Joint Entrance Examination (IIT JEE) is an engineering entrance examination conducted for admission for Engineering & Architecture courses into IITs, NITs or other prestigious colleges in India. It constitutes 2 different examinations – JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
The JEE Main will be conducted twice before admissions in the next academic session. Over 921,000 are expected to appear for the IIT JEE examination in 2020. The top students who take the JEE-Main qualify for the JEE-Advanced examination. As per the official changes, 12th board marks will not be considered for normalisation and A.I.R will strictly be based on JEE Scores.
Each year the Joint Entrance Examination Mains is held by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Admissions will be provided to exam qualifying candidates for admission into undergraduate courses leading to a Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s or Bachelor-Master Dual Degree in Engineering, Sciences or Architecture.
2.5 Lac candidates who qualify JEE Main will become eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced and the exam will be conducted in 5 countries including USA (San Francisco).
Eligibility
Performance in Class 12: Minimum 75% marks in 10+2 or equivalent.
No age limit specified for JEE Main.
Students are provided only 3 attempts to qualify the JEE Main examination
NOTE - Candidates who have passed Class 12th in 2017 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2021 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)–2020.

Students can appear in all the four sessions, and their best score in JEE Main 2021 will be considered as final. The first shift of JEE Main examination will be from 9 am to 12 pm while the second will be from 3 pm to 6 pm.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the JEE Main admit card 2021 in the first week of January.
