Mushroom sculpture inspiration

With the mushrooms I chose I wanted them to be varied in shape and colour so that they match the variety in the mould as well.

Turkey tail - I chose this species due to its striped patterns and rippled shape as it has an interesting texture. As well as this, its a mushroom that sprouts on trees, meaning that its shape is easy to mount onto a wall or other surface, making an interesting spreading effect across the exhibition space.

Wrinked peach - I chose this species due to not only its colour and shape, but its rarity, educating people on rare mushrooms may help in their preservation. As well as this, they produce a sap, I believe this may be an interesting addition to their design which could be replicated using hot glue.

Morel - I chose this species due to their shape, its incredibly intricate and unique and I believe it'll stand out well in my finished piece.

fly agaric - A very recognisable mushroom species that I chose due to its notoriety and colour.

Oyster - Another tree-growing mushroom that has a very unique trumpet-like appearance, I chose it for those reasons as I believe It'd look great stuck on a wall hanging up the duvet.

Amethyst deceiver - Another rare mushroom chosen for its colour

Final design! We had our design meeting too, and overall this was my chosen one for creating. It's a mix between the last fly agaric and my Wrinkled peach cap sleeves, with pin tucks decorating the front and back panel. I'm torn between colours just due to some confusion, but I'll be dying the sleeves and possibly peplum red or keeping them black.
