“a dream is a wish your heart makes”

hello friends! we are here to request a fun and friendly disney family.we thought there might be interest in creating characters that play cast members at disneyworld and thought this might be a fun way of putting that out there. there’s no age requirement for this request ( though keep in mind the park cast average an age of 18 - 30 ). the only requirement is that you respect and match the ethnic background of the character you will be portraying ( our focus being poc characters with this rule ). 

there is one twist to this request. we know that disney still has a ways to go with inclusion and we want to help create that even if just for our board. so! we will be accepting original princesses/princes from countries that are not currently represented. ( ex: japan, south korea, south africa, thailand, etc ) you don’t need to go into full detail of the au prince/ess you are creating ( but you are more than welcome to give a little history for them in character development ) , all we need is a name and country. with these oc princes/esses you are also welcome to make them part of the lgbtq community. 

we’ll provide a basic list of the spots available, but if there is a cast member you would like your character to portray that isn’t listed just let me know and i’ll add them in!

who doesn’t love a good childhood friendship crew? this is going to be pretty to the point, but still super cute and all that jazz. the town is orlando, it’s summer in the early 2000s, and a bunch of tired parents are out asking for nothing more than a break from the summer break infused energy of their kids. it’s after a “stroke of genius” from one of the parents and a handful of community discussion that work begins on the remodeling of a large but virtually abandoned old building into that of a community center for kids. the objective of the center is not only to give them a trusted and safe place to go throughout the year, but to … you know, give parents a bit of a break (but the kids didn’t really understand that until later in life). the center opens just shy of the finishing of the 2000 - 2001 school year, and it’s a hit right off of the bat. minds are molded, children are happy, and friendships begin to be formed that are either temporary or long-lasting. for a group of twelve of these kids, it’s the latter. all roughly six years old at the time, these twelve kids bonded together in a way that was unique to any of the other friendship circles who frequented the community center. they did everything together and, by the time their first summer at the center had ended and a new school year had began, they began to meet up just as often elsewhere. twelve birthday parties yearly, trick r’ treating together at halloween, christmas parties with cliche secret santa presentings, outings into the heart of orlando to terrorize all of the theme parks, carpooling together to school (no matter how cramped and questionably legal the seatbelt situation got). even after they grew older and were less likely to hang around the community center they still hung around each other … exchanging out their more childlike activities for “age appropriate” ones (like hanging around the mall, loitering outside of gas stations and trying to sneak into r-rated movies). now all in their early twenties, they’re all still close in their own way, but with adulthood brings changes and also challenges. some have stayed within the orlando area while others have moved away. some attended college locally while others went to other cities around the country, or even studied abroad. some are just as they were growing up while others have drastically changed. all that has really stayed the same is that they love each other and they swear that they’ll always be there for each other whenever they can. or they hope, at least.  like said: this is a pretty general plot and it’s broad enough that it can be worked at from several different angles depending on the character that you have. there aren’t a lot of requirements for it either, just the following: they were all raised in orlando (and lived in the same general neighborhood), they were in the same year in school, and they’d all be twenty-five or so (either recently turned twenty-five or they’re set to turn it before the end of this summer). for the sake of being fair and even there’s gonna be a six male / six female ratio for the group, but obviously if anyone wanted to make a trans or nonbinary character we can work that out!!!!

it’s not often that friendships stick like this. from diapers when their parents were the ones who were friends, all the way through school, to now. adults trying to navigate their lives. they’ve always been inseparable, always been around orlando causing their own brand of trouble. everyone knew that where one went, the others would follow. summer camps, parties; basically any scheme that they all came up with.

they were all into the same kind of scene, skating and surfing and finding themselves in hot water. breaking into abandoned buildings for fun and the chance to film viral skating videos, running away for the weekend to go on a roadtrip, all landing themselves in jail one night and having to get bailed out by their exasperated parents. they probably found a way to con money out of unsuspecting holidayers at one point or another, and it was all normal.

they don’t have to keep all the same characteristics of the babies but maybe just the general vibe? like, chuckie as the cautious one, the angelica being bratty and spoilt. i’d love for phil and lil to still be twins but they don’t have to have the same connections! the only other requirement is for susie and kimi’s ethnicities not to be bent. but basically they’re just a chilled out bunch of trouble makers taking advantage of their life in orlando! hmu @ gem#0531 if you want to discuss anyone but i’d just love a friend group for lachy

saffire’s lagoon, known affectionately and almost exclusively by locals in the area as saffy’s, is a beach-themed dive bar a few miles from ucf’s campus. opened in 2010 by a ucf grad who never quite got over his senior spring break trip to cancun, it’s known for its cheap drinks and lax security, making it a favorite among college kids and young adults. saffy’s features over ten bars inside and outside, a shot wheel, and a large man-made “beach” - an outdoor area covered in sand with a few “lagoons” throughout, where you’ll find mermaids pouring shots thursday through saturday. no one would ever describe saffy’s as quiet or clean and the service most nights is questionable at best, but it’s developed an almost cult-like following in the years it’s been open. people love saffy’s for what it is - a place to see classmates (or old classmates), drink $2 beer, and make questionable decisions without judgment.

hm? is this based on my two favorite bars bc i don’t know if i’ll get to go this summer? mayhaps!! but in any case, i’m looking for a group of co-dependent co-workers who contribute to the charm and the chaos that is saffy’s. 

JACK / owner (first last, 32+, played by name) — founded saffire’s lagoon sometime after his college graduation in 2010 - whether it was a quarter-life crisis or a lifelong dream, the story changes depending on who asks. big time peter pan complex, could stand to do some growing up, just might for LAURA if she would ever give him the time of day. may or may not be the reason that the whole “never trust a man whose name starts with j” trend started going around, but he takes excellent care of the people he employs. despite his carefree attitude, saffy’s is his baby, he put blood, sweat, and tears into making it what it is, and he continues to work hard to ensure it’s success.

LAURA / front bar (first last, 30+, reserved for del) — has been working at saffy’s for as long as it’s been open and is almost as integral to its success as JACK is. the two of them are as close as one would expect after working together for ten years, although LAURA refuses to acknowledge that time they slept together after the infamous Holiday Party of 2015. she’s got the patience of a saint, usually the one left to train the new employees and ultimately decide who makes it working here or not. a tough love kinda gal, but always willing to lend a helping hand for the greater good. good at her job, dammit, just don’t try to pry into her personal life.

CALEB / beach bar (first last, 25+, played by name) — CALEB is LAURA’S younger brother (or cousin or bff, utp!!), something the rest of the staff figured out quick because his behavior would never have flown otherwise. like, LAURA once caught him and RILEY doing coke in the bathroom during one of their breaks but let it go. also sometimes drinks on the job when he feels like it. lazy, but well-meaning, no one can find it in their heart to stay mad at CALEB for too long, even when they have to pick up his slack. prefers to spend his shifts flirting with JACK, too preoccupied looking around to see where he’s at on any given night to notice that ANGEL has been trying to get his attention.

ANGEL / beach bar (first last, 22+, reserved for jenn) — despite being hired around the same time as RILEY, MARA, OLIVER, and KYLE, no one knows much of anything about angel. but it’s not for lack of trying. it’s gotten to the point where the co-workers make up stories about her background and place bets on who can get closest to the truth, if ANGEL is willing to confirm anything in the first place. it’s not that she don’t want to share anything about herself, she’s just quiet, and it’s become kind of fun being the mysterious one in the bar. unbeknownst to the rest of the group, and without even realizing it himself, CALEB knows ANGEL better than anyone else.

RILEY / shot wheel + mermaid (riley emerson, 22, sydney sweeney, played by alex) — applied to work at saffy’s because her boyfriend at the time, KYLE, got an interview. they broke up (for the first time) shortly after, but she decided not to quit bc she really liked the attention of bartending. they’ve been off and on for the majority of their time at saffy’s, though in the last year or so, they broke up for good. RILEY is easygoing and friendly, usually the one found playing therapist to drunk girls at her bar. sometimes acts without thinking which has gotten her into more than a few sticky situations. trying to be more responsible now that she’s a college grad, which finds her turning down all of OLIVER’S advances.

MARA / beach bar + mermaid (holly mack, 24, kristine froseth, played by maddie) — MARA’S got a rep for being kinda mean to customers, but she’s so pretty that no one has ever complained. lives with the RILEY, but whether they hate or love each other just depends on the day. they had a 3-way with KYLE after the aforementioned Holiday Party of 2015, which continues to be the butt of many jokes among the staff. went on a date with KYLE shortly after that, but felt guilty bc of his relationship with RILEY so she made him swear to keep it a secret and she keeps him at an arm’s length to this day.

OLIVER / bouncer (first last, 22+, reserved for bribri) — something of a celebrity in the bar - there was once an entire instagram account dedicated to “saffy’s hot bouncer”. the attention mostly goes over his head, but JACK is happy to have him outside the front door most nights to bring business in. OLIVER’S a good guy, level-headed and patient enough to break up fights and turn away drunk people without anything ever escalating. he’s had a crush on RILEY since they all started working together four years ago, but kept his distance out of respect for KYLE. now that they’ve finally broken up, the two of them have been getting a lot closer, but he can’t tell how she actually feels about it.

KYLE / shot wheel (first last, 22+ reserved for derek) —KYLE is the resident himbo. pretty harmless because he’s so dumb, although like RILEY, he trends towards impulsiveness more often than not. KYLE’S the one behind some of the more chaotic practices and themes at saffy’s (i.e.: hawaiian shirt night). only got put at the shot wheel because they needed someone tall enough and strong enough to be able to spin it. he’s been trying to get moved to the beach bar so that he can spend more time with MARA because he knows that he can charm her if he can just get the chance. 

ok so! this is just a list of co-workers that riley is closest with, but i am completely open to other staff members as well! they can be intermingled with the core group i have listed if you have ideas, or they can just be begrudging witnesses as they try to go about their job. i’m also open to other positions besides bartenders/bouncers, like bar backs and cooks, or the more administrative side of things, like marketing managers or operations. just let me know if you’re looking for a job for your character and what you have in mind, i’d be more than happy to squeeze as many people in as possible! reply here or add me on discord (alex???#0019) and i’d be happy to chat. thx for reading :)

alex fitzalan / one half of the product of a failed high school romance. but he’ll tell you that his dad is leif garrett … because he legitimately believes he is. / born and raised in los angeles, caliornia. / a lucky bastard that scored an internship at a late night talk show during his first year of uni, which opened the door to him being brought on as a writer for a greenlit that he relocated to orlando for at twenty. / … which was then cancelled on his twenty-first birthday. / decided to stick around the city for a few different reasons, but primarily because he likes going on the mummy ride at universal on loop. / currently writes for virtually any online publication that’ll take him. has written editorials and ranking pieces for a wide array of topics. so many that he couldn’t give you a list of them even if he tried. / a great engine for coming up with creative ideas for new sitcom pilots, but a mega magnet for writer’s block … which he goes through on a regular basis. / grows a #misery beard at least four times a year thanks to that block. / doesn’t know who david pack from ambrosia is. / can be most easily found guest starring in videos that his girlfriend, phoebe, makes on her youtube channel.

26. local. big ol mess. he and his brother were raised by their grandparents. grew up skateboarding and surfing and not taking life so seriously, and that really hasn’t changed. never went to college, never really wanted to do anything enough to make it a career. so here he is. bartending and trying to charm all the tourists into his bed, so long as he knows they’ll be gone by the weekend. likes weed. likes playing guitar. likes spending all day at the beach and avoiding his emotions in favour of staying detached. will do anything in the name of fun and a story.
