We introduce: Néstor Prieto. Curator and artist. Image: made available 2020 Néstor Prieto, was born in 1982 in Riós, Ourense. Lives and works in Madrid. As a video artist he has participated in festivals such as the Optica Festival in its editions in Gijón, Madrid, Buenos Aires, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa and Sderot. He has also participated in the XV edition of the Spanish Film Festival of Málaga with his video work UMBRA. He currently produces his works in La Neomudejar. He is also a member of the board of the Association of Spanish Video Artists „VA“ (Videoartistas Asociados). He is a lecturer in the Master in Management of the Film Industry at the Carlos III University of Madrid in the subject „Video Art“. He currently also directs the video art festival IVAHM, which has succeeded in creating a model for a non-contentional festival with an international character, using Madrid as its main venue, where not only works but also projects of artistic exchange between the different participating countries are presented. The first edition was held in Madrid and has had continuity in La Coruña (Spain), Toro (Colombia) and soon in Buenos Aires (Argentina). Both Nestor and Francisco will talk about the projects they have both initiated and will tell us about them. They will also talk about the collaboration and exchange between Spanish and Swiss artists. Lives and works in Zurich In her process- and research-oriented investigation projects, at the interface between documentation and fiction, she explores social paradoxes and experiments with different media approaches to everyday reality (photography, text, audio, intervention). She is currently pursuing an artistic doctorate on the subject of „‚Loitering‘ as public everyday practice – ‚Loitering‘ as an artistic strategy“ as part of the SNSF project „Fragmented City“ at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). In this context, she examines how performative means can be used to establish temporary and situational informal spaces of encounter and communication between strangers in public urban spaces. We introduce our invited artists: Claudia Grimm. *1952 in Berlin, lives in Tägertschi and works in Ostermundigen/BE http://ostgleis1.ch Claudia Grimm is a performance artist. Her most medium is text – in spoken improvised, but also in literary form. In her solo performances she uses forms of speech, reading and storytelling. The different linguistic codes within the art world have inspired Claudia Grimm to her long-term project DARTS (disappearing artists). This fictitious nine-person art collective produces fictitious art in public space, for example, which becomes „visible“ and tangible for the audience solely through the mediating explanations during public art tours or in various accompanying discourses. Parallel to these works, the cooperation with the performance artist Pascale Grau also takes place. In live improvisations the duo experiments with the greatest possible reduction of intention and meaning. Fields of meaning, which, for example, link fragments of communication with sequences of images, only emerge here through coincidences within loops and overlaps. The duo has shown its performances in Basel (Dock, Kasko), in Hegenheim, in Zofingen, in Lupsingen, among others. We introduce our invited artists: Doris Steinbichler. *1965. Image: made available. Lives between Wien and Mexiko. Performance artist, improvisation musician, curator and traveller between Austria and Mexico. Her work is cross-genre and cross-media, moving between performance art, visual art, noise, electronic music and free improvisation. She uses analogue visuals and voice improvisations to make simultaneous, overlapping and contradictory perceptions visible and audible. This artistic strategy is an ongoing research in experimental psychology and shamanism in response to palpable mental disorders in the urban environment of the 21st century. Winner of the Mexican Performance Art Prize in 1993 and the Mexican Radio Art Prize in 2000, she founded and directed the art space Epicentro in Mexico City between 1999 and 2004, where over one hundred events between installation, performance, photography, video, multimedia, electronic music, dance and spoken word were produced. She also founded and organized the one-week radio festival „Remediar – the unofficial radio biennial“ (2002), the Expander Cinema and analogue projection collectives „Trinchera Ensamble“ (Mexico, 2004) and „4shrooms“ (Austria, 2007). After having followed a professional classical dance training courses, her artistic work is at the crossroads between performing and visual arts. She graduated from Geneva School of Art and Design (HEAD) in 2017, where she developed her practice of performance work, under the pedagogic supervision of La Ribot, Christophe Kim, Yan Duyvendak. Anne-Lise is Associate Artist at L’Abri for the 2018-2019 season. “Through the observation of societal actions, I operate by displacing and creating relationships between materials having various purposes. Between participative practices and social interactions,I call upon the spectator to think about their own body as a space of re- creation. My practice goes through the exploration of gestures, their origins, their automatic or conscience impulses, their experience.
