Cities. So full of noise. Back in Ionia she'd been in large towns occasionally, but most of the time an Ionian town, at worst, had carts and pack animals, maybe some birds, and the low chatter of humanoid hustle and bustle. Cities were different. People shouting, machines, vehicles, construction, all things more native to perhaps a place like Piltover than anything she’d experienced.
So, she’d fled the noise and excitement of the part of the city they’d placed her in for the outskirts of the Cotes ward. She’d explored a bit of the forest, avoiding the more civilized places, and found herself now in the swamplands. Pulling herself over the edge of a low, crumbling wall, she poked through the ruins of some sort of ancient building, half-sunken in the bog. It was cool and damp here, and she took a moment to pull her long feathers around to clean off some of the muck she’d tracked along while exploring.
Tumblr media
Then—a noise. She paused, large ears flicking directly up, and then turning slowly to scan for sounds. She’d “liberated” a simple iron dagger from a shop in town, and slipped that now from under her cloak. She wasn’t nervous, but jumpy; one never knew what sort of dangers they might encounter off of the main road.

He’s seeing things. He’s sure of it. Flashes of that tail, the flick of an ear, the curl of a familiar figure floating just off the ground and disappearing each time he rounds the corner. He feels a little ridiculous every time his heart starts pounding over a brief sighting of something so improbable it’s laughable. Really. In a place with half a dozen Pokemon total, what are the chances that one of those happens to be Mew?
But he can’t quite bring himself to give up, and after a long afternoon of fidgeting and wandering the unfamiliar sector of the city, they come fully into view.
Mew’s just... there.
Todd’s camera is up in an instant, but he’s uncharacteristically hesitant to snap the photo waiting at his fingertip. This is weird. This is really, really weird.
He might kick himself for it later, but Todd slowly lowers his camera to watch Mew from the end of the narrow street. Can that really be them? Could they really be here? They’re a long way from the ethereal expanse of stars and rolling rainbow clouds of their last encounter. Again, he wonders if what he’s seeing is not as it appears.
...but he can only trust his camera and his own eyes, and he raises it again to check if there’s any barrier interference in the shot.
If that’s really Mew, it has to have noticed him by now. And if that’s really Mew, then what happens next is entirely up to them-- Todd doesn’t have any tricks up his sleeves this time.

He’s used to starting over, though having to do so without his Pokemon is rough even for the Rocket Leader. So he decided to take a break scouting nearby. He hadn’t seen a single Pokemon, even around the perimeter of the city... Something was certainly off, though he couldn’t place what. Even the smaller islands he’d been to had some Pokemon. Where was this place...?
Still, as he sat himself down on a bench to partake in his coffee and sandwich, at least that meant he wouldn’t have to deal with some pesky Pidgey stealing his food here.

Amalie is aware of just how small they are when waking up inflicts a particular vertigo they have not experienced since they were very young. That had been a funnier moment, a small child in the midst of a king sized bed, lost in a sea of sheets, adrift to what would oftentimes be good dreams. This however, is dizzying, and Amalie feels a bit more like sinking through the floor this time.
Tumblr media
The yawn is wrong, and Amalie is so surprised by the squeak that they stay still and quiet for a moment. What an interesting sound, if not unusable in this form. Perhaps there’s something around to write with- and perhaps these little hands work better than they’re hoping. The shock of it all is enough to make Amalie act a little too rationally. Emotional distress and overall numbness? That’ll kick in later, in about twenty minutes, probably.
Options dwindle the more they search, and eventually, Amalie is left with a pad of someone else’s sticky notes, and what appears to be a Sharpie Brand Marker. Better than this than nothing, better they try rather than dwell and fail. Those clutched to their person, Amalie goes next to tackle the door.
This, whatever they are, they must be able to do something to get around. After all, there’s no lower door or efforts to make reaching the knob easier. There is only inconvenience and the small blessing of powerful back legs. Okay, jump and grab. They could do this. Here goes nothing.
Thump! Amalie smacks their head on the door, but gets the knob nonetheless, the door opening and swinging them out into the hallway.
What a spectacle. Maybe someone with the capability to save them and be useful would be by.

Hilda was absolutely craving a journey of massive proportions since her arrival. While most people would be shocked to end up in spirale, she was more than eager to get her boots on and hit the road. According to some of the locals she had spoken too in the golden ward, the city of glass seemed like a great place for her to explore.
After a ferry ride that was unusually rough, but went around something called the swirling gulf? So the ferry it was. Arriving in what looked like the main area, she inhaled deeply. It smelled great out here in the fresh air, as she took a look around the shops - with no intention of buying anything on her very limited funds.
Turning away, she felt herself bump into something. but when looking around there was nothing to be seen. However Snivy perked up and clamored onto the top of her hat to get to a better vantage point.
“ what the heck is up with you ? “
Tumblr media
“ i don’t see anything .. “ whatever it was, it had Snivy looking around franticly.

Rosalina held onto the wooden fence at the edge of the boardwalk, looking out at the sand and the ocean beyond it. There was a cool breeze, the constant sound of a crowd behind and around her—occasionally distant screams, as she was relatively close to the amusement park area—and the tempting scent of funnel cakes.
It was... nice. Being here in the city in the first place was strange, there were forces at play that were beyond even her that made her doubt her own knowledge of the universe, but the princess couldn’t deny that standing here right now was peaceful.
She closed her eyes, focusing on her senses that weren’t vision, and found herself smiling. And then she found herself feeling something land on her hair, and upon opening her eyes, saw two pink paws coming down just above her eyes.
She tilted her head up to look, even though that didn’t really work because Mew was literally on her head and not simply floating above her, and laughed her naturally-reverberating laugh.
“Hello. Did you need something? I’m afraid I don’t have any star bits to feed you...”

Kay’s on a break from checking up on all her friends. Despite her best efforts, she can’t seem to get that nightmare out of her head, so she does the next best thing: get a bag of candy and find a place to hide out for a while.
Unfortunately the corner of the city she’d chosen seems to be already occupied. She has no idea what this is, but it sure is cute!
“Oh, hello.” She wipes her tears on her sleeve, trying to make it look like she hadn’t been crying. Silence for a moment, then she offers forward the bag of candy.

“Do you want one...?”

Continued from here!
All these flowers, and the creature had seemed so silent throughout all of it. Well, a bit of concentration could be admirable she supposed. And really she couldn’t lie to herself; this was the kind of thing she loved now that she looked down at all the flowers running through her hair.
“So, are you done now..?”
Tumblr media
“I mean, that was quite a lot. You are a determined little thing, aren’t you.”

While Eevee’s unintentionally out-of-sight, she spots something flying overhead. It doesn’t seem to have noticed her since it just keeps on going, so it’s a good thing she noticed it first --- it’s certainly eye-catching, and from what she can see it looks like it must be a Pokémon.
That’s enough standing still and watching, though; she’s going to lose sight of it if she keeps doing this! So she takes off after it, as fast as she can. Which isn’t very fast. Curse her short little legs. She does her best to catch up to the pink Pokémon, though, carelessly keeping her eyes on it instead of looking where she’s going.
Tumblr media
“Hey, hey!” she calls up to it, though anyone else around her will only hear her usual cries. She just wants to talk to it. “Down here!”
