The silliest string-theory alternative yet draws inspiration from video games

Noted physicist, computer scientist, and mathematician Stephen Wolfram recently stunned the science community at-large after announcing he’d pretty much figured out how the universe works.

Wolfram’s a household name in the science community. He’s responsible for Wolfram Alpha, the search engine that AskJeeves wished it was, and the creation of a math-based programming language called Wolfram Language used to power the popular Mathematica system and, now, the creation of the Wolfram Physics Project. His contributions go back to his formative years where, by age 14, he’d written three books on the subject of physics.

It’s important to understand that Wolfram’s considered a respected scientific mind because his new theory, which is represented as simply “A Class of Models with the Potential to Represent Fundamental Physics,” come straight out of left field with a pretty wacky approach.

Now, of course, “wacky” is a relevant term when it comes to physics. Wofram’s attempting to do what Einstein and Stephen Hawking have tried before him: create an explanation for the universe that makes sense. To this end, physicists and other scientists have come up with theories that range from multiple worlds (as in, more than one universe) to “we’re all living in a computer simulation” (which just begs the question, what’s the universe that the computer is in made of?). So calling a physics theory “wacky” implies an entirely different level of weirdness.

Let’s start at the beginning. According to a blog post from Wolfram, he had a sort-of “eureka” moment a few months back that gave him insight into the inner workings of the universe. The post begins with the ominous phrase “I never expected this.”

Then Wolfram’s fervor immediately paints the picture of a scientist in semi-“mad” mode:

It’s unexpected, surprising—and for me incredibly exciting. To be fair, at some level I’ve been working towards this for nearly 50 years. But it’s just in the last few months that it’s finally come together. And it’s much more wonderful, and beautiful, than I’d ever imagined.

In many ways it’s the ultimate question in natural science: How does our universe work? Is there a fundamental theory? An incredible amount has been figured out about physics over the past few hundred years. But even with everything that’s been done—and it’s very impressive—we still, after all this time, don’t have a truly fundamental theory of physics.

This all adds up. We do have quantum mechanics, but despite being a very, very successful theory it doesn’t quite explain everything. Then there’s string theory, which has taken a bit of a beating in recent years. So yeah, maybe we do need a new kind of physics.

What makes Wolfram‘s theory different is that, well, it’s not really a theory. It’s more like the frame-work of a theory. It seems like he’s just saying the universe is made of a 3D mesh with enough point-to-point lines added in to create a physical topography. In other words, it feels like Wolfram‘s proposing that the universe works exactly like a 3D computer model.

This seems like just the kind of thing someone who specializes in creating computer languages would say. Much like how Einstein and Hawking, scientists who specialized in nuclear and astrophysics, decided that gravity and black holes were the key to understanding the universe’s true nature.

Mathematicians tend to think the universe is made of math and physicists tend to think it’s made of tiny stuff that keeps getting tinier the closer you look.

Folks. I do not live under a rock. Have I heard of Stephen Wolfram’s physics project? How could I not given that his PR people rammed it down my inbox. Why do I not comment on it? I looked at it and don’t think it’s interesting, that’s why. Now please move on.

Wolfram describes the basics of his new concept as thus:

In the early 1980s, when I started studying the computational universe of simple programs, I made what was for me a very surprising and important discovery: that even when the underlying rules for a system are extremely simple, the behavior of the system as a whole can be essentially arbitrarily rich and complex.

What he then proposes is that everything in the universe can be explained by imagining it all as a series of interconnected points. He explains the topography and physical structure of the universe as a series of unfolding events that follow precise mathematical rules. This seemingly allows Wolfram to explain the concept of “time,” which Einstein side-steps by combining it with space, as a sort of backdoor math modifier to rationalize expansion.

Per the blog post:

So what then is time? In effect it’s much as we experience it: the inexorable process of things happening and leading to other things. But in our models it’s something much more precise: it’s the progressive application of rules, that continually modify the abstract structure that defines the contents of the universe.

Wolfram‘s offering a set of math-based rules that he believes could eventually become the foundation for a unified theory of everything. But there’s a catch: he’s asking for the science community at large to help him prove it. Like many big theories – especially those that come along to challenge quantum mechanics or string-theory – this one has all the answers, but it hasn’t worked out which questions make them relevant quite yet.

Perhaps the biggest criticism of Wolfram‘s work is that it’s a bit dense. The technical explanation alone weighs in at over 400 pages. It’s going to take a few months for all of his ideas to see peer-review. That makes it a bit odd that he’s already publishing a book, running a project website, and soliciting partnerships to move the work forward. What’s the rush? The universe will still need explaining after everyone’s had a glance at the paper.

At the end of the day, one has to wonder how much chance a unified theory of the universe that cribs from both the arcade gaming era and Nick Bostrom’s simulation hypothesis has against M-theory, relativity, or other long-standing remedies.

Still, a rising tide lifts all vessels and Wolfram‘s current passion is bound to yield some interesting mathematical results.

Would You Trust your Best friend, or Einstein an Angel or your Mom to Share that , Reality is not anything like what we feel or think. It is just amazing - what the truth is...

"Japanese scientists over 15 years in hard-won perfect mathematics announced "the Universe is a Hologram" (arXiv Repository in Nov.'13)

Sharing how we're in a holographic universe which can be best under stood, as one 'huge hologram' with our entire cosmic & personal life light-images on it, In it, as its very images, that we all see everyday.

Yoshifumi Hyakutake of Ibaraki University in Japan did this amazing work with a diligent team of scientists for near 2 decades. By computing the energy inside of black holes, as well its event horizon (the point from which nothing escapes)& many other measured realities -- he was able to reveal the “Hologram universe” without 'one error' in all of their math.

But what does it mean for us If we are living in a hologram?

It means everything to our heart--joy, and.. in our pondering it's bliss..

It means a divine projectionist truly is in control:

Its light, love and meaning. We are in Divine care.

Einstein said this remarkable quote...

“Reality is an illusion, albeit a very persistent illusion.”

What’s so illusory about Einstein’s reality?

Think on it this way. We all know that photographs in newspapers are just really a group of dots/ dot patterns--some small & some large dots. A magnifying glass reveals this.

If an ant crawled across the dots it would simply say there’s a bunch of dots here, but he would not see the picture that they portray to us as we see it from up here at our level, at our perspective.

We see a coherent image from our perspective, Now, Einstein said about Determinism; (a predominant physics theory accepted by most scientists). Einstein proclaimed...

“Everything’s determined – the beginning as well as the end – by forces over which we have no control. It is determined for the insect as well as for the star. Human beings, vegetables, cosmic dust; we All dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an Invisible Player.”

Also, the question of TIME'S Reality has been with us a long 'time'.

Scientists have tried to find Time - its evidence, its presence or proofs, even in the purest mathematic equations, and they have not & cannot find Time anywhere.

It is just a word we use...a concept we simply agree on, without there being any proof or reality to it.

What we truly experience as an explanation for Time is the forward moving sequence of our living reality - simply passing thru our consciousness.

Each moment is a vignette in a sequence, in our ever-present consciousness....like a picture book we are suppose to flip thru quickly to make the pictures look like movement is present.

The forward movement of reality is the real question ....where does the forward movement come from?

For that forward moving sequence maybe God's most miraculous miracle- anywhere, anyhow, anyway, in any case 'world without end'.

When we ponder this we can see how amazing forward movement IS.

Here is the answer, for the first time in public. Ready?

This is the concept on marrying the mostly unknown simultaneous, omnipresent universal 'Oscillation,' to 'Determinism', (as time is not needed) anywhere, even and especially in a hologram. Here we go...

Divine Being Sequences All Our Lives Together Coherently –Even though Time Doesn’t Exist (thank god for that forward sequence).

There is a reality that not too many people know about, as it is known in the highest elite levels of quantum and astrophysics. All the fathers of modern science knew - and know about it. Einstein, Planck, Bohr, Heisenberg, Schrodinger, Hawking and anyone really, in that rarefied field of study, know it.

Most laymen don't hear about it. Plus, science has so many names for it, it's easy to get confused because if you don't call it by a single name, it's challenging tracking updates or explanations on it.

It's been called the Cosmological Constant by Einstein & it's also known as Zero-point Energy, 'The Casimir Effect', The Quantum Oscillator (oscillation), Higgs Field energy, Vacuum energy...etc. So what is it?

It is an infinitely tiny vibration everywhere, in energy-matter space touching literally everything; evenly spread in omnipresence; it's kind of like a infinitely tiny pulse or heart beat present literally everywhere.

And two things you should know. It is rhythmic - and it is not 'traveling' to anywhere from anywhere else, because it's already everywhere - pulsing its universal shimmering vibration, and providing energy to the whole cosmos. Hmm... providing energy everywhere...?....wow.

It is the energy behind every thing everywhere.

Does any one have an explanation for it, or why or where it comes from? No.

Is it a proof of a Prime Mover? Well, technically & literally, yes

Einstein and Max Planck (the father of quantum mechanics) and those earlier scientists, saw as a proof of divine conscious omnipresence.

The atheistic scientists of today, don't know how or why its here, but their atheism blinds them to overwhelming incandescent evidence of an organizing energy feeding 'power' to the all - above them and beyond them. They are simply 'closed-minded.'

Since we know that the universal “quantum oscillation” exists (which is right now simultaneously across the universe shimmering its eternal vibration) – and since we know that science agrees this ‘cosmological-constant vibration’ is every where at once, (not traveling to everywhere) – but simple is everywhere already, we can now say for all of posterity...

How God creates the ‘sequence’ and forward movement of all of our experiential reality(s)...

This is especially relevant since time is a figmentary-concept in human belief systems.

It can now be shown that if there is no time anywhere, Not even in math equations--(which is true), so then, experiencing a forward movement to reality (as we are) is a true conundrum. Scientists can't abide unanswered conundrums.

The masters of mathematics or physics require satisfaction some how, in their striving comprehension.

Here is the answer to the conundrum of forward-moving reality...when time does not exist.

The word ‘omnificient ’ means “unlimited creative power' - "abounding in an inexhaustible creativity of being”.

Only the One Infinite Consciousness can be described as

‘o m n i f i c e n t.’

We now realize that the Infinite Consciousness can infuse an intention which it has, "in anything it expresses", (for its unfolding purposes) - as all is made up of, and from mind. How else could it be?

First it is designed and imagined, then... it is manifest...In & by mind's imagination. As long as it is held in imagingation it will be eternally there.

This means all 'matter-energy, space particles anywhere' (protons neutrons, electrons, etc.), in any cosmic Space, or in genes, gene code or any programmed hormone, in brain cells, in DNA programming will employ & embody an infused intention from God (who placed it there).

This intention will come into manifestation at the intended time & place as it is “riding on” THIS infinite oscillation. It’s like the seed-principle. It will just grow and multiply by an inexorable expanding power that no one anywhere can explain.

Growth is an inexplicable process-power no one can explain.

Divine Being has the infinite capacity to infuse an ‘intention’ in “this moment-by-moment forward-moving-story-sequence” of our life – and the whole cosmos.

But how? How does the inexorable forward movement of the cosmos “share the same now-moment for everyone” when time does not exist? And why is it forward-moving?

Well, the infinite simultaneous oscillation which Einstein calls 'Cosmological Constant,' is the answer.

It carries the same now-moment oscillation-energy simultaneously, to everyone and everything (as we all share the same quantum oscillation energy simultaneously already - all over).

So.. there is already something that we all 'share simultaneously.'

If we share in the same oscillation (which we do) then we will also share in “whatever is infused to that oscillation” as well; (If we hitch a wagon to a star, then whoever has the “star”, has the “wagon” as well).

Since the trillisecond oscillation is omnipresent in space, matter-energy (trillisecond is used for convenience BTW) then, it is affecting every thing simultaneously and evenly, all at once.

Therefore, this universal cosmological vibration can impart the same simultaneous feeling in time-sequencing to everyone in the universe, because it’s being felt everywhere at once, evenly, equally, by all.

How does it work?

The quantum oscillation is “simultaneously vibrating equally every where” across the universe. This means, that whatever you hitch onto or infuse into, that infinite-vibration, That will be shared all over for every one together, (i.e, when breathing the same air, if it smells like smoke, or lemons we all perceive it alike).

What this means is, we can all be in the same holographic moment “feeling” both now, and...its 'forward-moving sequence progression' of life.

If God hitches the forward moving story-sequence in his mind to his ever-present universal oscillation (as a rider on its essence), then ... we all live it in the same now moment - our is ours, theirs is theirs.

Since the oscillation is ever w/us (& everything else eternally) then each now moment (in its progression forward) is infused to that infinite oscillation of manifesting energy... so each now-moment will be with us in its moment, perfectly, continuously, simultaneously, ever and ever.

It is all because the quantum oscillation is everywhere at once,eternally. The now.moment in divine mind is 'riding on' god's infinite oscillation ( i.e. when you walk down the side walk, you take your flowing moving blood within your veins, on the same walk).

Thank you, for the simultaneous forward moving story, for each of us, That is truly amazing...because when it "all started in a void of matter-energy" - getting the sequence of an entire universe rolling in such perfection, in such forward moving wisdom is pure, dumbfounding miraculousness.
