One that he had hired of his own volition, admiring the tenacity of the woman but now he is left wondering if he had made a big mistake. When the employee scrambles to point toward the nearby restroom, Grayson mumbles a thank you before making a beeline to stand outside of the private facilities. He raps his knuckles against the door, feet tapping impatiently. "Everything alright in there?"

He couldn't believe it was his high school's ten-year reunion. In truth, Abe almost didn't go. After all the bad experiences he had, from the bullying to the teasing to the fighting, all Abe could think was that those people would still make fun of him. But after his little sister somehow managed to convince him to suck it up (saying "Everyone's all grown-up now. No one would laugh at you."), he decided to go.

Stepping into the high school gymnasium, Abe was hit with a terrible sense of dreadful nostalgia. He fought the urge to bolt out of there and miraculously, his feet stepped further in. Before making it to the punch bowl, Abe managed to say hi to a few familiar faces. But then suddenly he felt his blood run cold at the person calling for his attention--the very person who made his life a living hell all those years ago.

"Oh, uh h-hey. Yea, it's good to see you, too."

"i don't... we haven't gotten there yet." the boyfriend was just for show, in her mind. maybe he didn't know that, but lauren was really getting into the idea of a showmance and a pr relationship that she sort of forgot to tell the man who was playing her love interest the plan. and it sort of helped that her roommate was getting a front row seat to his groping and neck kissing. not as enjoyable to her as it was to him, though, because he went home and she had turned to her roommate who had so happened to be there. Their relationship had always been private, and with their recent breakup, they both agreed to keep it on the down-low. But keeping it on the down-low didn't cover lying to their parents about their status and asking them to go to a family event as if they were still together. "This is a terrible idea." But seeing the pleading look on their face, she's starting to consider the idea.

first class was nothing new for talon. he'd been indulging the luxuries of life since he'd been a teenager. as he enjoyed the first class lounge with a fresh martini, he made his way towards a private seating area hoping to enjoy a movie as he waited for his flight. to his surprise, a small body collides with his as he turns the corner into a dark room. she merely stands there, listening to her girlfriend's words. more often than not, she's not easily dismayed by another's words. she's heard and seen it all - yet to be told she's disloyal has a surge of shame charging uncomfortably through her system. for the majority of her life, she'd used the ways in which her genetics had not let her down and her feminine wiles to her advantage. using them to stay alive, using them as a defense mechanism. never had she actually concluded that they'd make her disloyal before. licking at her lips before allowing another word to fall, she finds herself taking a step back, wanting to prevent her sadness from being too clear to the other woman. He even mentions as much to his co-workers in the back when they are out of the guy's earshot. Finally, he swings back by and offers him a huge smile. It wasn't fair of him to expect her to just sit and wait for his return, to put her entire life on hold just on the prospect that he would come home in one piece but he has developed a particular type of selfishness that made him want to hope she would anyway. He lowers his head until it hangs between his shoulders, closing his eyes for a few beats, a dry laugh escapes him as she continues to speak. "I don't have much choice," He argues gently. Adrian has never been one to be hung up over someone, after losing his family, he had closed himself off to the idea of ever having that kind of connection again. He is now in a situation where he wants the best of both worlds, a relationship with Jackie and his career without one bleeding into the other. "You're giving me your blessing to move on?" He questions, when he finally looks at her again, only to try to plant doubt in her mind, and prompt her to consider her own words. Jackie's words hit harder than Adrian realises, "No, they are not" He confirms in a bitter tone, but he'd be completely delusional not to agree. "You see, my dilemma with this is that I cannot stay away from you. Even with the demands of my work, which I'm still very much dedicated to, my mind is always with you"

tate  and  giulia  —  i'm  a  sucker  for  mob  connections  but  also,  i  feel  like  tate's  situation  could  fit  giulia's  backstory  so  well.  she  was  kidnapped  at  an  early  age  by  a  different  family  (around  when  she  was  7/8)  and  kept  hostage.  in  her  main  verse  she  comes  back  to  her  family  when  she  turns  twenty-one  but  maybe  for  their  plot,  if  it  was  his  family  kidnapping  her,  she  never  goes  back  and  that's  how  they  met.  her  being  the  new  girl  who's  now  living  with  them  but  she's  a  prisoner  to  his  father,  and  even  if  she  does  escape  at  some  point  maybe  he's  the  one  who  helps  her  but  now  their  families  are  enemies  cause  now  her  dad  knows  it  was  his  family  and  they  begin  a  war  but  they  had  this  friendship  (or  an  almost  something)  while  she  was  there  so  it's  just  a  tragic  mess.  scarlet  and  hae  —  couch  surfing  and  trauma  dumping  girlfriends  anyone?  hae  never  had  a  good  family,  she  was  raised  by  a  single  mother  who  was  battling  addiction  and  they  barely  had  any  money  to  make  through  and  then,  when  she  was  around  twelve,  her  mother  passed  away  and  her  neighbour  took  her  in  to  avoid  her  being  put  in  the  system.  the  neighbour  was  a  stripper  and  a  little  closed  off  but  she  was  friends  with  hae's  mother  so  she  agreed  to  help  her.  she  managed  to  keep  hae  alive,  give  her  enough  stability  to  put  her  through  school  and  college  but  when  it  came  down  to  it,  they  barely  had  money  to  do  anything  and  hae  started  working  with  her.  after  she  finished  college  she  moved  out  but  still  works  as  a  stripper/dancer  mostly.  so  either  them  meeting  at  a  concert  or  something,  hae  has  lowkey  groupie  vibes  as  well  so  maybe  she  was  hanging  around  her  band  when  they  met  and  they  just  clicked.  tommy  and  verda  —  asshole  x  asshole  vibes  cause  they're  both  not  interested  in  having  relationships,  focusing  on  the  casual  aspect  of  it  and  their  career.  verda  is  very  professional,  she's  a  broadway  star  who  just  got  her  big  break  and  is  finally  making  some  noise  in  the  industry.  she  left  her  home  and  abandoned  an  eight  years  old  relationship  to  make  it  and  she  can't  let  anything  get  in  her  way  so  love  is  just...  not  an  option.  so  the  friends  with  benefits  to  lovers  pipeline  could  be  perfect  for  these  two  i  feel.
