell. she lurks around cloning facilities playing god n what not. stalking her successor clones. she has a particular beef with one Florence Maverick....

trying to danny phantomize ghost Maverick is proving to be slightly difficult. because at first his design was gonna be a variant of his normal one and his gimmick was just gonna be having his head come off y'know. and I can't do a headless horseman bit because he doesn't like horses and he's also not scary swagful enough for that anyways. but I did think of the gag. headless postman. because he becomes a mailman later on in the story do you get it. also something about a ghost mailman is funny to me. postmortem postal service. but this is difficult for reason of Maverick's main colors are already red & green which are popular d/p ghost colors. but mail is blue. my color schemes.....falling apart....

FUN FACTS ABOUT MAVERICK because it is his birthday today .

-i named him after Cody Maverick from surfs up because. I was watching the movie the first time I drew him. yes the penguin.

-TECHNICALLY the first time I ever drew him, he looked so much like reigen of mob psycho fame I gave up before I finished because. he can't be ....

-made him blonde because at that point I realized I had like NO blonde characters at all

-he was gonna be kinda evil ngl

-gave him the name 'Delphine' firstly because I thought it sounded good with his other name but also because of the vague reference to 'Delphi'. because there was gonna be a prophecy thing in the old version of the story. noooot anymore though... now it's a happy coincidence that I can draw him with delphiniums (at his funeral mostly..) ...which are poisonous btw

-remember that blonde factoid from earlier. I very nearly made him not blonde multiple times over the years idk what I had against it sorry everyone

-i picked the 31st as his birthday because it's supposed to be like. the last day of the year, aka the border between two things! Like the way he's always stuck between life & death....old times new beginnings

See i draw a lot of my characters in jackets because I'm fond of jackets but I've been trying to at least design distinct hot/cold weather fits for them but Maverick is giving me SO much trouble. the others I have a vague sense of style for y'know but Maverick. He was born in that red & green jacket and he will DIE in that jacket ‼️ I don't know what else to put him in truthfully

#he doesn't really actually die in that jacket which is surprising considering how much he tends to die #he takes it off beforehand because he loves it so much he doesnt wanna ruin it #but. anyways. he loves that jacket to BITS and hes actually kinda clingy about all his clothes #he wears his things to death and actually only had like 1 change of clothes for a good while until other characters noticed #so. basically. hard to dress him.... #mvrckposting #phx news

ok here's a poll I will do. in my OC story there's clones blah blah so there's anti-clone bias (and also straight up fear of being cloned unwillingly) SO I'm inventing a phobia word bc there doesn't really seem to be one ? also I do what I want.

OPTION 1: "CLONOPHOBIA". cuz they're called clones. you understand. although the word clone originates in botany and means twig which is fine but. whatever. this is also like the only thing that pops up if you try searching the fear of clones lol

OPTION 2: "SIMILIPHOBIA". based on the word "facsimile" which means "make (facere) same/like (similis)". Also in-universe the project that resulted in clones being real was called "project similis," so I feel it could be likely that the hate/fear word was based on that (technically in-universe 'clones' and 'human facsimiles' are different things but the general public does not know that so. ignore.)

Ok wait I just had a thought. originally, post Facestealer issue resolution and after Reo and Maverick move away I was planning on having Maverick be a post runner (mailman) and having Reo be a tailor. But I'm watching ghost hunters (lol) and realizing 1. Reo is more "esp sensitive" than the avg person AND 2. Maverick has. experience in dealing with ppls souls (bc of necromancy things). they could literally be paranormal investigators this is cracking me up

Among all the other of thousands of things I'd like to draw I wanna put Maverick and Reo in Halloween costumes but my greatest obstacle is. Deciding what for each of them. Like Reo would probably do something kinda more classic especially cuz he's trying to introduce Halloween to Maverick who doesn't really know what it is. Then Maverick would be like DRESSING UP? YOU CAN DRESS UP AS ANYTHING? CAN I BE [guy] from [show/movie] ?!? because Ricky loves the TV. sigh

Mavericks healing factor is all wacky and sometimes it's too 'overexcited' and it heats up. like a lot. like fevers do to burn out the bad but. also the way metabolism sheds excess energy as heat. so his wounds sometimes feel scarily warm and if it's REALLY bad he'll start cooking. literally. he does catch on fire at a few points and/or starts smouldering? smoking? it's rather bad.

anyways the point is he smells like cooking meat sometimes sorry.

#all this to say there is a character (ero) who eats humans (ero) and he encounters Maverick soon after his decapitation (bad) #and the reason he shows up is because. maverick kinda smelt like dinner 🫣 sorry . not often your corpse meal cooks itself #SORRY. maverick is uneaten BUT ero does eat his severed hand. so ummmmm. #i should clarify ero eats . people dead. he kills them steals their base black and if he fancies it. eats them a litttttle #sortof farming them for resources essentially.....and he hates clones. classic #mvrckposting #phx news

Like. What are natural instances in which you may catch a glimpse of someone else's midriff. I'm trying to script the moment where Reo realizes Maverick doesn't have a fucking bellybutton but Ricky wears his shirt tucked in and also wears the same thing every day so chances of accidental reveal are slimmer than usual. I mean it's my story and my characters so I can do anything forever but...
