AAAA got a comm from @fbcbreakroom again and I'm so happy with it :] Janie will always use her height and older sister status to bug Duncan because she's one of the only people who can really get away with it

okay I need to sleep probably for the sake of going to work but a quick rundown before I go more into it later:
my shadowrun characters from Dragonfall (in Germany) are Hide (the player character, a decker human in this case) and Oval (a satyr mage street kid I made up who lives in the Kiez)
I only have one from Hong Kong so far-- Janie, a street samurai troll who is too cavalier in her food choices and far too calm in most situations. She goes by Mitsukurina. She dyed her hair green as soon as she was out of jail. She's much taller than Duncan and even debatably stronger but still considers him the muscle of the two of them.

"Psst. Seattle."
Janie props herself up in her bed, turning toward her open door. Half of Gobbet greets her-- she's leaning out from behind the doorframe, nearly perpendicular with the floor, ropes of hair dangling down.
"Hi, Gobbet. Why are we fake whispering?" Janie asks, matching her tone. Gobbet slides fully into view, leaning her forehead against the wall, trying her best to look forlorn.
"I am getting too cooped up in the ship. I need get out and get moving and stuff, but I'm too bored to go anywhere alone. Iz is content in the Matrix right now, so there's no getting her out. Do you like clubs? And dancing?"
"A bit. They can be fun."
Gobbet points a finger in the direction of Duncan's room, one eyebrow raised in a silent question. Janie shuts her eyes, nodding her head. She stifles a laugh when she hears Gobbet gasp, opening her eyes to see her mouth hanging agape.
"Good luck getting him to go out."
"You can't just tell me that and then say he won't come."
"He's a great dancer."
"Stop stop stop!" Gobbet shoves her hands out. "Do not tell me anything else unless you have a way to get Gunshow out there. I have to see this now. What do we do to get him out, what's the trick?" She invites herself in, shuffling into the room and flopping down onto the end of Janie's bed. Madness and Folly poke their heads out of her hood, sniffing at the blankets.
"It won't be tonight," Janie says, folding her hands behind her head, staring up at the ceiling. "I'll go with you. It's been too long since I've done anything like that. I miss it. But we'll find a way to get him out there. He probably needs it too."
"Is that why he's so jacked?"
"He danced for a club."
"No he did not."
"He did! Keep your voice down, or he'll come over here and ask what we're talking about."
Gobbet jumps back up to her feet, pushing off of the bed, nearly sending her rats flying. They cling onto her back, scurrying and scrabbling up to her shoulders.
"Okay. First drinks on me. Let's go hatch a plan at Club 88. Or I'm going to start restlessly chewing holes in the walls or something."

"Wouldn't it come from her sword?" Is0bel asks, coiling up a length of wire into a neat pile on the ship's floor. "Like its nose. She's... the goblin shark. Like a title, I guess."
Gobbet pushes one of the coils up against the wall with her foot "Remind me how we figured out what 'mitsukurina' meant again?"
"Well, we don't know what it means." Is0bel huffs a loose curl out of her eyes. "I got curious and looked it up, then asked Duncan why she picked it. He just... smirked at me and told me to ask her."
"We still can just ask her," Gaichu says, holding his arms out in front of him, cords of different colors and sizes laid across them. Racter is busy labeling one Generator: DO NOT UNPLUG.
"There's no fun in that, though!" Gobbet grins. "I like guessing. And being hilariously wrong. Also, Iz, she didn't use a sword until she'd been here awhile. She was a gun girl before that. So we gotta nix the sword idea."
"It's possible she used swords when she was in Seattle," Racter notes. "It's just as possible it was her nickname back home for some reason."
"Kinda boring. I think it's to represent her dual nature," Gobbet trips on a cord and catches herself on the edge of Is0bel's computer, then kicks the cord further under the desk. "Like how goblin sharks have those freaky mouths that show up when you're not expecting a bite. It's like how she's so chill but decisive and strong. Stuff like that." Her back hits the floor and she vanishes underneath the screens and into the nests of wire. "Alright Nibbles, your turn. Why's she use mitsukurina as her runner name?"
"My theory?" The ghoul smiles. "I think she really likes sharks."

Out of curiosity I took the myers briggs for everyone:
Hide got INTJ-A
Mitsurkurina/Janie got ENFJ-A
Oval got ENTP-T
and Drexel ENTJ-- I don't think it gave me a letter for her. I think she'd be A.
A = assertive, or more self assure, T = turbulent, driven by their self doubt. I would figure Hide could easily be marked as turbulent, too-- a lot of the assertiveness is habit and training.
I also love that Hide is the only introvert, especially when he's arguably the most outgoing and generally acts as the Face for whatever group of people he's with. All of these fit very well though!
Info that I thought fit them under the cut:
Hide:
It can be lonely at the top. As one of the rarest personality types – and one of the most capable – Architects (INTJs) know this all too well. Rational and quick-witted, Architects pride themselves on their ability to think for themselves, not to mention their uncanny knack for seeing right through phoniness and hypocrisy. But because their minds are never at rest, Architects may struggle to find people who can keep up with their nonstop analysis of everything around them. This personality type comes with a strong independent streak. Architects don’t mind acting alone, perhaps because they don’t like waiting around for others to catch up with them. They also generally prefer making decisions without asking for anyone else’s input. At times, this lone-wolf behavior can come across as insensitive, as it fails to take into consideration other people’s thoughts, desires, and plans.
Janie:
These personality types have an uncanny ability to pick up on people’s underlying motivations and beliefs. At times, they may not even understand how they come to grasp another person’s mind and heart so quickly. These flashes of insight can make Protagonists incredibly persuasive and inspiring communicators.
Oval:
Debaters are known for their rebellious streak. For this personality type, no belief is too sacred to be questioned, no idea is too fundamental to be scrutinized, and no rule is too important to be broken, or at least thoroughly tested. Sometimes Debaters even rebel against their own beliefs by arguing the opposing viewpoint – just to see how the world looks from the other side. As Debaters see it, most people are too ready to do as they’re told and blindly conform to social norms, pressures, and standards.
Drexel:
If there’s anything Commanders love, it’s a good challenge, big or small, and they firmly believe that given enough time and resources, they can achieve any goal. This quality makes people with the Commander personality type brilliant entrepreneurs, and their ability to think strategically and hold a long-term focus while executing each step of their plans with determination and precision makes them powerful business leaders. This determination is often a self-fulfilling prophecy, as Commanders push their goals through with sheer willpower where others might give up and move on, and their Extraverted (E) nature means they are likely to push everyone else right along with them, achieving spectacular results in the process.

This ask again for Mitsukurina, cos I forgot to send one, but still want to read more about her 👀 : A1, A13, B15, F5, G6, H8
What of the Meyers-Briggs personality types they most fit into? INFP, ENFT, et cetera…
According to the quick lil test on 16personalities, she's ENFJ-A (the a being assertive, apparently-- I don't remember those from the last time I took it. The other option is T, Turbulent).
I think this fits her. It might seem odd to people who know her at first-- she's not shy, but she's not necessarily a very talkative person, and she can seem like she keeps to herself-- but the site describes ENFJs as leaders who seek to do the right thing no matter the cost, or at least have a positive impact on people.
She's the person who is charismatic and outgoing but doesn't fit the typical mental image of that. She's not very loud, she's fairly calm or chill most of the time, and she rarely dominates conversation-- but she is someone people gravitate to, both to open up to and to follow, and she gladly takes that role. She's also well aware that people do this, and uses it to her advantage to fly under the radar but still affect things.
"When something strikes them as unjust or wrong, they speak up. But they rarely come across as brash or pushy, as their sensitivity and insight guide them to speak in ways that resonate with others. These personality types have an uncanny ability to pick up on people’s underlying motivations and beliefs."
Does your OC have any phobias? If so, where did they come from?
Hmm, I don't know if I'd qualify it as a phobia, but the idea of being abandoned or abandoning others she loves is a really strong problem for her. Somewhere between attachment issues and phobia.
Does your OC enjoy social events, such as parties, clubs, et cetera..?
It depends! The people she's with will definitely affect her decision, as well as the location. She does love people watching, and she likes enjoying good music. She's not against dancing but she's not likely to unless the friends she with decide to. After being in prison for so long, she cherishes the freedom and busyness a lot-- but she cherishes the private alone time she chooses just as much. Overall though, I think she likes being in lived-in social spaces.
How handy are they? Can they fix appliances, cars, cabinets, et cetera?
Pretty darn. Some of it out of necessity-- when you're too broke to buy something new, you fix it, or you steal it (or you steal the thing you need to fix it). She's got a fairly good mechanical mind and is good at rigging up stuff she needs, and she's always loved tinkering with motorcycles and cars. She can do simple repairs, and some advanced ones, but its mostly just a side hobby.
Do they have any favorite childhood memories?
I've been waffling on what I want to do with her childhood and the finer details of it a lot, but I do know she liked to dye her hair as often as she could. She has a lot of memories of staying up late and having Duncan or whoever else was around help her with it, and those talks as well as the vibe was always nice.
She also loves anytime she and Duncan would get to go to the waterside and check out what was there. Nice to just wander, talk, scavenge, and try and spot people or critters.
What’s your OC’s idea of a perfect date?
She's pretty laidback when it comes to her idea of dating. A long drive somewhere (car or motorcycle), walking around a city, finding a good fishing spot just to chill, deciding what to do on the fly and having no plan-- she likes relaxed and spontaneous things more than planned or fancy ones. Someone who would be willing to match her energy and just do whatever, from hitting 120+mph to chilling on the couch somewhere would make a perfect date for her.

emoji ask for Janie: 👁️ EYE, 🥞 PANCAKE, 🍃 FALLING LEAF, 🙈 SEE-NO-EVIL, ⚾ BASEBALL, 📎 PAPERCLIP, 🔥 FIRE
👁️ EYE - what colour are their eyes? do people notice their eyes? is there anything special about them (shows emotion easily, literally magical...)?
Janie has light eyes-- nearly grey. It can be pretty striking on her, and her eyes are pretty expressive!
🥞 PANCAKE - what is their comfort breakfast?
Janie eats a lot because she needs to eat a lot (she's both tall and pretty heavy set, at least pre-prison), and food in general is wonderful when you're not questioning where your next meal comes from. Breakfast is usually her favorite meal in general-- pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, etc-- but her favorite is always mowing her way through a box of cereal. Day or night, nothing beats just chillin doing nothing with a bowl of something too sugary for your own good.
🍃 FALLING LEAF - do they enjoy being in nature? what is their favourite outdoor activity?
Janie's a big "wander around and walk everywhere" type. She likes exploring and getting out, and she'll do it on foot (or motorcycle) anytime she gets the chance. She also really likes being out on the water. Jomo's boat is always a blast (even when he's going fast enough to bounce everyone out of their seats)
🙈 SEE-NO-EVIL - whats a side of your oc that they don't want to show other people?
She's gotten a bit more violent since her time in the corporate prison, partially out of necessity-- she had to assert herself sometimes. She's not a big fan of that part of herself, but writes it off as a survival necessity. She has no problem with violence or even killing people who deserve it in her eyes when it comes to justice, but she's a bit quicker to snap and threaten now. She hates this. She also thinks she's a selfish person, and doesn't like that about herself.
⚾ BASEBALL - can they play sports? what is their best position if they play a team sport? what's their strong suit (speed, power etc.)?
I feel like she had a lot of interest in Urban Brawl as a kid, but Raymond got her to stop watching. She's pretty into hockey-- hasn't really played it much, but would love to, and loves to watch.
She's big (maybe 8'3"?) and a heavy hitter and pretty calm, so she can be intimidating (as long as you don't know her and realize she's really chill). So she'd fair well in a defensive position in sports I think. She'd make a good goalie for sure.
Instead of Duncan, she gets a cyberware arm while in Heoi-- her arm had been bugging her anyway from old injuries, so she figured she'd go all in. Now she can lob grenades back at the enemy like the best of 'em
📎 PAPERCLIP - a random fact.
She broke her nose enough as a kid that she had to have surgery to correct some of the cartilage while still living with Duncan and Raymond as a kid.
🔥 FIRE - do they have any self destructive tendencies? what habits do they have that hinder them from becoming their best self?
Janie will weather anything for the people she loves, but that means she never brings up things that bother her that she thinks "aren't worth it". Why bother when she can just adjust and deal with it? She only does this for friends/family, and mostly Duncan and Raymond, but the lack of honesty and communication takes a pretty hard toll on her. She thinks she's selfish for feeling like she needs to ask for "silly" stuff, because logically she thinks she can just deal with it and get over it.

For the ask list: Hide: 21, Mitsukurina:17, Oval: 4. And a a random useless fact about all of them if you want to :3
Hide
What sets your OC off? What will make them go from a docile little lamb to a rampaging, fire-breathing dragon?
It takes a lot of stress to make Hide break, but he does have a moment where he snaps because of how much his leadership is being questioned. He knows he can't always get things right, but being on his now (or rather, leading and not having anyone else overseeing him) puts a lot of extra pressure on him. (he and dietrich end up in an actual physical fight when all of that stress finally kind of bursts, but they sort it out)
There was a time where he was really touchy about personal details like his real name. Now, though, he's more likely to mouth off at anyone who tries to screw over him, his team, or anyone he decides he's responsible for.
random useless fact: his hair actually has some curl texture to it, he just can't be bothered to actually take care of it
Mitsukurina
What is something annoying about your OC? Do they chew with their mouth open? Are they a know-it-all? Are they too oblivious for their own good?
Janie speaks her mind and does so very casually, and has 0 qualms just flat out ignoring the usual social rules around what you can and can't say. She's also very good at seeing right through people and saying exactly how they feel or calling out their intentions, and because she's so calm and casual in the way she does it, it tends to piss people off even more. She can even be a bit smug, depending.
It's one thing if you're her friend and she tells you exactly how you feel and what you're struggling with even if you've been trying to hide it. It's another if you're a stranger and this 8ft tall shadowrunner woman is suddenly calling you out for your actions. (Both of these things can be very annoying, actually). Duncan loves/hates this.
random useless fact: she likes to go fishing-- everything from "actually has a fishing pole and legit goes fishing" to "tied some meat to the end of a line and tossed it in the canal and is gonna haul up whatever bites".
Oval
What is something that they’re secretly good at? Do they have a hidden talent, such as being a brilliant kazoo player or a master chess wizard?
She's got a really good mind for judging space and distance as well as numbers. She learned to count cards when she was really young and she's a bit of a dangerous one to play card games with because of that. She's also just really good at getting herself into spaces she shouldn't usually be able to get, either because she manages to crawl and squeeze into spots, or just because she's got good judgement on what she needs to climb on to get there.
random useless fact: when she's frustrated, bored, or lost in thought, she sticks her tusks out to be more prominent-- you can't really see them unless she sets her jaw just right. it's almost a pout, really

fic wip
Janie looks at her friend, then back to the Troll below. He’s in an animated conversation with Frederick Ka Fai, gesturing broadly to the bike. Frederick does his best to seem only slightly impressed, but once the other Troll revs the engine, sending an electric purr echoing down the street, he can’t keep a tusky smile back.
Gobbet nearly whines at the sound of it, propping her chin back up in her hands again, staring out across the bay. Folly scurries up onto Gobbet’s head, sniffing wildly at the air, leaning toward the bike.
“It’s too nice a machine to be around here,” Duncan muses, resting his arms on the railing. “Far cry from all those modded bikes in the barrens. What did you used to call them?”
“Crotch rockets,” Janie nods. Gobbet snickers. “Yeah, those all sucked. They got the job done and then went fast. All the wannabe Go-Gangers tried to get them. So you could kill anyone in your way. Or launch yourself over the handlebars into the fence, skidding across the street.”
“You make it sound like you watched that happen.”
“We did,” Janie and Duncan answer simultaneously.
