Owning a scorpion that's considered an aggressive species has changed the way i view the frog and scorpion fable so deeply.

She is aggressive but only because she is scared, because I could kill her so easily. She would never sting me unless she had a very good reason, and to me it might seem cruel, but its her nature to be afraid and its her fear that leads her to sting. She sees it as reasonable to threaten me when I lift up her hide, she sees it as reasonable to get ready to pinch me when I put my hand near her, She is so deeply afraid everything seems like a threat.

to me the scorpion in the fable did hurt the frog out of nature, but only because it was her nature to be so deeply afraid, she felt she had no choice. and in that fear she not only killed someone who did a kind act, but also herself in the process.
