Zicalo’s Story!
Zicalo is a prelate, like a paladin, but they are chosen at birth by their loa Rezan to serve him and the order of Rezan's light
Zicalo's family was a casteless family, who's parents dropped him and his brother off at an orphanage to have the potential of being recasted, that requires to be chosen by a loa or pass rigorous warrior training, Zicalo was picked by Rezan and immediately sent to the temple, his brother was thrown back on the street at 13 for failing both, before being picked up by his parents again and returning home, Zicalo kept in touch with his brother in secret, but his parents feared punishment for interacting with a higher caste, especially one as high to serve Rezan, so they never visited, but when the casteless had their rebellion and left the kingdom to build their own tribes, Zicalo's family went with them, far from the main capital.(edited) his intelligence, is... high when it comes to what he needs to know
Caste system, you stay in your caste, learn in your caste, a Prelate has no need to learn magic outside the light and the power of Rezan, he can read, but no point reading anything outside the scriptures of the loa, he knows how to fight, but only with what all the prelates fight Zicalo and his brother Anri were born to the casteless, the largest and poorest caste in the Zandalari troll empire. You are born into a caste, and stuck in a caste. But there is always hope for Orphans, they are given a chance to be placed into a caste, so their parents, and many others would drop their children off. Each year the child is given a chance to be claimed by a loa (their gods) or to prove themselves a powerful warrior, they have until they are 13 to be placed in a caste, or they are thrown out of the orphanage to survive. At age 5 Zicalo was claimed by the most revered Loa, Rezan, Loa of kings, god of the hunt, Keeper of gold. This was the highest caste a casteless could ever reach, serving under the royal family and their god. Immediately the child was taken away from his brother and taken to the temple of Rezan away from the city to train to be a Prelate.
in all those years, Zicalo took every chance he had to sneak out and see his brother at the orphanage without being caught, mixing of caste was forbidden. when Anri was 13, he was kicked out of the orphanage, and his parents took him back in, to make coin a simple merchants and serfs. They refused to look at Zicalo, as that would warrant punishment of the highest kind, but Anri never stopped seeing his brother. But as years pasts, and they became older teens, the tension rose between the castes the casteless rebelled against the system, each group being guided by lower loa, those who took the casteless as their people, a civil war was about to break out, and Anri met with Zicalo one last time, to tell him about the planned attack the planned escape, Zicalo wanted to come, but Anri pointed out it was too late, he Zicalo looked nothing like a common troll anymore, he was reborn under the loa's blessing, scales growing in patches on his skin, eyes that glowed with power, strength, power, and a straight back that no common troll had. they could not take him back, he was no longer one of them.
The war did break out the next week, and the casteless trolls separated into several large tribes all across the world, Zicalo's family going northwest, following a strange stag loa, showing them to a font of power, these will become the dark troll tribe. And Zicalo would never hear from them again When Zicalo became 18 (in troll standards) He was promoted to a full prelate, and was given a ritual to bless him with the gold of Zandalar's heart, Dazar'alor, named after the first king. the ritual included branding his skin with molten gold into designs to show his status as a upper caste, and with this, came a decision, who he will marry, and that was the King's 4th daughter, one who he did not love nor care for He did not want this, he felt trapped and alone, so he prayed to all the loa that he knew, Hir'eek, Kragwa, Kimbul, Sethraliss, Rezan, Bwonsamdi, Gonk, Pa'ku, Shadra Akunda. No response to save him, only Rezan, telling him to continue. He'd dare not pray to Mueh'zala yet, one heard his prayers, Jani, the loa of the discarded and forgotten He wanted to discard this marriage so be it

Complications Part 8
((TW: Murder, Violence...  Eh just go with all the things.)) Xiao actually chuckled at Aret's words, kissing him gently on the forehead. He spoke in Pandaren, but he translated through the link for Vol. "Aret, do you really think they would not be coming back to Pandaria with us? They are your family... and you are our family. They will be welcome in our home, just as Naddja and Zakin are." He hugged Aret and then offered a warm look to his mother. "Take them outside, Aret. To your apartment. Your family and your daughter need some time together. We will be back when we are done, okay?"
Aret looked up at Vol and Xiao as Vol pulled him to his feet.  "Take our daughter to your apartment.  Get some clean clothes and such for your mother and sister before you go.  Xiao and I will finish this up and meet you there.”  We'll bring something to eat.  Rest, sweetheart, and trust us."  He gave Aret a kiss, smiling as Pahre blushed, but smiled.  "He is well loved, Auntie.  I promise.  Please trust us both."
When Aret left with his mother, Tarja in his arms, Vol turned and grinned brightly around his tusks.  "this is needed...."  With that the big hunter used one of the kicks Xiao had taught him, dropping his heel right onto the man's nose, watching it explode in blood.   "Dat be fer Auntie.."
Xiao watched them leave, making sure they were out of sight before he turned around and- WOW that was a mess of blood that splattered all over. He let out a disbelieving little noise, not out of distaste, but merely surprise. "Someone was in a hurry." He said through the link to Vol. "Do you wish to do the honors since I already have paralyzed them and left them with little pride left? Jansevet is more stubborn but Aket seems quite broken, which I am rather proud of even though I likely should not be."
"Do you blame me..  and my kills were quick, clean and business like.  THIS involves our husband and our daughter.  Personal."  Vol grinned, pulling the hunting knife off of his hip.  "Oh, It's gonna be my pleasure."  Vol became silent and ultimately businesslike as he swatted a few spiders away from the screaming priest.  "Oh Shut yer face, ja gonna be dead in a minute.  Xiao Chun, dey can feel dey faces, right?"
"Not at all, they are monsters. They deserve it." He then watched as Vol pulled out the knife, shaking his head. "They are numb from the neck down. I severed each spinal cord, but they can still feel from the neck up. I am not entirely certain of the cut off, but... somewhere on the neck. Jansevet also soiled himself, so... that is what /that/ smell is."
"Ah smelt raptah shit before... Ja go open da door?"  There was a scratching sound behind the door as Vol knelt down over the priest, smiling as he grabbed an upright tusk in one hand and his forehead in the other.  His words were in Zandali, so he translated for Xiao so nothing was missed.  "This is for my Daughter." He Snapped the left tusk off at the jaw line and set it to the side as Aket Screamed in abject pain.  "This is for my Pandaren husband for making him upset"  Both Tusks were left on the man's chest as their prey screamed in horror and suffering.  He did the same to the old prelate, the same response from snapped off tusks as he spoke.  "This is for my Zandalari husband and torturing him...  And this one is for his mother and sisters, for the same thing."
Xiao nodded and moved to the door, wincing lightly at the sounds of tusks snapping, but he knew it was deserved. He opened the door, expecting to likely find Honor and Valor on the other side if he had to guess.Valor actually licked Xiao's face, finding the spot of blood before He and Honor wandered in.  Vol whistled and both sat, watching the pair of Zandalari that would be their dinner.  Vol let them both lay and scream, rolling his eyes as he found a cooking pot, and lined it with what looked like large palm leaves.  "Xiao, love, can you shut them up?  Annoying as fuck and the old one keeps cursing my balls... so.. Little sick of him."
Xiao squeaked in surprise at Valor, smiling a bit as he gave the raptors each a friendly little scritchin'. He looked over to Vol and nodded. "Of course. One moment." He went over to touch them and then kind of just... made a whimpering noise and looked to Vol. "Spiders..." He said through the link, trying not to be weak but there were still spiders crawling over each one.
"Nothing to be done about them.  She's upset with them as it is I would bet.  Don't fuck with Shadra."  He found a lid that fit the cooking vessel and put it on the side next to Aket.  He used words in Zandalari, speaking the words softly, but strong enough it was easy to know this was a prayer, ritual.  "Bwonsamdi take you, in peace.  To the Loa of graves I send you.  Death comes for all, mortal and Loa alike.  He is the equality of the world.  No matter your power, status, strength.  We all go to him in the end.  I am a hunter of death, I give you until my Loa this day."
Aket could not stop Vol as the long knife was plunged into his gut above his umbilicus, and pulled up until the blade met bone.  The hunter grunted as he pulled harder, enough to crack the bone.  There were no screams, but the room felt different and a maniacal laugh filled the air.  Vol knew the voice and spoke through the link to Xiao.  "DO NOT look up.."
"Et been a LONG time, Raptahblood..  Took someone wrongin' ya family fer ya ta send me gifts again, hmm?"
"I apologize for my lack of service, Guardian of the Dead.  I hope they make up for it."
"You send me two of Shadra's.. and no contest from her.  Ah be forgivin' ya, man."
Xiao nodded, offering Vol an apologetic glance at not being able to silence them. He just couldn't get himself to touch all of the tiny spiders. When Vol began sliding the blade into the flesh, Xiao looked up and away, off to the side toward the kitchen. What he didn't expect was the laughter. He immediately whipped his head toward the noise as if ready to defend... and then he heard Vol's words. It was too late, he was already laying eyes upon the Loa of Graves himself, going a bit wide eyed. "You... should have told me sooner..." He said through the link nervously.
"Well.. Well.  The Little monk what started this little sacrifice.  If the Raptahblood 'ere hadn't come, YOU were gonna gift me these two, I would bet."  The Loa cackled, looking down at Xiao.  "Take pride in ya work, little man."  The Troll skull-like face looked Xiao in the face, a smile in his words.  "Ya served me maaaany guests in your wars.  You won't deny it, will ya?  Raptahblood!  You finish em, and Ah'll gladly take what you and your little man gave.  Remember, the heart is best stewed..."
With that the Loa disappeared, Vol relaxing immediately as he went back to work.  "Well, he knows you."
Xiao offered a nervous smile as he mentioned his wars, nodding a little. "Many, yes... and I had every intention of giving these two to you, had Vol'raka not come for Aret's mother. You deserve to do with their souls as you will, they are too cruel for this world."
He said with a hard swallow, hoping he wasn't speaking out of line. When the Loa vanished, Xiao practically slumped, leaning against the wall with a full-body sigh. "Sweet Celestials above, Vol'raka you could have warned me he might make an ACTUAL appearance. You should feel how fast my heart is pounding right now."  He said as he tried to steady himself, his hands lightly shaking.
"Xiao, NO ONE controls Bwonsamdi.  I didn't think He'd show, so why worry you?"
The troll kept slicing his prey up, having broken Aket's ribcage at that point and looking down at the beating heart.  "Here is where we find out how queasy you get."
Precise incisions released vessel and sinew as the heart stopped beating and Mala'ket slowly lost the light in his eyes.  Vol cleaned the blade on the priest's robes as he placed the heart in the cook pot.  "He shat himself too, no leg meat, but Im not cooking a roast.  Can you find me a cup.. or something small with a lid?"
Xiao seemed mostly unphased by the heart, still recovering from the LOA OF GRAVES actually fucking showing up. He stood and leaned in to kiss Vol gently on the cheek. "I am more queasy from Bwonsomdi showing up than cutting out a heart. Death is something I try to avoid unless necessary, a Loa? That is much more startling." He said with a nervous chuckle as he began to look through the kitchen for something to match Vol's description. "They really do not smell good..." He murmured to himself mostly. "I should have made them go to the bathroom before I severed their cords."
"Those two don't care.  They'll still eat them.  And how do you think you would have.... managed that?"  Vol smiled, even as his arms were covered in blood and he'd began nonchalantly dismembering the younger male's corpse with a crunch and crack of bone and body.  "They wouldn't have listened... 'hey go squat on the pot before I kill ya'."  The Darkspear chuckled as Jansevet watched in horror as they were so blasé about what they were doing.  He could not talk for the spiders in his mouth and throat, but he was still very aware.  "did you hear my prayer, Xiao.   He is the equality of the world.  Don't fear him.  Respect him."
Xiao smiled, chuckling now. "Yeah, that... would not have exactly made sense. Still, it is unpleasant." He looked back at them. "I think he is shocked that us 'weaker' races are so capable of talking about these things so easily." He shook his head, leaning down before pointing at Vol. "He serves Bwonsamdi. More importantly? Let me simplify this. The two many your boy loves?" He paused, looking at Vol. "Bounty hunter." He then pointed at himself. "Shado-Pan and war veteran." He dropped his hand and shook his head, speaking toward Jansevet's person now. "Fool..."
"ey now, ah not a bounty huntah anymore.  Ah tend mah raptahs, ah love mah mates, an' a raise ouah baby.  Ah take farmah, Fathah an' lovah more serious, hmm?  Ah just real skilled at dis.  et fill mah belly, en more ways den one.  En dis case.  Breakfast.  Maybe dinnah ef ah gotta stew et."
Jansevet had pure fear in his eyes as he saw Vol finish up and leave Aket's mangled form alone.  He stood, picking up the pot and moving it closer to the old man.  "When I did this, for money.  I would apologize, if I was looking them in the eye.  I'm not sorry tonight.   You hurt a sweet man, made his life hell.  He was strong enough to stay alive.  As his husbands, we have an obligation, you see.  We are obligated to protect our family.  You no longer being alive will let me sleep SO much better at night now.  You should know some things.  Your oldest Grandson, Zakin, is a good, smart boy and I am glad to call him nephew.  Your daughter's supposedly dead baby.  That is the daughter I helped make.  Our Little Tarja is chosen to be a Shadowhunter for Vol'jin once he comes to his power.  She is beautiful and will grow strong of heart, spirit, body and mind.  She will be raised with unconditional love.  You will have at LEAST three more grandchildren, that you will never meet, nor will they know anything about you.  your legacy dies with you.  None will mourn.  Your wife, she will be treated as I treat an Aunt.  Your daughters I will protect until they find ones they love, I will arrange no marriage for them.  Every ministration you used to destroy them, I will work hard to undo.  You will cease to exist.. and I will destroy your memory one day at a time."
Vol smiled, an oddly calm gesture as he placed his knife between the old man's eyes.  "They are my family now.  They are our family now."
Xiao moved up behind Vol as he moved beside Jansevet, standing behind his love like a stalwart supporter, staring the Zandalari man down as his love spoke each and every word to dismantle the monster's life works. Xiao reached out for Vol's hand to stop him before he plunged the blade in, however. He spoke in Zandali, managing the sentence remarkably well for someone still learning the language. "May Bwonsomdi show your soul the same mercy you showed your family. Loa of Graves take you... and punish you forever." With that, he spat on Jansevet's face the same way he'd been spat at earlier. Then he let Vol's hand go, letting him plunge as he wished.
Vol grinned, holding Xiao's hand on his as he plunged the dagger down, letting the skull crack as the blade sunk in.  "Ja Loa gonna love workin' wit Ja, lil lovah."  He pulled the dagger out, flicked a bit of bone off of it and used the same technique on Jansevet as he did on Aket.  "You find that cup?  I want to collect some blood before we go ransacking the house.."
Xiao smiled with a little blush. "You bringing out my dominance paired with me dipping back into... well, 'War Veteran Xiao' has made me more confident in things like this." He said before nodding and reaching over for the teapot he found since it had a lid like Vol asked. "Will this work?"
“It'll work.  Looks like a pandaren spoil.  Ours now."  Some blood from both men found its way into the pot, a small bit of cloth from Aket's robes plugging the end as both hearts and two pairs of tusks made it into the covered pot.  "There. Easy to carry."  He moved away, whistled, watched the raptors dive in to two dead trolls and turned to Xiao.  "We need to ransack the house, make it look like robbery.  unless you have a better idea?"
Xiao watched the two raptors for a moment before shaking himself away from it and looking at Vol. "I was just going to suggest we burn the place down, but... it is mostly stone, so I don't know if that would work."
"Before we do that, look for valuables then.  Anything that looks like an heirloom, or something they want to keep?  The inside will burn just fine, but the walls wont burn before the shamans and mages get here."
"Will that be enough?" He then gasped. "Ooh, we could make it look like a kitchen fire. Have something in the pot go wrong but we accelerate it?" He asked curiously, trying to be helpful.
“I am marrying a clever pandaren.  Look around.. ten minutes.  Then we burn it."
With That Vol wandered out, looking for all valuables he could find.  In a box he came back with a doll, some jewelry, Gold, A Sari-type length of silk that looked pandaren in its pattern, a few knives, of gold and obsidian.  There were other little treasures in the box, the black wooden container tucked under his arm.  "Find anything?"
Xiao smiled and kissed Vol before scampering off, going around looking through the home. He came back after some time, carrying a small box, looking as though he might cry. "Vol..." He whispered. "I found a hiding spot in Aret's old room... I found a journal, a doll... drawings..." He bit his lip. "I... I am afraid to ask him if he wants them." He cleared his throat. "I also found some antiques from Pandaria, likely stolen during the invasion. A small vase, some dinner finery. We can use them as our formal dinnerware." He was trying to remain casual, but something from Aret's hidey hole seemed to have upset him.
"Let him decide.  They are his old memories.  We are the new."
Vol had built a small pyre on the cook stove, his raptors looking fat and happy now.  He had a bottle of what looked like wter, but smelled like goblin jet fuel.  "Janaret.  Take Tarja, your sister and Mother back home.  We will meet you there in a bit.  Get them settled in to a room for the night and we'll talk."
There was a whine, but Aret did as he was told, going quiet as Vol poured the liquid on the wood, soaking the material and then over what the raptors had not eaten.  "I don't have that fire breath... thing....  Care to do the honors?"
Xiao nodded, setting the small collection of items down and taking the bottle from Vol. "I always hated this part, the alcohol always tastes horrible..." He said with a shake of his head. "The bodies, the stove, or... everything?"
The Darkspear bent down, picked up the little collection, and walked to his pets and put his arm around one's neck.  "All of it.  I'll take Valor...  bring Honor with you?  Burn it down, no trace."  He blew a kiss and touched his hearthstone, letting Xiao know that they were landed and waiting on him.
"Quickly, lil love.  We have a mess here to settle everyone in."
Xiao nodded. "We will be right behind you." He said to Vol before watching him leave. He brought the bottle to his lips, took a swig, sparked the Chi in front of his lips, and spit in a wide arc of fire that exploded from his mouth. He had luckily grown quite skilled at this, managing to not singe a single piece of fur. He did this several times, the first one singeing the bodies to a crisp until they were unrecognizable. Then he did the same to the kitchen, starting from the pot and making it look like a kitchen fire gone wrong. He hurriedly backed out of the room toward the front door, taking Honor with him. He filled the back rooms one by one, hurrying out until the entire house was starting to fill with smoke.
"Come on, Honor."  He said it with a cough as he pressed his back to the front door, far away from the smoke as he could manage. He took one last swig and filled the main room, the fire getting dangerously close. He threw the bottle into the fire, making a small fireball explode upward and causing Xiao to yip. "Okay time to go!"
He triggered the hearthstone and yanked them to safety as the home filled with flames, his fur undamaged but damn was it warm to the touch as if he'd been laying in the sun for several hours.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Once Vol walked in to the house, the boxes  in his hand, he heard the screams.  They were of joy at least.  Vol wandered up, sighing as he got into the shower, scrubbing himself as clean as he could of blood, clipping his nails even to be sure nothing was left behind.  He got as presentable as he could, shaving the sides of his head and rebraiding his hair, making sure his tusks had no trace of blood or grime.  He was aiming to make a first impression.  When he sensed Xiao home and in the house, he wandered down, tying a knee length kilt low on his hips.
"Get cleaned up, My love.  Best to explain tonight before they all are settled in to bed."
Xiao came home and nodded, leaning against Vol and hugging him tight. "I will head up, this armor feels much hotter than normal..." He said as he kissed Vol's nose and wandered up, looking tired. He washed quickly, but it still took a small bit since he had to do his fur cleaning process. He came down wearing his red vest and black pants, as casually dressy as he could be.
"Why am I suddenly nervous. I brought the woman back from the brink of death and I am worried about what she will think of me now?"
"She will think how she thinks.   It is Aret who thinks the world of you.  The man who curls his arms around you in the night as you cuddle and sleep, love and wake up with kisses all over that adorable face of yours.  It is the little girl who calls you Ba, who wants cuddles and comfort, who looks at you as if you hung the stars for her and her alone.  It is me, and reminding you that, no matter what, you are the other side of my soul."
Vol smiled, kissing Xiao on the nose and taking his hand.  "Ja come den?"Xiao practically swooned at Vol's words, wrapping his arms around him and kissing him deeply. He gave a little moan, not one of lust, but just of how deeply he loved the man. "I thank the Celestials for the day I met you, Vol'raka Autumnpaw." He said the full name, grinning widely, love so clear in the way he looked at him. "I am ready..."
He leaned down again, grinning.  "Wit dat dominant streak, mebe Are and ah cane make lil mastah Xiao feel nice en da mornin', hmm?  Ah do owe mouth presents."
He left it at that as he walked to where they had made rooms for Naddja and her son.  There, Janaret was holding Tarja, letting Nielka coo over her as Naddja and her mother spoke in the corner.  There were tears in the eyes of all four, Zakin asleep in his mother's lap.  It was Naddja who smiled looking toward her mother.
"Mother, this is Vol'raka and Xiao Chun.  They are...."
"The loves of my life.  They are my husbands to be.". Aret smiled, standing and walking toward both.  He didn't care what his family thought as he licked Vol's chin and kissed Xiao's lips.  "Thank you.....  I don't know what happened, but I.... Thank you."
Xiao wiggled a bit. "You better follow through with that." He murmured happily before following them inside. He was looking at Pahre the most as they spoke, wanting to make sure she was okay. However, when Aret spoke of them, he smiled and leaned into the kiss, wrapping his arms around him to hug him gently as he returned it; albeit chastely as his mother was right there.
"I would do anything for you and your family... Vol too. You needed to be safe, to be able to sleep at night. So did your mother and sisters."
"I think, Little Master, that we will be ok now.".
Aret blushed, hugging Xiao tightly before introductions.  "This is my mother, Pahre, my sister, Nielka. They have met our daughter.". He added through the link.  "She knows Naddja birthed her, and both accept not calling her Tarja's mother."
Pahre stood, clothed in whatever Naddja had that fit, walking over to Xiao first and looking down on him.  She let her magic fall, showing so many old scars that even Vol was agape.  "You, stopped.  No more hurts.  Jansevet, Mala'ket.  Dead?   Yes.  Good.  Grandbabies safe.". Her orcish was just as bad as Xiao's Zandali.
Xiao nodded at Aret, so happy to hold him. When Pahre walked over and her magic dropped, his eyes actually glistened slightly with sadness as if he were fighting tears. He nodded. "Yes, dead." He said in Zandali before hugging slowly extending his arms as to not frighten her with sudden movement, and then went to hug her. That would also mean she'd have a whole mess of INCREDIBLY soft Xiao fur wrapped around her, it'd likely feel like heaven on her skin compared to what she's been living with. "I am sorry for pain. You no deserve it. They no deserve life. I am happy I got rid of. You safe now. Stay here if want?" He said with a smile, looking up at her, assuming she hadn't panicked and pulled away from the hug.
"Your Zandali is getting better, Lover."
Vol wandered forward and kissed Aret softly, giving the same look to both of his mates as he pulled him into an embrace, back to chest.  The look was one of love, softness, and acceptance.  "Auntie, You are welcome to stay here long as you like and need.  No strings.  You are mother to our mate, and grandmother to our daughter.  After that hell and those two Quashi Yudo, you deserve rest."
Pahre tensed up, so used to pain, she was not used to endearment nor affection.  She quickly recovered and hugged Xiao back.  She looked at him, then the two large trolls.  "You love my son, no pain, anger or yelling?  No hitting, or..  abuse?"
Vol nodded, looking at Xiao then down at Aret.  "No unwanted pain.  Respect and love.  He is a loving father, a beloved mate and a good man.  No matter what that shit bag tried to do, he is sweet, caring, and loving.  As he said, you and your daughters are welcome here.  We have extra rooms, but will need to get you clothing.  We grabbed some things in your old house, we will sort them after breakfast.  Aret..."
He pulled away, a hand on his sweetheart's cheek.  "Settle them in for the night, show them the kitchen if they need something to eat before breakfast, then come to bed.  We will need to talk a little and sleep.  I have to be up in a few hours and I am a bit tired."
Xiao smiled over at Vol, looking so proud as his Zandali was complimented. "I have been studying." He knew that one, as if he was hoping he'd be asked about it. He then looked back to Pahre and shook his head. "Never anger or yelling. He is Ba'la, Wassa'dim... Lok'dim, someday. We only try to..." He paused, thinking hard for a moment before finally finding the word. "Strive to make him happy." He said with a resolute nod before looking to the Vol. "Right, we need to talk to Aret about... that thing."
He said in Orcish now, looking at Aret with a hint of concern, though trying to hide it.
Aret was confused for a moment but nodded, licking Vol's chin and clicking tusks as they kissed.   The Prelate kissed Xiao softly as well, caste and loving.  "Mother, Nini.  Come we'll get some blankets and settle you in."

This last weekend at Blizzcon, The Lost Codex lore channel (who are the entire reason I made it to Blizzcon!) had an opportunity to interview Creative Director Alex Afrasiabi and Technical Director Patrick Dawson. If you want a quick summary of the never-before-seen lore they discuss during the video, click the read more below, otherwise sit back and enjoy the interview yourself!
Despite rumors that the sethrak were once trolls transformed into snake-like forms by the loa Sethraliss, this is not the case. Over 16,000 years ago, sometime before the battle between the trolls and the aqir, the sethrak and trolls lived in harmony together.
The impressive battle between Sethraliss and Mythrax, one of Kith’ix’s generals in the Aqir and Troll war, gradually changed Vol’dun into a desolate desert over many years. Although the sethrak thrived in such an environment, the trolls could not tolerate it and began leaving en masse. It was at this point that the troll empire started exiling their criminals to Vol’dun.
The loa who died on Zandalar, including Shadra, may not permanently be dead.
With Rezan dead and the Zandalari Prelates stripped of their power, we’re not sure why it is that the Zandalari can be paladins. Although Alex Afrasiabi did not answer, just by extracting from new Hearthstone information during Blizzcon, it’s possible that Shirvallah is a logical candidate for why the Zandalari can be paladins. For those who missed it, Shirvallah the tiger loa represents the paladin class in the new Hearthstone expansion. It’s important to note, however, that Hearthstone is a fantasy that exists within the Warcraft universe and is by no means a reliable source of canon lore.
The Drust have a definite relation to Vrykul. They were probably a group of seafaring Vrykul that, following the Sundering, happened upon what is now Kul Tiras and settled it.
We have actually encountered Thros before Battle for Azeroth. It’s heavily implied that Thros is a part of the Emerald Nightmare, but the realm also has a connection to death that cannot rule out a link to the Shadowlands.
There are many different realms in the existing universe, but it’s entirely possible that what we consider two different realms are actually one and the same. That’s because most of the realms we enter or hear about are introduced to the players by different cultures, leading to assumptions that all of these dimensions exist separately when in reality, there may be some overlap.
“By golly, the Kul Tirans should be mages as well!” Given that Jaina Proudmoore, a Kul Tiran, is a mage, there’s not necessarily any lore reason that Kul Tirans are not able to be mages.

While we're being miserable, I'd like to point out that we're only just now going to Zandalar and the Troll Curse is in full effect. Several loa are dead or absorbed by way of evil trolls. The prelates lose their patron loa, Hir'eek is corrupted and you have to kill him. Shadra gets absorbed. The shark-loa is presently only a spirit without a body. I'm expecting yet more "many trolls die for the drama and plot to show the gravity of the situation." type scenarios.
i’ve not mentioned this, but my “night elves are cursed and Blizz likes to kill them” theory-but-it’s-not-a-theory-it’s-true has a direct correlation to trolls of any sort as well - since you know, trolls and night elves are related. my first toon, and main Horde toon, is a troll, and Darkspear have been getting their shit kicked in for a while now, and their important characters like Vol’jin given momentary spotlight before being brushed aside and then killed off unceremoniously. all other troll civilizations are in ruins and they’re raid fodder (hence the “another troll raid” meme). zandalar looks awesome, but i’m not even surprised it’s going to be another “trolls get their shit kicked in” scenario were all their deities and loa are absorbed or killed and etc etc. at least FOR ONCE they’re not going to be objectively evil or villains like they always are, which is the key difference between trolls and night elves - trolls get kicked around a lot, but Blizzard paints them as baddies so no one ever comments, whereas night elves get kicked around a lot, but Blizzard hates night elves for no reason so no one ever comments.

Complications Part 9
Vol led Xiao back to their bedroom, past the pile from the burned house.  The big troll flopped on the bed, looking up at the stars in the enchanted canopy.    "I hope you are ready for this.  Where is his oil?"
Before the par went to their room, Xiao kissed Aret back, hoping to reassure him as he whispered in Pandaren. "You did nothing wrong, we just need to talk." He said as he gave him a little hug before heading off with Vol, but not before smiling at the women and speaking briefly in Zandali. "Sleep well, see in morning."
Once he was back in the bedroom, he was already going through Aret's drawer as Vol mentioned the oil. "Believe me, it was the first thing I was going for. That stuff from Tal has been life changing for him. As much as I try, I never feel like I can do enough for him during his attacks. I am glad this helps." He pulled out the bottle and set it on the small nightstand beside the bed before laying down next to Vol.
What started as 'next to Vol' soon ended with him laying directly on top of the Darkspear with his head curled up under his neck as he nearly purred in happiness just being skin to furred chest; having taken his vest off.
"Someone else needs soothing comfort as well, it seems.  You torture two men then want snuggles an hour later and are as happy as anything.". Long arms wrapped around Xiao's body, holding him close.  "My Xiao, my love, my perfect little red furred love.  My heart my soul, part of me in heart and mind.".
He sung the words in his head, smiling as he looked up to see Aret.come in the room.  "Take a few drops of oil and come lay down a bit.  We need you tonight, as we do every night.  Today we are in need of comfort too.". Vol felt better, safer now that the two were gone, his loa appeased and no one coming after them.  His mates, their daughter, even the ones he protected were safer.  He didn't look forward to the talk they needed, but it needed to be done.
Xiao gently nudged Vol's chin with the his forehead. "Now, I did not torture anyone. I merely incapacitated and debilitated. The torturing was mainly Shadra's doing. I never thought I would be working on the same side as a spider loa." He shuddered just thinking about it, burying his face in Vol's neck more to hide from the world. "I will end up taking an extended meditation when I wake up and work through my emotions then. No guild or grief, simply... coming to terms with taking a life, even if not directly. It is part of maintaining my balance and tranquility." He didn't look up from Vol's neck as Aret came in, but he did extend an arm out toward him, as if asking the prelate to come lay beside, against, or perhaps even on top of him; simply wanting the man's touch against his person.
Aret took a few drops of his oil and let it work, silent for a bit, Vol giving him ten minutes before speaking, letting the prelate relax.  "I killed your father and your sister's so called mate.  I ripped their hearts out, fed them to my raptors and will eat their hearts.  Your mother nearly died and we could not abide by the pain.  Xiao incapacitated them but I did the deed.  Forgive me?"
Xiao cleared his throat, speaking through the link. "I... do not want to make things worse, but Vol'raka I think she actually had passed. I had to pull her spirit back, even if only a little. It may have only been minutes, but... that man finally made it too much for her. It seemed we acted at just the right time to save your mother, Aret. I am so sorry it got this far, but... I promise you, no one will ever hurt you-... /OUR/ family again. You are our family, so your family is our family too." He cuddled into Vol lightly, looking up at Aret, still trying to get him to cuddle down with him.
Aret was silent, nuzzling fur and skin soon enough as he tucked under Vol's arm and put an arm around his Pandaren.  It was Vol who noticed the tears.  He kissed Aret's head whispering to him so he was barely heard.  "We promised to care for you.  Protect and love.  This needed to be done.  I will accept you being angry and upset..."  He was shocked when he felt the younger troll kiss Xiao hard, then give him the same treatment with happy eyes and a smile.  "He won't hurt us any more?  He is dead and gone...?"
"Xiao cursed him and sent him to Bwonsamdi.  Xiao saw Bwonsamdi."
Xiao happily snuggled into Aret as he came closer, but he squeaked in surprise when he was kissed. He turned to face Aret completely, arms wrapping around him as he kissed him back with a happy little noise of love. He couldn't help but to smile when he saw Aret's happiness, so relieved his mate wasn't upset. He was about to answer Aret's query when Vol mentioned Bwonsamdi, the mention of the Loa making Xiao let out a small scoffing chuckle of disbelief.
"Yes, our dear love did not warn me that when he uttered a prayer to Bwonsamdi and offered them up that the ACTUAL Loa of Graves would show up. He... said he knew me. Apparently he..." He paused to clear his throat. "He liked my work in the wars. There is a reason I have such a fortune."
He said with a small guilty smile. He nuzzled Aret's forehead now. "They are gone... I can tell you, if you want? Vol did the final act, but I... set things up, if you will."
"I do not wish to know.   I don't want to think on it.  I want to...  Heal.  Heal my head.  I want their hold to be gone.".
"We will respect that then.  However.  Xiao tell him what you found.  We had to ransack the place and take valuables... Look like a robbery.". Vol nodded to the pile in the corner.  "Took what we could carry."
Xiao nodded in understanding, biting his lip as the things were mentioned. "Aret, I... I found..." He paused, moving to crawl off of Vol and into Aret's lap, peering up at. "I found... your hiding spot. I found your doll, your drawings... your little diary..." He hugged Aret tighter, kissing his chest, trying not to cry as he thought about it.
Aret, for once pulled away, sitting up and turning a darker shade of purple.  Vol raised an eyebrow confused as he sat up and looked to his Pandaren and Janaret moving to the left side of the bed where he slept when they cuddled up at night.
Xiao whimpered lightly when Aret pulled away. "Do you... want them? Should I get rid of them?" He looked at Vol. "Should I... tell Vol or show him? Or... none? You decide, Aret, I just... I saw them and I did not want them to burn without at least... asking."
Aret, a big, burly and strong paladin, guardian in his own right, curled up, the tears from happiness to fear and old rage.  Aret never showed his rage, but he balled up his fists as he tucked his legs against his chest.
"Tell him."
His voice went cold, he was having and the smell of fear radiated from him.
Xiao bit his lip harder, looking almost ashamed. "The journal, it... it was from when he was young. It has memories like... when he first started to feel for boys... and how his sister made him happy and safe." He swallowed hard, his voice wavering a bit. "Then... there were days with tear stains..." He paused, clearing his throat to keep his voice from cracking. "Blood stains... writing after Jansevet had finished with him. It has... horrible memories, but it also has... his memories of first love, his sister... the musings of a young, hopeful Janaret who remained optimistic despite the monster who tried to grind him into nothing."
Xiao looked to Aret, a single tear falling down his face. "I am sorry, Aret, if I should not have brought. Maybe I should have left it to be burned with him... I just... I thought you might want those good memories, or at least the opportunity to decide." He looked ashamed, guilty, feeling horrible for hurting Aret by bringing the old wound back to the surface.
Aret turned his head away, yelping when Vol forcibly put the crying male in his lap, holding him like a crying child.  He was silent as he let his love cry himself out.  "Good comes from bad, sweetheart.  Do you want to keep it, of will it keep us warm tonight?"
Aret hid his face away, not wanting to move nor respond.  Vol looked toward Xiao, not sure how to respond, Aret not ready to face it.  *"The safe in my office.  Put it in there.  No one need know of it not see it.  When Aret is ready, he will know where to look.".
Aret whispered softly, the scared little boy that was so hurt coming to he surface.  "Can I... Have the doll?  My uncle gave it to me."
Xiao nodded, silently rising to his feet and leaving the room, hiding the tears that stained his face now. He reached out through Vol to the link. "He is going to hate me... I am such a fool, I should have left it to burn... I don't know why I thought he would want this... Vol what am I going to do? I hurt him so much..." The despair was clear in Xiao's voice, he felt responsible for Aret's tears and pain. He remained in the office after putting the book away in the safe, just waiting in there as he tried to compose himself.
"Xiao, he told me some of the things that happened that I would bet he never wrote down.  He will address them, when he is ready.  You did not hurt him on purpose. You put something on the table, he can ignore it until he's ready.  Don't push on him right now.  Hold h, love him, let him know he is safe and NO ONE will hurt like that again”.  Vol waited, rocking his Aret softly as the most submissive of the three called out over the link, wanting snuggles and Xiao.  "He needs you.  Come."
Xiao almost felt too ashamed to go back, but the moment Aret called out to him he practically ran. He entered the room sheepishly and knelt on the bed near the edge, looking uncertain of how to approach, perhaps letting Aret approach instead. "I.. am sorry."  He murmured again as he waited.
“I don't want to remember". He was not shutdown, but he hurt and wanted not to.  "I want my family, to be held, to be loved.  I want...  No more. I want to know how to be happy.  I don't know how.".
Vol'raka held his sweetheart tighter, a hand out to Xiao's.  "Come.  I think you will make a good teddy bear.". The hunter grinned, no longer rocking Aret.  "We will keep you happy and safe..".  To Xiao he apologized.  "Sorry about the teddy bear thing, love."
Xiao tentatively came closer, sitting beside Aret and Vol before finally gently leaning over to rest his shoulder against Aret's. He initiated the contact ,but he'd let the prelate determine how much he wanted. He did look to Vol for a moment, speaking back through his mind. "For you two, it is allowed. I will be both of your little teddy bears... so long as you don't forget I am also your Sex Loa."
He paused, his tone still subdued even in his mind. "Though I hardly have the confidence of it right now. I am more the Sha of Sadness right now."
"It is ok.  I have sat where he is, before I met you.  It took a lot of work to be happy again.". He smiled as Aret picked up Xiao and cried into his neck fur.  "Love you, sweetheart.  Heal as you need to.".
"Xiao...  He wanted to die.  That thing hurt him in ways that...  We won't talk about.  He tried hard to destroy out Aret.  He withstood as much as he could.  Now he doesn't have to fight back to accept himself, to be happy, protect himself.  We might see a more relaxed Aret soon enough."
Xiao let out a relieved sigh as Aret clung to him, immediately wrapping his arms around him in return. "Please forgive me for hurting you, Aret... I love you. you are safe now..." He said weakly through the link, letting Vol hear as he just cradled the Zandalari. He spoke directly to Vol through the link soon. "I should have left it to burn, shouldn't I?"
"I don't know.". Vol looked down at his love's, crying for Aret, chin on his braid.  "Don't bring it up into he's ready”
Aret whined, but that whine that was sleepy, and emotionally exhausted.  Vol checked and the Prelate had fallen asleep in his inability to handle the situation.  "Sleep is better than crying.  Let him rest.". Leaning back against the headboard, Vol's eyes closed.  "They are dead, but have to undo the damage.  May take a long time.  Your patience is going to be needed, my love.”
Xiao just curled into the sleeping Aret, his face hiding against the muscled chest. "I feel like a failure as a mate..." He tried to contain his sadness, but he really felt as if he had failed Aret and the despair was palpable through the link.
"Don't.   You are mortal.  We will all three hurt each other.  Not by choice.  It happens.  And don't believe you are the cause.  He will still love you in the morning.  Take him for a ride, read with him, go fishing.  Spent time with him, that is not in bed.  Help and listen, let him guide his own healing.   Kit taught me that after I tried to die.  Let him lead you"
Xiao nodded meekly and curled around Aret, seeming to get ready for sleep curled protectively around the prelate. "... Sandwich me?"   He asked through the link nervously, any ounce of dominance from earlier having completely dispersed.
"I will".
Vol held both his love's tight, no smiles, just tears.  "We will make it, ok, Xiao Chun?"
Xiao squirmed between them, slowly falling to sleep between his two loves. "We will... I love you... both.", and with that, he fell asleep.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Naddja slept with Zakin on one side, her sister on the other.  It made for a peaceful night, sleeping as they did when they were children.  Zakin was too riled up and only fell asleep when he was tucked in next to his mother and newly found young aunt.
It had been a long time since Nielka had not had a nightmare.  She felt safe for once, not afraid someone would come into her room and beat her.. or worse.  She smiled as she fell asleep, in a plain cloth skirt and sleeveless shirt, remembering that Naddja snored and her frost troll son followed the same
.*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Pahre could not sleep, She sat in the room her daughters insisted she have on her own until things settled down a bit.  She stood, looking out of the window, contemplating life.  Her son, loved by Troll and Pandaren, male nonetheless.  It did not bother her. It had bothered her husband.  She didn't have to pretend to follow his guidance and hide her kindness from the world.  That made her give a weak smile.  Her children were all in once place, safe, happy and for probably the first time in their lives, able to sleep without fear of the night.
"Torcali, mother of Zandalar, this Darkspear and Pandaren...  They liberated us, killed evil in this world.  They served Bwonsamdi this night, to save the one they love and those that he cared for, though they never met them.  Help me to repay this debt.  I do so gladly.  Guide me in being a good Mother from this time on, to all those in this new family that need our care.  I have new sons, grandchildren.  Guide me to guide them."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Tarja was fussy, and Vol could not sleep.  He wandered to the Kitchen, preparing a bottle and sitting in a rocking chair near to the window.  He smiled, even as tired as he was, looking down at the girl in his arms.
"You, Little Shadowhunter, have more family, more who will love you.  I hope so at least.  I think I need to get that mage to hurry up on finishing the other house.  We will soon enough need more room.  A LOT more room if you are going to have brothers and sisters.  We'll talk to Ba and Zazi in the morning.."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Aret only held his pandaren love in his arms.  He didn't move most of the night, other than to hold his mate tight.  The pillowcases were stained with tears, but he, like his sisters, slept with no nightmares that night.

Complications Part 3
Xiao pondered for a moment as he cooked, speaking through the link. "My mother's home, down in the valley. It's the one I don't go to, since it's where she died. It is... just on the edge of Garrosh's corruption in the Vale. There should be a small map in my night table drawer that has it circled along with the rest of our homes. Very few people know about it." He finished cooking and began to set up the dishes for people to eat. "Trust us, Aret. Just keep Naddja and the children busy."
Vol nodded, wandering nude into the shower, the Zandalari still confused.  "What.. I mean..  Why would I have to stay..  where are you going?  We didn't plan on going to go to Hillsbrad for another month."
Vol shook his hair out, letting the sweat and dust wash out as Aret watched him get clean.  He picked up the bottle that had no scent, he was hunting, he wanted to get rid of every smell he could.  "Naddja told us what that Mala'ket was going to do to Tarja.  We're going to make an offering to the Loa tonight."
Aret scowled, his voice going uncharacteristically off.  "What Loa."
"Bwonsamdi."
Xiao set out dinner for Naddja and smiled, making sure they were all taken care of before excusing himself. He went straight for the bathroom and wrapped his arms around Aret from behind, hugging him gently as he nuzzled against his back. "You know it needs to be done, Aret... and how much it means for me to say that. You know, or... at least I hope you know by now that I am a pacifist. I have seen enough death and war, but... this is a necessity, this is a service to all of humanity. Monsters like that don't deserve to live. We can only consider it a slight mercy of the Celestials that he was born infertile, but even still his presence is... too much."
"I don't understand..  Why.. Aket was going to..."  Aret sat down against the wall, arms around his legs.  "You're going to kill him?  What if he hurts you, or you don't come back and he comes for us?"  His mind raced and he began having one of his attacks.  Vol's head whipped around, hearing the whining that was coming from the paladin.
The Darkspear moved out of the shower, not caring if the water from his flopped over hair  was pooling on the floor.  "Ey.. ey...  Et ok.  We gonna be fine.  Not da first time dat Xiao an ah done sumpin' a lil unsavory.  We gonna be ok."  Vol looked over at Xiao as he tried to get Aret to breathe and stop rocking, in the throes of losing it.
Xiao moved with Aret, rotating to climb into the prelate's lap and face him, kneeling gently on Aret's knees as he pressed his face against Aret's. "We will come back, Aret. I have been through war... multiple times. As much as it pains me, this is not foreign. This is... what I have been trained for since I was six. I am a Shado-Pan warrior, some abusive Zandalari will have no idea what to do against a warrior of my stature. It is hard, but it is necessary. Okay?"*
Aret stared forward, still rocking as Vol sat on his bare ass next to the pair and put a hand on Aret's shoulder.  "Et be ok.  Ja know sometin' we not bout dese fucks?  Why ja be so worried bout dis?  Ja know sumpin, et gonna help."
Aret looked up at Vol then Xiao, addressing the pandaren as his eyes had a thousand yard stare.  "He serves Shadra.  Spiders...  Spiders serve him, Aket."
Vol spat out a word, looking at Xiao as he kissed Aret's cheek.  "Xiao ah hope ja fast tonight, real fuckin fast."  Vol's forehead rested against Janaret's ear as he whispered softly.  "Spiders can see and they can warn."
Xiao shuddered, frowning. "Spiders?" He murmured quietly, sighing hard. "I can be quick as lightning, you have seen it before. Also I doubt spiders will be looking at roofs, vines, things like that. The ground is for amateurs when it comes to stealth."
"Eladra no Shadra.  Spidah Loa.  Spidahs look at every loa damn ting dere be.  Dey see all.  Ja Ah got raptahs what need ta be on da ground."  Vol pulled Aret to him, dragging Xiao to be in his lap as well.  "Da silk dancah been said ta lay 'er silk across eyes ta give visions.  She a dead loa, but 'er children still got gifts from er."
Xiao snuggled against them both, his gaze uncertain. "I know very little about all of that. What do you suggest?"
"Ah not serve Shadra.  Screw dat.  We move fastah den dey can get ta em, ef dey have spidahs watchin' da place."
Aret looked up at Xiao and kissed him hard, crying and shaking.  "Please don't go!"  the younger troll was nearly losing his mind and gripping the pandaren in full panic.  "He hurts people!  Tortures...  Please  Don't  I can't..  I don't want you to die!"  That lavender face buried against Xiao's neck, the paladin howling in sorrow as if his lovers had died.
"Aret, sweetheart..."  Vol wrapped his hands around Xiao and Janaret both, trying to sooth the prelate, who was beyond freaking out.  "I killed many before I met Xiao.   I got into some shit.  Xiao has fought your people, and others.  He trained for over twenty years.  You have to trust that we will come home." He pulled Aret's face to look him in the eye. "Xiao...  are you going to ask him or me?"
Xiao kissed him back, holding him and just pouring love into the kiss as he refused to break it. He spoke through the link as he let his heat, passion, love, tenderness, all of his sentimentality for Aret fill the kiss as their minds spoke. "Aret, I have been trained to do things he could never imagine. He will not even know I am there until he breathes his last breath. He will not keep us from you, nothing will." He finally broke the kiss and looked Aret in the eyes before speaking audibly. "When Vol and I get married, Aret? We want you to be married with us. You are our love too. You are our third... In love and in marriage, if you will have us?"
The prelate held the pandaren close, insanely tight, Vol surprised that Xiao didn't squeak with the force of it.  Aret's head just nodded as he kissed Xiao again, hand and dragging their faces against each other in near desperation.  Vol kissed Aret's neck, smiling.  "Ah tink dat a yes?"
A knock came from the bedroom door, not the one to the bathroom, Naddja's voice barely heard.  "Um.. Tarja is crying and dinner is getting cold?  Are you three ok?"
Vol shook his head and looked to the door, calling out in Zandali.  "We'll be down in a little bit.  I need to get dressed."  Vol didn't interrupt Aret clinging to his brand-new fiancé as he kissed the top of both heads.  " I Love you both, but we have a probably hungry baby and dinner before we can get this shit done with.  You will be able to hear us Aret, It will be ok, but It must be done."
Xiao grinned and kissed Aret back, just enjoying his touch and trailing his little claws through the man's mane as he wrapped his arms and legs around him. "I love you too, both of you."
Janaret was a few tones darker than his lavender skin, face a bit redder and while not hard, he was holding Xiao hard to his body, calming, with a bright smile.  "Xiao, you really mean.. to be Lok'dim..  to me?"
He just grinned at him hard and nodded. "Yes, Janaret, you are going to be mine and Vol'raka's Lok'dim... and we will be yours." He kissed him again, deep and so full of love. "You came into our lives so unexpectedly, but you... You snuck into my heart just as fast as Vol did. You two complete me and I love you both more than the entire world. I would do anything for the both of you." He kissed him yet again, a quiet little noise of happiness escaping him as he did. Finally he pulled back and climbed out of his lap, extending a hand to the Zandalari on the floor. "Come on, dinner."
"Et sound like Ja fall en love, fast, hard an fer keeps, hmm?"  Aret nodded and smiled, pulling a 'Vol' and picking Xiao up.  He had recovered enough from the panic attack and grinned, putting Xiao on his shoulder.  "He pickin up mah bad habits too."
Aret took off out of the room, calling for Naddja with Xiao on his shoulder, calling out in Zandali.  Vol was laughing as he translated, breaking the dark mood of their soon-completed task.  "He is happy that he is gettin' married."
Naddja Squeaked, rather Xiao-like as the pair came from upstairs.  "wha?!"
Xiao squealed as he was hefted into Aret's shoulder, clinging to him as he was ran downstairs. He giggled and bent down to wrap his arms around Aret's neck as he kissed the side of his head and his cheek again and again. "He is going to become Lok'dim to us when Vol and I were going to be married. What was going to be two becoming one.... Will now be three becoming one." He said oh so happily.
Aret just grinned, picking up Xiao and holding him tight to his body.  The Prelate rained kisses on Xiao's lips, arms holding the smaller male up as he spun around.   The only thing that broke his movements was Tarja's very insistent "Zazi!Hungry!wantBa!" That came from her side of the link.  She could see her Zazi, and smell her Ba, so she wanted those two, her papa a distant thought in a two month old mind.
"Ah see how et be daughtah.  Forget Ja papa.  Ah get bedtime story time before we go tonight, hmm?"
Naddja sat, holding Zakin in her lap as they ate, looking up at the larger male.  "Going out?".
Janaret had put Xiao down to tend to a whiny baby, not saying what he knew.  He was too elated, he'd leave it to those dominant to him.
"Ja. We be back by mornin'."

Complications Part 5
((TW: Suicide, etc))
The Apartment was opulent to say the least.  Traditional Zandalari design, trimmed with gold and the reds, greens and blues of the Zanchuli were all over the large space, several bedrooms to the side and a large kitchen on the other side.  In the middle were chairs and a low table, full formality in this home.  The space was kept pristine, servants dismissed for the night.
However, it was loud, a young girl covering her ears, light blue eyes closed as she tried to block out the screaming.  Her hair was pale white and her face resembled a certain beloved prelate, except the scene looked more like when he had one of his panic or anxiety attacks.  Her face was scrunched up and her body rocked back and forth as she tried to keep the image of her mother, trying to protect her youngest daughter, was smacked across the face.
"I do not know where Naddja or Janaret are!  I have not heard from either of them in weeks!"
Mala'ket stood, tall, proud and grim-faced as he watched Jansevet beat his own wife.  If Vol'raka were Zandalari, this would be how he looked, without the stoic and sour face and much shorter hair.  The Zanchuli acolyte had heard things about the son and daughter on the Elder Prelate of Rezan, a servant of the Old Farraki General.  He did not find much information on the whereabouts of his wife, but he'd gotten information out of one that was stalking him.
"Then who is this pandaren and lesser troll that has been seen around Janaret's apartments.  'Strange' sounds have been heard.  They say he is... mating with pandaren and Darkspear of all things.  Both males."  He'd found the goblin that was supposed to find out about him and goblin loyalties were shit.  A little gold and the goblin spilled the beans easily.  "In fact you KNOW he's fucking both.  Don't you, Pahre?"
The woman shook her head as her husband hit her again, screaming.  The elder prelate was red-faced. almost crimson due to his pale skin and hair.  His white braids swung around as he hit her again, causing the older woman to scream and her nose to explode with blood, splattering the wall with the force.  "Your coddling raised a fruit!  He will be married.  He'll get it up for who I tell him to and like it.  No son of mine will be with a Darkspear, let alone a bear or a male!"
Aket moved to sit in a chair, calm and as if there was not two crying females, one bleeding from the lip and nose, on his floor.  “I know the name of one of them, the Darkspear.  Vol’raka.   The goblin gave him up easily.  He didn’t know the name of the pandaren.  I will have to find out more.”
"Pandaren are weak, pitiful creatures.  We killed many in that hole they call a homeland.  I am sure there will be no issues with that one.  We will do what is needed to bring the boy back in line."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"See not take me long."  The two raptor followed their Master, who quietly shifted to 'ignoring' the pandaren as he left the Seal.  "I'll head there and wander near.  Be careful in that house.  I have no idea what is in there.."
Xiao merely nodded as he stepped through the portal. He may draw some looks, a fully decked out Pandaren in stealth gear, but he made sure to drop off the radar quickly. He hopped into the air and summoned his Chi cloud to fly off to the South East, pausing at a large spire on the pyramid and using it as cover to double back around to throw off any trails. Silently he floated under the dark cover of night, looking essentially like a cloud from below, since he quite literally was riding on a cloud. Talk about next level camouflage. Finally he reached the designated area and landed a ways away, taking to the ground now and sneaking by foot. He'd stop once he came in sight of the home, scaling a nearby tree and lingering on one of the branches, masked by foliage. "I think this is the place." He said before letting Vol see through his eyes to see if it was indeed the right residence.
Vol had decided to embrace his jungle troll lineage, perched in a tree to watch, with Valor and Honor snoozing.  He looked just as if a Darkspear hunter, lazing about the city of his very far ancestors.  "Spider on the door? then probably.  Old fuck and asshole both serve the Silkdancer, even if she is dead."

Nielka was helping her mother to clean her face, ducking out into the kitchen with her to heal her as best they could.  The girl did not know how to get out of her life as it was.  She could not handle this anymore.  She knew soon she would be expected to marry, a man too like her sister's mate.  Her tears were gone, there was no point in them.  She wiped her mother's face with a towel, free of tears and blood.  "Muuka, one day it will be ok.  We will be free.. one day..."
"My child..  I have no more hope."  The woman was still young, in her bare forties,  but she was aged thirty years from the hell that was her life.  In that moment, she eyed the kitchen knives not far from them.

Xiao did indeed see the spider from his vantage point, frowning a bit. "I do not have much- okay, ANY experience with spider Loa. I know how to avoid normal detection, do you have any tips for this?"
Vol let his eyes flick over, eyeing the spider.  It was inlaid, but the shine of silk caught his attention.  "avoid the silk. They feel the vibrations.  If you see a spider, move fast and kill the little fucker."
"Oh, it is as simple as killing them? That I can manage." He said with a small smile as he began to slink closer from tree to tree. Vol would likely be quite proud of him, acting like a Troll himself with his tree lingering. Finally he stopped right above the house, finding a tree that hung just over the roof. He glanced around carefully, checking for any spiders other than the one at the door.
"Better to kill it than let them see you repeatedly, hmm?"
Not one spider was seen, but the webs that were woven were massive and intricate.  A large black and blue spider, about the size of Vol's palm, came at the pandaren.  It was on the attack, making a strange hissing sound as it launched itself at the pandaren.  A few others worked their way toward him, sliding down the spindly strands.

"Are we expecting someone?"
Jansevet spoke, listening to the children of his Loa as one crawled in and settled in on his ear.  The old male scowled, listening closely, but not hearing anything but the rush of the attacking spiders.  "Whatever it is wont last..."

Xiao's eyes widened to the size of saucers, barely keeping from shrieking. "YOU DID NOT MENTION THE SPIDERS WOULD BE THE SIZE OF A SMALL CANINE!" His words came likely not through just Vol's, but Aret's link as Xiao panicked before steadying himself. After all, they were fucking LAUNCHING themselves at him. He leapt off the tree and summoned his cloud beneath him, just barely avoiding the bite of the spider as he rose into the sky out of their reach. Immediately a flash of red Chi surrounded him before a rather large bolt of Chi lightning struck dead center on the first spider's head and fried its brain from the inside out. He turned his attention the next one and then bit his lip. He couldn't kill them all one by one, it'd take too long. He began to spin around mid-air, almost as if he were doing a spinning crane kick, but instead his body began to charge with the chi lightning. After a single moment of chargeup, it shot out of him like a pulse, lightning sparking out to each creature nearby and frying them into obscurity. Unfortunately a few innocent critters probably got fried in the process, maybe a bird in the tree, but Xiao couldn't afford to spare them when it would risk his own cover.
"I've seen bigger, You've played with larger baby raptors."
"IS EVERYTHING ALRIGHT... Xiao Chun?"  Aret was holding a fussy Tarja, the girl sleeping, but not fully asleep.  She was quietly reaching out to her fathers, sensing them far away and was grumbly about it.
"Its fine, just Shadra's children messing with our love."  Vol actually cringed as he saw the spider die, glad he was not anywhere near Xiao when he was blowing spiders up.  Even from there he could imagine the sound of an internally cooked and exploding spider.  He heard a saurid screech and he made a face.  "Well I’m not out to make friends with Jani tonight.. good thing., hmm?"
