Generation 3 was the longest generation so far and it felt like it...As I probably said a couple of times already I honestly would have chosen a different Lifetime Wish if I knew completing “Monster Maker” was going to be this tedious and time-consuming but alas I didn’t know 😅 so I went through with it, even if it was frustrating or boring at times.
On the bright side, this gave me time to explore the pack! I like how much is included with the Inventing Skill (all the gadgets to improve life, the toys to give to children, time machine, consignment shop...!) and how spacious and diverse Twinbrook is. I can see myself revisiting this world in the future, I think a lot can be done here, more than what I’d done 😊 Also as per usual, it’s amazing how the expansion not only adds new things but builds on previously added features. This is something the next title seriously lacks... I don’t know what went wrong during the development of The Sims 4 but I’m happy to see The Sims 3 continues being thoughtful and detailed~
On the other hand, I feel a little regretful as the generation dragged on and that made me wrap it up a little abruptly... Well, all in all this generation gave me a fun and loving family & a line of heirs perfect for what’s to come. And I’m grateful for that 💖

ALL IN ONE LEGACY CHALLENGE: REVISITED!
Not too long ago, I had asked if you guys would like me to rewrite my All In One legacy challenge that is based off the LEPacy challenge! I decided, why not? I have attempted this challenge multiple times but the only reason that I have not gotten through is because I am never happy with my founder- but, now, it is 2022, and I have made this challenge a few years ago and I think it needs some touching up. This challenge spans from the base game and ends with Into The Future, though you can continue on after if you would like to.
Notes: You can either play this like the original legacy challenge rules where you are not allowed to use cheats, etc. or you can play this however you want! I personally do not mind using cheats and stuff. Challenge under the cut!
 GENERATION ONE: THE BASE GAME
Recommended World: Sunset Valley, or any world.
The very beginning. How lovely to start out when the sims 3 was just only the base game?
·         Have your founder get a career that comes from the base game (science, military, etc.)
·         Have your founder meet the love of their life
·         You may choose to get married or don’t get married
·         You may not have kids until you reach at least level three of career
·         Pick a hobby and reach between level three to five (Gardening, Logic, etc.)
·         Have a child or many children
·         Complete your aspiration and/or reach the top of your career
 GENERATION TWO: WORLD ADVENTURES
Recommended World: Any world.
Generation two has arrived and your spent most of your time as a plain jane. But now, you want to get out there and see what the world offers before life passes you by.
·         Have a bad relationship with your parents (they don’t like the idea of you travelling by yourself!)
·         Have a best friend
·         Travel to Egypt, China, and France at least once
·         Max out your Vista level and complete at two tombs, or all of them!
·         Reach at least level 3 of the martial arts, nectar making and photography skill
·         Marry a foreigner from any of the travel destinations or marry your best friend
·         Have at least one child
 GENERATION THREE: AMBITIONS
Recommended World: Twinbrook, or Twinbrook Revisited
With your parent being the adventurous type, they always encouraged you to follow your dreams and to never let someone tell you that you can’t do it. So, with a million goodbye kisses, you set off for the town, Twinbrook, the place of ambition!
·         Move to Twinbrook
·         Join the Firefighter, Designer, Ghost Hunter, Investigator, or Stylist career
·         Create at least one sim bot
·         Reach the top of your profession
·         Fall in love with one of your clients, whether custom or a pedestrian!
·         Get married or choose not to
·         Have at least one child
 GENERATION FOUR: LATE NIGHT
Recommended World: Bridgeport
You wanted the lights, the cameras, and the action! Being young, everyone would have the dream of being a superstar, and you always caught yourself watching those sleezy romance films (even though you’re not supposed to be). Having the motivation and fuel to become a sleezy star yourself and be known by every sim in the universe, you set out for Bridgeport!
·         Move to Bridgeport- however, you may either start completely from the bottom and live in a small house or move into a penthouse/apartment
·         Join the film career after you reach level three of any instrument of your choosing (guitar, piano, etc.)
·         Meet someone new at one of the clubs
·         Reach level five of the film career
·         End up pregnant, or get someone pregnant by someone at the club
·         Do something that the public dislikes
·         Reach a five star celebrity level
·         Have a bad relationship with the person you got pregnant, or got you pregnant
·         Don’t get married
·         Have at least one child
 GENERATION FIVE: GENERATIONS
Recommended World: Any
Your parent wasn’t really around much as a child and you were longing for that parental love for a long time. Eventually, you decided that you’ve had it and you’re going to go off, away from your parent and start a family of your own and make sure they receive all the love that they deserve.
·         Have a bad relationship with your parent
·         Fall in love with someone from your school (or job if you are already a young adult)
·         Move to a different town of your choice
·         Join any career or become a stay at home sim
·         Have a high relationship with your lover and child/ren
·         Send one of the kids to boarding school
·         Have your child/ren reach level three of at least five skills before they become a teen
·         Complete your aspiration and/or reach the top of your career
·         Have at least one child
 GENERATION SIX: PETS
Recommended World: Appaloosa Plains
With the family being lively and being nurtured since you were born, you never thought about having a pet growing up. Now knowing how to take care of yourself and wanting to take care of others, you decided to dedicate your life to giving the furry friends a chance at love and affection too!
·         Have at least one pet as a teen or child
·         Move to Appaloosa Plains and take your pet with you (if they’re still alive!)
·         Have a pet related trait and aspiration
·
·         Have a total of at least five pets over the course of time
·         Fall in love with someone who has a pet related trait
·         Get married and have at least one child
 GENERATION SEVEN: SHOWTIME
Recommended World: Starlight Shores or Starlight Shores Revamped/Fixed
You remembered them! An old family member from an old TV show from ages ago. You’d never thought you’d see the day where they would still air that crap. However, this inspires you to become a star yourself- not a sleezy one, but a way better entertainer than that family member. Besides, pets weren’t your thing anyway.
·         Move to Starlight Shores
·         Rake up some cash and work at a part time job until you reach level two of that career, and quit when you realize this isn’t for you!
·         Have the Master Magician, Master Acrobat, or Vocal Legend aspiration (depends on the career you choose)
·         Have at least three shows
·         Have a relationship with a fan and have a child with them
·         Move in with them but do not get married
·         Reach level 10 of your career and finish your aspiration
·         Have at least one child
 GENERATION EIGHT: SUPERNATURAL
Recommended World:  Moonlight Falls or Midnight Hollows (if you own this world)
Why is that same family member showing up again? This time they were in some freaky teen wolf movie. Ew, that blood totally looked fake. However, right after the show went off, they always showed off these spooky looking towns and it only made you want to travel to them to see them for yourself.
·         Move to Moonlight Falls or Midnight Hollows
·         Learn the alchemy skill and reach at least level 5
·         Visit the graveyard at night at least three times
·         Join the alchemist or fortune teller career
·         Find a way to become a supernatural being
·         If you become a witch, own a broom and a black cat
·         Find love, even though you think no one will want to be with a supernatural creature
·         Do not get married and have at least one child
·         Have a supernatural related aspiration and finish it and/or reach the top of your career
 GENERATION NINE: SEASONS
Recommended World:  Any
You didn’t know what weather was, nor did you know how it happened. You thought being a supernatural was weird… wait until you hear about water falling from the sky!
·         Experience every season
·         Attend every festival
·         Participate in every holiday
·         Make an online dating profile and fail with at least two people before you find the one
·         Find the weather stone (Supernatural is needed) and manipulate the weather
·         Fall in love with someone who is the opposite of you (if you love the cold, they love the heat!)
·         Get married and have at least one child.
 GENERATION TEN: UNIVERSITY LIFE
Recommended World:  Any
It’s time to get schooled! It’s time to take that big step in your life and go get a degree! Now… how to get that pesky mascot to go away and how do you fill out the aptitude test…?
·         Take the aptitude and leave for university as soon as possible
·         Meet your love in university, but they’re only a romantic interest
·         Be apart of at least one social group
·         Choose any major you want
·         Either become a plant sim or turn someone into a plant sim (your romantic interest maybe?)
·         Protest about any cause of your choosing
·         Finish school and get your degree
·         Have your romantic interest from university move in (cheats may be needed)
·         Join any career of your choice with the degree you have
·         Have at least one child
 GENERATION ELEVEN: ISLAND PARADISE
Recommended World:  Isla Paradiso, Isla Paradiso Fixed, Sunlit Tides (if you own this world)
You parents went to school so you could relax and enjoy the sun, surf, and sand! They weren’t going to take that trip anytime soon due to being busy with work, so you set off, and took the trip yourself! Don’t worry, you promise to send a postcard.
·         Move to Isla Paradiso or Sunlit Tides
·         Reach level five of the scuba skill without being eaten
·         Join the lifeguard career
·         Have either the Loves to Swim trait or Sailor trait
·         Have the Seaside Savior aspiration
·         Have one of the people you saved be your romantic interest
·         Have at least one child
·         Lose your lover to a water accident after the child is born
 GENERATION TWELVE: INTO THE FUTURE
Recommended World:  Any
Losing a family member to an untimely death took a toll on you and the remaining parent. You knew that there had to be some way that you could turn back time and save them… wait… is that… is that a portal in your front yard? And who is that weird, blue haired man? We aren’t going to the past… we’re heading to the future!
·         Travel to the future
·         Visit your ancestors and have a good relationship with them
·         Have every piece of future technology (Holo Computer, Hoverboard, Jetpack, etc.)
·         Master the bot building skill, advanced technology skill, and the laser rhythm-a-con skill
·         Have the bot fan trait
·         Have the High Tech Collector, More Than a Machine, or Made the Most of My Time lifetime wish
·         Own your own futuristic home and own at least two robots that you created yourself
·         Change the future to each state, (Dystopian, Utopian, and back to normal)
·         Have at least one legacy statue
·         Join the astronomer, Bot Building, or Bot Arena career and reach the top of it
·         Find a lover in the future and genetically engineer a baby
Congratulations! Each generational goal equals one point so tally the points from the goals you managed to complete and find the total score! If you have any questions regarding the legacy or the goals itself, do not hesitate to ask. Happy simming!

More families
Tumblr media
This is where the Bedlington family from that pony town in Pets, live. This lot came with the world and is right around the corner from the first lots I showed you. (They’re the 2 behind the ice cream truck).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I made a few changes on the outside - most notably, I got rid of part of the shadow “deck” on the streetside of the lot. Mostly because these sims have a dog and he needs someplace to do dog stuff – like pee. Plus, there was no access to the area from the 2 bedrooms, so it seemed like a waste of space. BTW, that chimney is not black in-game. Not sure why it did that here. It matches the stonework on this house. But looking at these pictures, I’ll probably just delete it.
Tumblr media
Anyway, here’s the family. https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Bedlington_family He’s a member of the town’s string quartet, while she works in the business office as a department head. She’s currently on maternity leave, because she’s about to pop one out of the old oven. And neither one of them likes kids. They also have a dog that’s currently running around town. I did leave EA’s description in play - with a few tweaks to fit this world - making them the nouveau riche family that this town’s founders love to hate. They moved here, because the husband got an offer to join the local orchestra, and luckily, the wife was able to get a transfer with her company to this island’s branch. She is currently in an Alto/Landgraab power struggle at work with Edward Garner – the current CEO of the company where she works. (He’s “old” money and doesn’t approve of her family). BTW, I haven’t bothered to do much with the wife, since she’s 2 days from popping out her kid. Once she does, I’ll take her into CAS and redress her. I’ll  also age the brat up then too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This family came from the same world. https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Fox_family They were EA’s token Native Americans. And since this world is located in the Northwest, I decided to rename them to that family that was in those stupid Twilight movies and make them members of the Quileute tribe. Plus, I gave them a make-over and got them some semi-decent clothes. Like other island natives, they are not big fans of the Bedlingtons. Anyway, he now works in law enforcement, as the town sheriff; while she has a seat on the town council. I also aged up their rugrat, since she is pregnant when you open the game and I didn’t want 2 toddlers in one house. Especially since I need brats in my school. Not sure where he - or their dog - are now. Give a brat a bike and away he goes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, this is also a world lot. I did give them a garden in that area between the house and the barn, and got rid of some crap. (Johnny does like his hardscape surfaces!) Plus – in addition to the 2 horses and dog they had back in Appaloosa Plains - I gave the baby horse a mom. Because he was missing his.
Tumblr media
And this is where the Woods family live. The house came from Mod the Sims and is called the Mayfield, by Alverdine. It was originally a corner lot that was built for Riverview, I believe, so I finagled the driveway a tad. I also got rid of the “raised” beds out back, and slapped down that thingie from that greenhouse set. And added some more veggies. And a few more trees. (And that “insect house” on the side was deleted later). Inside, it was just an empty shell, so I got to do the whole Mid-Century modern thing.
Tumblr media
The Woods family -  https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Woods_family - is supposed to be Starlight Shores’ version of the Greenwood family in Twinbrook. So, of course they hate, hate, hate the Bedlingtons – who drive around town in their gas-guzzlers and toss their fastfood wrappers out their car windows. But they are friends with the Black family, because it’s socially correct and these sims are all about PC. Since there are only 3 of them when you open the family in Starlight Shores – and this is a big house - I decided they needed to adopt a child. I also gave them a cat and a dog. But again, they all disappeared when it was picture time. The father now works as a fertilizer analyst for the science branch, while his hippy-dippy wife is a teacher. I thought those 2 jobs fit in better with their bio.

Sims 4 Simdew Valley Challenge (base game friendly)
Hello! I tried bunch of farm challenges and came up with this one. It is structured, base game friendly and flexible. Please google how to use cheats or install mods, I won't explain it here.
Also this challenge was inspired by two challenges: 1 and 2.
To win
Main goal is to purchase all upgrades from the list and accomplish Freelance Botanist aspiration. If you own Get to work, you also obligated to open a shop. For more fun I made 21 tasks you can accomplish for reward.
At the end of a challenge your farmer will have big house, happy family and perfect garden.
Backstory
Your grandpa, nobel farmer, passed away and left you all what he had. Unfortunately collectors sold most of his heritage and left you nothing but an old house and empty soil.
Set up
I played this challenge with long seasons and long life span but you can use any settings you want. Also I would start with spring if I where you (you can change season with cheat). You must start as a young adult. Roll the dice for your starter pack.
Books. Grandpa left you the following skill book (tier one): 1-2 Cooking skill book 2-3 Gardening skill book 3-4 Handiness skill book 5-6 One (!) skill book from any EP you own or mod you installed (Herbalism, Knitting, Juice Fizzing, Baking, Flower Arrangement or Canning, Nectar Making, etc.) If you have nothing to choose from, choose any skill from the base game (everyone have a hobby!).
Your skills. You wasn't born yesterday, right? Set the skill to level two using cheats. Choose skill according to dice. 1-2 Cooking skill 2-3 Gardening skill 3-4 Hndiness skill 5-6 One (!) skill from any EP you own or mod you installed (Herbalism, Juice Fizzing, Baking, Flower Arrangement or Canning, Nectar Making, etc.). If you have nothing to choose from, choose any skill from the base game.
Your traits and aspiration
You have to pick one helping trait (love outdoors, genius, creative, perfectionist, green friend, loner, maker) and one bad trait (hot-headed, gloomy, paranoid, squeamish, klepto, jealous). Third trait can be any excluding listed above.
You have one obligatory aspiration and four additional. I suggest you to try aspirations in that order, even if additional ones won't be finished.
1. The curator (sell collectibles for stratum capital) 2. Freelance botanist (obligatory) 3. Big happy family 4. Angling Ace 5. Mansion Baron
Your appearance
You can wear only clothing appropriate for garden, no fancy stuff. You have to pay 500$ every time you want to add new clothing to category.
Your home
Step 1. Choose big lot, preferably deep in forest or on island. There you have empty home with cracked walls and dirty flooring, half of the roof is missing. If you are not a builder, any gallery home will do, just delete wallpaper/flooring/furniture. If you are a builder, I suggest you to make floor plan now.
Keep in mind that you might need a place for garden, greenhouse, barn, basement and crafting studio.
Step 2. To simulate uncomfortable feelings from nearly destroyed home, I suggest you to place everywhere dirty dishes from debug menu.
Step 3. If you can add bad traits to your lot, do it. Creepy crawlies, cursed, filthy, gremlins, quake zone are bad traits.
Step 4. Place the following objects anywhere in the house: - Tent or cheapest bed, - Woodworking table, - Functional pile of books or cheapest bookcase, - Fetilize-able bush or cheapest toilet (must be outdoors anyway), - Cheapes grill (if there is none around), - Outdoor bin, - Washing tub and clothesline (if you own Laundry Day).
Step 5. Use cheat to reduce money to zero.  That's right, you better hurry before you farmer got hungry! I suggest you to look around for collectibles, harvestibles and lost hotdogs. You can use community lots for plumbing. You can't build mansion for community lot and live there!
First steps. Get plumbing, electricity and roof upgrade. After that you can get rid of dirty dishes.
Rules
Money
- You can't sell for profit decorative spider web or cracks in the walls, old furniture and other crap that no one wants. You can't have profit from selling plumbing, walls, windows. Deduct money with cheat.
- Every season OR every four in-game weeks (for base game) you have to sell all old crops and plant new ones. Only crops in greenhouse can stay. Remember, no one wants your crap, leave alone dead roots you just pulled out of the soil! So deduct money you got from sold crops.
- Nothing is free. You have to pay money for wires to be pulled into your house, plumbing to be connected, roof to be repaired, and so on (upgrades list is below).
- You can sell crafted objects and collectibles any way you want: via build mode, inventory, market table, retail business or Plopsy.
- All CC are allowed. Remember, you can't buy cheap or free CC objects, you have to pay for them honest price according to EA prices. Use cheat to deduct money.
Tasks - You can complete tasks for reward. Some of them have penalty for skipping! - Every in-game week have it's own task. For example, you can't take task from week two if you are on week four. - You have only one week for every task, you can't prolong task time. - If you run out of tasks then start list over from the beginning.
Restrictions - You can't start with pre-made family, you start with single sim. Also you can't have pet of your dream from the beginning, getting a pet is another upgrade to purchase. - No potions, spells, immortality, lottery tickets, great-great grandpa money, money tree. - You can hire butler only because he doesn't have to make a long way to your house deep in the woods. All other services forbidden (unless you have live-in services mod). - Your sim can't have a job but he can register profession in the ministry of labor. You are allowed to gain money in any way as long as it is about craft, art and collectibles. - If your main character dies, you have to teach another household member. You can't buy more upgrades with dead sim's skills. - Visiting other sim's house is not allowed if you was not invited. inventory - If task says "hide", you move item to household Inventory and never use it again. - You can't use household Inventory for anything else. That's why you will need to build a barn eventually. - You can carry only following objects using sim's inventory: seeds, upgrade parts, earbuds, camera.
Please read upgrade list to understand what your sim can and can't do at the very beginning.

Tips
Money
- Painting is most profitable, woodcarving is on second place, writing is on third. Flower arrangement is profitable too.
- If you want to abuse rules then you can simply buy bunch of roses via phone (purchase gifts...) and plant them. Very profitable little things
- Most of the collectibles I found was in parks of  Willow Creek, Oasis Springs and Brindleton Bay
Gardening - You can leave plants on ground and make cheap planter box using low heigh fence or dirt tiles - Death flower will give you many flowers once grafted to another bush plant - Harvest spawns at 5-6 AM and only if you are at home lot - I allow using cheats to make plants on community lots bloom. After that you can take home a piece, graft it to your plant and have harvest in three days or so - Seed collecting is pain in TS4. To make it easier for both of us I allow using debug to purchase seeds. BUT you can't order seeds from planter box, phone or computer until you unlock Hello world upgrade. Fell free to search for seeds in San Mishuno market, use N. A. P. or look for plants on community lots
Seasons EP: - If you own Seasons EP consider building greenhouse eventually - I allow loot Patchy for seeds and use him as help - Bees help plants to gain quality in 6 tiles radius, it's 3 planter boxes. You can also bond with bees and later collect swarm to pollinate plants manually - Fetilizer must be expensive, otherwise it does nothing
Related CC (free, always updated, no ads)
All Icemunmun's and Brazen Lotus's mods are perfect for farming challenges but I use only canning mod and retail displays (it's just personal preference).
Find all collectibles automatically
Better gardening - 1 and 2
No tiny harvestables
More woodcarving recepies
Rustic wooden toilet for set up
Seasons EP:
Weather overhaul for Seasons
Caigel Garden Sign Collection - All Packs Edition + Extra (only basegame required!)
Thank you for your attention! I am opened for suggestions. Also I'm not native eng speaker so pardon my grammar.

72- “Tallawah”
Beginning / Previously /  Next
(For easier reading, the above is also captioned under the cut.)
W: …It went. I offered to work remotely until they can find my replacement. That seemed to lessen the blow. I think Marilyn was relieved that I wasn’t going to “Taste” or one of the other foodie mags.
O: I’m surprised you want to do that.
W: A paycheck is a pay check. I can’t really afford to turn one down at this point, especially if I’m going the condo route.
O: I can respect that. You’re still uncomfortable with the idea of Mirage Park?
W: *sigh* I mean it makes sense. I get it, but—
O: It’s not a bad area. Imane is right it’s changing rapidly. I wouldn’t want you there if it were dangerous.
W: Ok. So I know I made a big deal about “feeling unsafe” but honestly? That doesn’t really worry me. It just seemed like the only objection that Penny & Imane would respect.
O: I don’t follow…
W: Little known fact? Long before my dad became an elder statesman he was military. He joined straight out of high school to help pay for college. My maternal grandfather was a police lieutenant in Twinbrook.  Julian and I learned how to defend ourselves before we were even allowed to cross the street alone. I was raised knowing that mi likkle but mi tallawah.
O: *laughing* I am simultaneously surprised, confused and aroused. What does that even mean?
W: Basically it means I’m small but tough.
O: That I can believe. Now I’m more aroused more than anything else. *Walker giggles* so if it’s not your safety that concerns you—
W: “Up and coming”? “Rapidly developing”? “Newly developed”? All polite code for gentrification; I don’t want to be that sim.
O: *surprised* Oh… I don’t quite know how to respond to that…
W: Yeah. I’m sure it sounds silly to you. It’s bound to start a conversation with them I’m not up to having.
O: You’re not a gentrifier. I mean, you’re just looking to start fresh.
W: So are most gentrifiers, but intent doesn’t negate results. I grew up privileged. My parents took great pains to make sure Jules and I knew not only how we may be perceived, but also how to move in this world and how our actions can affect it. We weren’t wealthy by any stretch, but we were comfortable.  I don’t know… moving there feels like a betrayal.
O: Then don’t. If it really bothers you, if it betrays your morals—
W: I’m probably over thinking it. Hazard of being the kid of a politician and an attorney I guess.
O: No… I’d say take a look at the place. Get a feel for the community. If it still feels wrong, then trust your gut.
W: Ok… you’re right. I’ll reserve judgment. Thanks. *relieved sigh, then playfully* So… I aroused you did I?
O: *laughing* You have no idea. I find your confidence… intoxicating…
W: *flirtatious giggle* Hmm... is it wrong for me to be picturing you aroused? What are you wearing?

1st Generation Family Overview
The votes seem to be stabilized so I’m closing the poll earlier. Adora won with 75% of the votes and will now be the head of the Aisaka Legacy. I was quite surprised with these results, and quite happy too! I know that people, on legacy challenges, often vote based on Sims’ looks/who they find the prettiest, but here most of you voted for Adora: perhaps to free Ami from a destiny she wouldn’t want? Anyway, thank you everyone for voting, a new chapter will be released today!
Tumblr media
TAIGA BAYLESS (BORN AISAKA) (1800-?)
Tumblr media
Traits: Absent-Minded, Shy, Irresistible, Hot-Headed, Hopeless Romantic
Lifetime Wish: Martial Arts Master
Love interests: Oliver Greenwood (former lover, deceased), Skeet Bayless (former husband, deceased)
Family: Ami Aisaka (daughter), Adora Bayless (daughter), Steve Bayless (son)
Background: Raised in a Japanese-Dutch family, Taiga had to flee from her abusive grandfather who wanted to marry her to a drunkard against her will. She starts a new life in Twinbrook, where her legacy and her story begins. Taiga is a single mother that struggles between poverty and her desperate love for Skeet Bayless, a married man who is also the father of her daughter. After Skeet’s wife die, he finally marries Taiga and moves in with her, putting an end to years of hardship. They have two additional children together before Skeet’s passes away. After her husband’s death, Taiga devotes herself to her garden and her martial arts skills.
SKEET BAYLESS (1765-1837)
Tumblr media
Traits: Absent-Minded, Slob, Loves the Outdoors, Family-Oriented, Angler
Lifetime Wish: Surrounded By Family
Love interests: Gwayne Bayless (former wife, deceased), Taiga Bayless (wife)
Family: Chase Bayless (daughter), Tay Bayless (son), Ami Aisaka (daughter), Adora Bayless (daughter), Steve Bayless (son)
Background: Skeet has always been a family man, but “family” is polysemous word. Is you bastard daughter part of your family, when you already have a wife and two children? Skeet decided that she wasn’t: after all he was only a cemetery caretaker, and if he could afford a second wife, he would not be living in the swamps. By the time his kids were grown-up and married, he realized he had made a huge mistake, so when his wife died, he immediately asked Taiga for her hand in order to make things right. But his daughter Ami would never forgave him - even after he was dead. He never realized his life-time wish of being surrounded by family - he died when his wife was pregnant with his fifth child.
AMI AISAKA (1823-?)
Tumblr media
Traits: Genius, Loner, Frugal, Shy
Lifetime Wish: Animal Rescuer
Love interests: None
Family: Skeet Bayless (father), Taiga Bayless (mother), Chase Bayless (half-sister), Tay Bayless (half-brother), Adora Bayless (sister), Steve Bayless (brother)
Background: Ami is a lonely but adventurous girl who grew up playing in the swamps, and who loves horses more than humans. She’s seen her mother struggle most of her life, and she’s determined to help. But she couldn’t forgive her mother when she decided to marry Skeet Bayless, the worthless progenitor she hated, and the source of all of their problems. She categorically refused to take his name, and insisted on keeping her mother’s name, Aisaka. The only good thing he brought with him was his mare, Bella, who became Ami’s best friend. As a teenager, she spends most of her time helping at home and riding her horse. When she grows up, she would like to become a horsewoman and open a sanctuary for starving stray horses. Her worst fear is to go back to poverty: she doesn’t like to take risks, and his very happy with her family’s current frugal lifestyle.
ADORA BAYLESS (1836-?)
Tumblr media
Traits: Couch Potato, Friendly, Can’t Stand Art
Lifetime Wish: None yet
Love interests: None
Family: Skeet Bayless (father), Taiga Bayless (mother), Chase Bayless (half-sister), Tay Bayless (half-brother), Ami Aisaka (sister), Steve Bayless (brother)
Background: Adora’s childhood was happy. When she was a baby, she received a lot of love from her father, and a lot of attention from her half-brother and her sister when she was a toddler. Unlike her sister, she prefers to stay inside and read a good book near the fireplace. She’s always had all that she needed, and unlike Ami who is turned toward the past, Adora is looking forward to the future: as the heiress, she wants to make a name for herself and pull her family towards modernity and progress! She just doesn’t know how yet...
STEVE BAYLESS (1837-?)
Tumblr media
Traits: Loner, Loves the Outdoor
Lifetime Wish: None yet
Love interests: None
Family: Skeet Bayless (father), Taiga Bayless (mother), Chase Bayless (half-sister), Tay Bayless (half-brother), Ami Aisaka (sister), Adora Bayless (sister)
Background: Steve is just a toddler yet, and there’s not much to say about him. Since he’s never knew his father, his half-brother Tay is just like a father to him.

10 QUESTIONS MEME
I was tagged by @retromaisie  Thank yoU!
1) How long have you been playing your current hood?
- That’s a difficult question to answer. Ever since I figured out how to do all the hoods together back in 2008 or so?  That’s the only way I’ve played.  But I didn’t know about corruption.  And I’ve gone through several computers and several moves since then too. So this specific neighborhood? A couple weeks? maybe? But hopefully I can keep it going far longer.   Oh, and I’ve never had all the custom subhoods in before either, and I’m really loving them.
2) Uh-oh! Your game just exploded: are you going to rebuild or start afresh?
start fresh for about 3 days, and then miss my giant neighborhood too much and rebuild it.   I have everything written down so I know exactly what I need to get it going again.
3) What is your favourite Sims version and why?
- TS2 and TS3 for different reasons.  I got SO attached to my characters in TS3.  I still am. They came alive to me,  and collaborating with other people made the experience that much more amazing.
But for TS2,  the world building, and the ability to easily play every family makes it better for playing whole neighborhoods.  I didn’t like in TS3 that when you go back to a family you played before, major things had happened and there’s no easy way of changing that.
4) What’s an expansion you’d love to see that EA never did for any version of the game?
School and more social life for kids and teens.  They could do so much with that.  Classroom politics, Dances and social activities you could actually participate in, maybe boy scouts and girl scouts.... there could really be a ton of different directions they could have taken something like that.
5) Do you consider yourself primarily a player, builder or decorator? Or other?
- I’m definitely in the Player category.  I can build,  and sometimes I enjoy decorating. But I’d much rather play. ... I think it’s evidenced in my gameplay pics.  I don’t change a whole lot and they are pretty bare for the most part.  Some of my sims get lucky and get decorated spaces.  All the other sims get jealous.
6) Do you play pre-mades, your own sims or a mix?
- In TS3, definitely my own.  They are my babies.   In TS2,  EVERYTHING.  Premades, other people made, my own,  all thrown together.
7) If you could visit one premade world as a real life place, which would it be?
Just one?   I’d have a hard time choosing between  Twinbrook, Monte Vista, and Isla Paradiso  in TS3
8) Tell me about a sim of yours who you were saddest to lose (death, game glitch or whatever…)
- in TS3,  i had a MASSIVE computer crash. I lost everything. I had over 100 TS3 characters and only managed to save a handful that I’d shared with other people. That still hurts.
9) If you could go back and change one thing about your simming, knowing what you know now, what would it be?
Corruption corruption corruption -(in TS2)   Don’t create SO MANY characters in TS3.
10) Do you aim to give your sims a happy perfect life, or enjoy watching their struggle and misery? >:)
I like to play my sims as real characters with real motivations and needs.  People’s wants and needs make them screw up, it’s what makes us human.  I treat sims the same way.  I try to play them through their own eyes.  What would they do in the situation, how would they react?
11.  What is your favourite aspect of the Simblr community?
FEEDBACK.  Bouncing ideas off each other,  getting inspiration,  all of that.  Sharing sims and stories.  It’s amazing.
12.  Besides tumblr, how else do you interact with the simming community?
- I’m involved in several roleplays with other simmers and their characters, It’s a lot of fun,  and while it isn’t specifically “playing sims”   it’s definitely in the sims community so I say that counts.
13. Lastly (this question is my favourite!) - Another simmer whose game you would love to have and why?
Anyone in TS2 or TS3 who’s game is decorated and built nicely.  I really do with I had the patience and desire.  But I don’t.
Tagging -  Anyone that wants to.  Seriously.  DO IT.
I have a headache, so I don’t really feel like coming up with new questions.  I know I answered more than 10, but someone try to arrest me for it :P
You don’t have to answer 10.  Answer whichever ones you want to,  come up with your own new questions about the game that you’d like to answer instead of these

Rules for sims living in the samkat universe (or Life sucks and then you die!)
So, for those of you who are following my LTW Challenge posts, you may be wondering what Sofia is talking about, when she talks about repairs and taxes. Or, for that matter, anything simoleon-related.
In all of my worlds, I have a general rule, to not allow my sims to have skill items - like computers, easels, alchemy stations, etc - in their homes until they are at least level 5 in their career. And they really have to need them to advance any further. Even then, they have to buy the cheap one that always breaks. The only items exempt from this rule, are the 3 skill books that come with all bookcases. I did this, initially, to force sims to get off their lazy duffs and use my community lots. I spend a lot of time, putting said skill items all around my town, so they can at least get out there and use the junk. Ditto, with swimming pools. Unless they are stinking rich - like the Landgraabs and Goths - they are expected to use the town pool.
I also charge the sims that I play for everything. Sofia mentioned that she can't afford the taxi. Well, that's because the average short ride in the taxi costs $5. And if she wanted to take it back home, another $5. If she had wanted to go to the library - on the other side of the island - it would have cost $25 to get there. Then another $25 to get back home. So yes, it does add up. Ditto with the gym. Gym memberships aren't free. Not in RL and certainly not in the samkat universe. A basic one averages about $50. If you want to pay-as-you-go, it’ll be about $5 to $10 each time. Using of the sauna and massage table is extra - for both the one-time fee and the daily one. Nor is using the pool free. And that includes the town pool. (Someone has to pay those lifeguard salaries!) About the only "free" lots in town are the library and the park. And the park charges, if the festival is in swing. Ditto, with fishing in lakes and the ocean. You need to pay for a permit. And when picking stuff in community gardens, the sim is charged an initial $5, then has to pay extra for the stuff they pick. (Those I usually take to the grocery, see how much the sim could make selling them, then charge that amount).
Since I have played this challenge several times before - well, 4 - I knew keeping Sofia poor was going to be a chore. So, again, more rules.
After she moved out of her house in Twinbrooks, she had over $200,000 in her wallet. So, I knew that had to go. (The kid was bankrupt after all!) So, I plunked down that EA "Now and Then Mansion" in a remade Barnyard Bay, moved her in, then robbed her blind, using Twallan's Master Controller. Then, I looked around the lot and started getting rid of a lot of junk. (The house was supposedly abandoned while her mother's great-great-whatever aunt's executor hunted down an heir. So looters "liberated" the more valuable items). Apart from a lot of the furniture and the more valuable artwork, I deleted the fog emitters and tombstones. Mostly because they cause lag. And I didn't want to play a lot full of annoying ghosts. I figured poor Sofia has enough to deal with, adjusting to being poor, getting a new job, learning life isn’t free, and eventually fixing up a run-down dump of a house. Later on, I'll be having her plant a garden (since I’m thinking of having her go into the science career) - once her gardening skill gets high enough to tackle cleaning up that yard.
According to the laws of the samkat universe, she must have at least a level 5 to do most repairs. Currently she has almost no skills. And the ones she does have - charisma - aren't worth diddly-squat. In order to nail some shingles on her roof - the first thing she'll be repairing on her house, since you do need a good roof to keep out the elements, and winter is coming! (So wanted to say that. GOTs fan here!) - she’s going to need at least 3 handiness points. I've help roof my own house - actually helped build it - and as long as you can use a hammer, and keep your shingles in a straight line, you're pretty much good-to-go. So 3 points will get her a roof. Ditto with pulling out the weeds (aka: brambles and small plants) in her yard. (Again, in RL, I love to garden, and pulling out weeds takes very little skill. What skill it does require, is knowing which plants to pull and which to keep. Hence the 3 points needed). Removing those dead trees will take at least a 8 in both handiness and gardening. Got to know how to use a chain saw! Plus, she'll have to have the funds to cover the cost of removal - which is whatever the silly game gives you, when you delete an item.
So, here is how I figure the cost of a job. When I delete something - like the roof - the game automatically returns those funds into my sim's account. I use that as the cost for the job. So, whatever money the game awards Sofia, using MC, I delete that amount from her household funds, upfront. Then I use what remains in her account, to replace what I deleted - in this case, the roof.
I already replaced the EA doors inside this house with ones made by Eric, over at b5Studio, from his Grant Park set. (I love that set and use it all the time). Currently, the doors are all grungy and nasty-looking from mold and whatnot. So, when her handiness and painting skills get to level 5, Sofia will be able to "refinish" the door. Not replace it. Just sand it down and paint it. But in order to do it, she'll have to have whatever the cost of the door is in the catalog, to cover the costs of refinishing. So, let's say the door cost $50 new. That's what she'll need to refinish it.
Now, when she starts replacing the windows, it'll cost more. Since replacing windows is a bit beyond the average homeowner, Sofia will "hire" professionals to do it for her. So in the library, the windows give you around $150 when you delete them. That money now becomes the cost that the crew charged for labor - taking the old window out and putting the new one in. Then Sofia will have to also come up with the cost of the actual window. A new one costs $250. So to replace each window, she will need $400. And she'll have to replace the window or door - with the same kind that was there, since this house is on the Sims' National Historic Registry. There will be no buying cheaper stuff, just to save money. And if she tries, the sim who works on said registry will sock her with a hefty fine, then make her pay to do it right.
Also, before each job, she'll have to file for a building permit (cost is dependent on the total cost of the job) before she can proceed. If she doesn't, again with the hefty fines. The only exception to this is basic gardening - pulling weeds - and refinishing doors and such. In RL you don’t have to, so I won’t charge her either. Now, if she decides later that she just has to have a greenhouse on her lot, or a garden gazebo, say, then yes, she’ll have to file for a permit.
I do plan on using more of Eric's doors for exterior doors on this house. Mostly because I love his stuff. But Sofia will be charged the higher rate that EA charged for their stuff. So, if an exterior door of Eric's costs $100, and EA's costs $200, Sofia will still have to come up with the $200.
Anyway, those are my basic charges for now. When I move her to a new town, she'll be socked with moving costs, the cost for a passport, and whatever else I can think of. Maybe, if she's in a profession, I'll make her pay a licensing fee. As a cook, I'm already charging her union dues. But with professions, you always have those yearly CEU fees. (I always had to have at least 100 points worth of continuing education, in order to keep my nursing license up-to-date, and those classes were expensive. My advanced life support one, was about $400. And that was just one class.) Plus license renewal fees and malpractice insurance. Anyway, that gives you a bit of an insight in how I torment my sims.
