mixed feelings about the robot sex textbook because so far it doesn't seem to be saying much about robots that aren't near-indistinguishable from humans in appearance, but on the other hand it's proving to be extremely quotable, so there's that

Network Effect is so far my favourite part of the Murderbot. Like holy shit, it just gets better and better and my "let androids be unhuman" heart is excited for how weirdly specific and unique things get. Like the idea itself behind the things that are happening and how it all evolves. So good. The gory robofuckery that occasionally pokes a needle of sentimentality or makes me laugh out loud? Hell yes.

And I've seen a mention of a hivemind???? (Not sure if that'll be explored in greater details yet, but HOLY SHIT I'M SO IN FOR IT)

I read Nobody Knows yesterday and my favorite part is probably thinking about how Mallek's long suffering crew is handling his supposed robofuckery

I feel like they would already be on edge around him because he isn't particularly violent or sadistic and they're just kind of waiting to see what his deal is/ what's wrong with him and if it's anything beyond being a loner. What starts out as a joke of "lol maybe he's just really into robots" becomes less funny over time when it seriously becomes, "he might actually be a robotfucker." Like how do you even process that information? What do you even do with it? You can't confirm or deny it since no one is dumb enough to ask, but it's becoming uncomfortably plausible and you're just trying to get through your shift.
