I HEARD YOU WANTED TO TALK ABOUT A TCE HS AU TELL ME I AM INTRIGUED

OKAY SO LEMME START THIS OFF BY SAYING: IRIS IS STILL A STREET RAT (kinda)

Iris is a troubled kid, grew up in the system and bounced school to school because of a few different reasons until about 13, she was adopted at 12 and moved to a city at 14, she gets kicked out of a few school because anger issues + getting bullied don't mix well.

She ends up going to a new school and gets into a fight with a jock her first day, the jock in question is Marc. This is when she meets Cleo, who saves her from getting beaten to a pulp.

Cleo walks her home and they end up becoming fast friends. They have all the same classes and spend almost all there time together.

Iris ends up becoming friends with two other kids at the school, Layla (a character based on an ensemble member) and MC.

MC is nonbinary and bounces from Cleo's friend group to Marc's and back, they're dating Marc.

Iris and Cleo start dating on New Year's day.

Layla and Iris are best friends and Layla enables Iris and her hijinks.

Cleo is a rich girl but isn't your stereotypical mean girl, she takes care of the people she cares about and writes extra notes in class for people who are absent. She helps Iris with classwork and basically just makes sure that Iris can do well in school.

Octavian is older than Marc so he doesn't go to school with the rest of the group, he's kind of an asshole and is pretty much just like he is in the show.

I'll write a more in depth post for Cleo and Iris' relationship progression soon!
