one thing i really appreciate about jinshi's character is how he has NEVER once actually had any intention of succeeding the throne. every time the idea is brought up he immediately detests it. so hes giving maomao as much as he possibly can, even though maomao has many qualms about it due to their difference in social status, but jinshi DOESNT CARE because hes NEVER cared about or wanted the status of crown prince! its been nothing but a burden to him! from his perspective the ONLY thing keeping the two of them apart are outside influences. he has no doubt within himself-- hes horribly down bad, in fact. but unfortunately his stupid JOB is getting in the way of him skipping off into the sunset with his favourite little cat

The Raven - Chapter 35
Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
White-hot rage boils inside of the raven, burning through his veins ferociously.
He cannot remember a time when he has ever felt so much hatred before.
At this moment, his detestation for the queen is infinite.
He finds himself wholly incapable of understanding the intentions behind her insistence that her son marries a woman against his will, even considering that the deranged woman had thought she was doing it in Henry's best interest.
Caleb's abhorrence for the king is equally significant.
The idea that the man had demanded his creation for the sole purpose of being loved by the prince only to have it taken away from him so ruthlessly stirs a furious despair within him that he cannot disregard.
But most of all, the raven harbors an unrelenting and endless hatred for his mother, he could never forgive the woman who willingly made him for such a horrific purpose without even a shred of remorse.
Realization suddenly dawns on him, its glaring truth blinding him to everything else, this is what his mother has been preparing him for all these years.
This is the supposed prophecy, the war that has been foreseen is entirely inducted by Prince Henry's love for a man and not just any man but Caleb himself.
The raven cannot help but wonder, had his mother expected him to be on her side of this depraved situation?
Did she believe he could be created to love Henry so wholeheartedly, so profoundly, just to turn his back on their love and fight against him when it truly matters?
If so, she is just as delusional as the queen.
Delilah acts quickly, trying to counter the raven's magic with a spell of her own but as the smoke begins to dissipate and the room empties, she realizes that the boys have vanished.
She had been dreading this day for the last eighteen years, hoping she had worked diligently enough to ensure her complete control over the raven, she had expected him to be easy to compel into doing her bidding.
Without her secret weapon on her side, the woman fears her plan will not be successful and she is determined not to fail at this point, especially after all the hard work she put into preparing for this precise moment.
After all the years that she has waited to reign supreme against the injustices forced upon her.
Quickly, the witch exits the room in search of the two boys, Henry's parents following closely behind her.
Outside the castle, the extravagantly adorned golden gates have been busted open, the once intricately groomed courtyard overflowing with the battling citizens and guards, littered with limp bodies and stained crimson with blood.
Even through the chaos and destruction, it is not difficult to find Prince Henry and the raven within the crowd.
The plume of looming smoke seems to be emanating from the center of the yard, swirling in the air and choking the palace guards specifically as if they had been targeted by the cloud itself.
Delilah takes a deep breath, certain that it is the raven's intention to fight against anyone who opposes his union with his beloved prince; she understands that she is likely high on his list of potential opponents.
As the witch approaches the source of the black cloud, she uses her own magic to try to detain her disobedient creation.
"Raven, listen to my voice," his mother says, hoping her powers are strong enough to compel him.
Had the queen not incessantly interfered with the plan, Delilah would have had more time to prepare for the blasted boy's opposition to her commands.
Unfortunately, she cannot undo what has been done, she must now make do with the cards she has been dealt.
"You are fighting on the wrong side of this war. Join us, Raven and fight for what is right."
The shadows of the guardsmen begin to come to life at that exact moment, battling alongside their master, Caleb's magic holds them firmly, commanding their every move with ease.
His voice blares in his mother's head, drowning out all coherent thoughts.
"Your poor decisions have led us to this very moment," he says, his gaze and attention never wavering from the war continuing around him. "I am not the weak little bird you think me to be. I will not yield until the threat has been properly contained."
As guard after guard is slaughtered, incapacitated or surrendered, the witch can tell that she is fighting a losing battle, although, she will not yet be discouraged.
Delilah gathers all of her energy and focuses on defeating her mistake of a creation, wishing with everything in her that she had never thought of making this atrocious creature in the first place.
Observing the circumstances around her, she notices the guards around her are not holding up well to the shadows and smoke but they could likely defeat the townspeople with ease, if she can just detain the raven, they could possibly still be victorious.
At this moment, the woman regrets a multitude of her past decisions, the aftermath of her selfish and greedy blatantly proclaiming how ignorant she had been.
Lying to the king initially about the supposed prophecy had been the beginning of this downfall, as well as her greatest mistake.
She should have planned better, she should have been more careful.
Had she not been so intent on causing emotional damage to the queen by bedding her husband, the witch would have thought to compel the entire kingdom to join her side in this battle.
Delilah did, of course, tell the king the people would be fighting with them against the outside forces of evil that would arise from Prince Henry's marriage to another man.
She obviously had not put in enough effort to ensure a triumphant outcome, much to her dismay.
With a shake of her head, the witch attempts to clear her thoughts, as she sends all of her magic toward the raven and his prince, Delilah collapses, having spent all her energy on the single task.
Caleb looks up from the shadows he controls just in time to see a large blast of magic heading his way.
Using his smoke to push Henry to safety, the raven focuses entirely on saving his prince, it is the only thing that truly matters to him at this moment.
Caleb does not even see the magic as it suddenly crashes directly into him, knocking him off his feet and stealing the breath from his lungs.

Top 20 BEST Animated Series of the 2010s-6th Place
Can someone please explain how it is possible that #6 can somehow be one of the best shows in the 2010s, yet somehow it can also be one of the worst?
#6-Rick and Morty (2013-)
The Plot: A nihilistic scientist named Rick Sanchez returns to his daughter and joins her family to the dismay of...well, everyone else. The one who gets the most anxiety is Rick’s grandson, Morty, who ends up getting dragged alongside Rick on adventures across the cosmos and even the multiverse. From there, they face dangerous aliens, Rick’s old enemies, and even evil alternate versions of themselves. Not because those threats are a danger to the universe. It's because they’re just a pain in the ass to deal with.
Now that I got the plot out of the way, I want to take the chance to briefly rant about why Rick and Morty is one of the worst things that could have come to television. It has nothing to do with the show itself (far from it, in fact). The real reason why Rick and Morty is the worst has everything to do with its fandom. I know, I know. I shouldn’t use a show’s fandom to judge it. Because if I did, then half the series on this list would be blasted into the sun. But the Rick and Morty fandom is the one exception to that rule. Because unlike most toxic fandoms that stick with being a-holes to other people on the internet, the Rick and Morty fandom actually affects real life. They take quotes from the show that were fun to say and repeat them so much that those quotes become the most annoying words created by man. This fandom also drove McDonalds up a wall because Rick briefly mentions how delicious the Szechuan sauce was, and the “fans” ended up breaking McDonalds when they briefly brought it back. But nothing, and I mean NOTHING, is more annoying than how these people react when someone says they don’t like the show.
You see, according to the fandom, “Rick and Morty operates on a higher form of intelligence that far exceeds all shows known to man. If you don’t enjoy it, then you’re just a big old dumb fjdlfjkdlfjoidsahjipfojewoitufd9gt9geijo parwfu9--” SHUT THE F**K UP! Ok?! Shut up! Just shut up! Because Rick and Morty is NOT the smartest T.V. show on the planet. It’s not even CLOSE to the most intelligent show on television. It’s smarter than most shows. I’ll give it that. But if you want to ask me which show was the most intelligent, I will more than willingly say Futurama. You know. The show is actually written by people with three PhDs and seven master's degrees. Hell, I’d be more willing to say that The Amazing World of Gumball is smarter than Rick and Morty. That’s right. I wholeheartedly believe that the show aimed for children-F**KING CHILDREN-is smarter than the show aimed for adults. And guess what, Rick and Morty fans! It doesn't require Stephen Hawking's levels of intelligence to enjoy the show. You can easily be a C+ high school student and still think the show is good. I should know because I’ve caught classmates who are C+ students watching the show while IN CLASS! AND THEY ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! NOT BECAUSE IT WAS BRILLIANT! NOT BECAUSE IT WAS A MASTERPIECE SENT BY THE BIG GUY HIMSELF! BUT BECAUSE IT IS LIKE EVERY OTHER SHOW THAT IS AIMED FOR ADULTS! WITH LOW BROW AND HIGH BROW HUMOR, GRATUITOUS VIOLENCE, BUTT UGLY ANIMATION, AND CHARACTERS WHO ACT LIKE A**HOLES TO EACH OTHER BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT ADULTS LIKE TO SEE ON TELEVISION!
>SCREAMS WITH INSANITY<
>Huff<
>Puff<
Man, that’s twice in a row when a show has nearly driven me to the brink of insanity. That can’t be any good.
Aw well. Not that I’ve got that rant out of the way, allow me to actually talk about the show itself and why it actually is pretty amazing.
First and foremost is the show’s comedy. While the jokes aren’t “brilliant masterpieces,” they are jokes that get you thinking from time to time. They also come pretty fast, so even when one dies, another funnier joke immediately comes after. This show also dabbles in two different senses of humor: Absurdity and being super dark. The way absurd and dark humor works are by giving viewers no other reaction other than laughing at a situation. Because how else would you react to squirrels running the government or the idea that Hitler cured cancer in an alternate dimension? I mean, other than being confused and disgusted by things such as that. This is why humor, like most things, is subjective. Not everyone will find the same things funny, and, understandably, they don’t. I personally can’t stop laughing in most episodes of Rick and Morty, but I would never verbally attack another person for saying something different. So chill the f**k out when a person says they don’t think the show is funny! Besides, other cool pros that come from Rick and Morty.
One spectacular thing is the show’s attention to detail. And I don’t just mean in terms of animation. The stories are pretty airtight most of the time, and rarely do I find a plot hole within. The best example is the twist in “The Ricklantis Mixup.” The episode itself is already pretty good, but having prior knowledge of the final big reveal leads to looking at specific scenes in a new light. As for the animation, there’s also great detail within it. Like in the background, to be more exact. The show goes out of its way to make each new world that Rick and Morty visits look as unique as possible, which should really be the goal for a sci-fi series if you ask me. And can we give a round of applause to whoever designs the characters in this show? I mean, the characters look hideous (which is something I never understood in adult animation. Seriously, who was the idiot that thought it was a good idea that you have to make your characters look as ugly as possible to be considered for adults?), but each character in this series--background and foreground--looks unique. Usually, most shows stick to having similar models reused and redesigned to give the illusion that the background characters are different. But in Rick and Morty? There is rarely a time when one creature looks the same as the other. And when they do, it’s usually for a purpose such as an alien species that looks the same or making an identical alternate version of Rick and Morty.
Speaking of, what is by far the best thing about Rick and Morty is...well, Rick and Morty. These two not only have a great dynamic, but they even have great chemistry with each other. Because whenever a show advertises its central hook being its dynamic duo, the same pair must have perfect interactions. And boy, is it hilarious seeing these bounce off of one another. Their synergy is always hilarious, and at times it can be surprisingly heartwarming. In fact, what I love most about these two is how they sort of learn from each other. Rick is still a nihilistic a-hole to those around him, but he seems to back off the most when he’s around Morty (most of the time). And while Morty still puts his foot down when it comes to Rick’s pure unadulterated...Rickness, he also has moments where he seems to share his grandfather's nihilistic views. I rarely ever seen this, as most dynamic duos keep their intended personalities to keep audiences entertained. And while I’ve heard fans complain about how the show makes Rick more human and Morty more like a Rick, I personally enjoy how much of an engaging character study these two represent.
Unfortunately, while Rick and Morty are easily the most intriguing characters in their series, they are also the only characters worth mentioning. Summer is fine, I guess, but most of the time, it feels like the writers aren’t sure what to do with her. Is she a slacker? A cliche teenage girl? Rick’s number one fan? I don’t know because most of the time, it feels like her personality is dependent on what the writers want in an episode. She isn’t bad, but some consistency would be nice. As for other characters, there really aren't that many who are worth mentioning. Most of them are either bit characters who serve the purpose of making a joke or are just one-off villains that our “heroes” face. Now there isn’t anything wrong with that, especially considering the latter. After all, when you watch Bugs Bunny screw around with someone who's wronged him, it’s always that Wascally Wabbit you remember the most. Still, I wish there were a couple more characters the show could invest in. And I know, last time I complained about a show that had too many characters. However, the opposite extreme isn’t that great either. Personally, I feel as though a series should have a moderately sized cast, where there are enough personalities to work off of, and you won’t have to recycle ideas you’ve used with the characters you already have.
And seeing as how we’re on the topic of characters, there are two individuals that I need to talk about. In fact, these two characters are easily the worst thing about Rick and Morty (aside from the fandom). Those characters are Beth and Jerry. Sweet mother of all that is holy, these two are downright insufferable! For some reason, the writers think it would be entertaining to have a married couple always argue and bicker with each other. It isn’t. In fact, every time an episode moves away from Rick and Morty and decides to focus on these two, the show’s quality plummets on a lot of notches. You’ll want to see them get a divorce. You’ll PRAY that they get a divorce. And (actual spoilers) when they finally get a divorce in season 3, do you want to know what the worst part is? They are somehow worse apart than they are together (spoilers over). And you can argue who you think is worse all you want, but to me, the worst character is easily Beth. I personally don’t mind Jerry all that much. At his best, he’s hilariously pathetic, has a great dynamic with Rick, and I legitimately feel bad for him when the universe seems to kick him when he’s down. Can he get a little grating at times? Yes. Absolutely. But while Jerry can be annoying, Beth can be a downright psychotic moron. She will willingly endanger her family, all in the efforts of pleasing a narcissistic a**hole of a father who consistently has a god complex. And when a person points this out to her, she will insult them and point out how “great” it is to have her father back again. Even though Rick didn’t seem like that great of a father anyway. It is physically and psychologically unhealthy for Beth to have these disillusions, and it isn’t until four seasons does she actually tries to show some backbone. Which I still don’t believe because it feels like it won’t last by how quick it is.
And seeing that we’re on my own personal hang-ups with the show, there’s one last topic that I want to cover. And it’s a topic that, to my knowledge, nobody else is bothered by. This problem affects me personally, and I want to give a word of warning to those who might not actually feel the same way. And that’s the fact that Justin Roiland is not the great of a voice actor that he thinks he is. This doesn’t mean he’s a bad voice actor because he's far from it. In fact, I can’t even hear the similarities between his voice for Rick and for Morty. But there is a problem: Justin Roiland has two modes. It’s either his normal voice or his high pitched voice. Both with minimal modulation, and it’s the latter that he seems to focus on the most when he voices 80% of the characters. The problem is that I not only think his high-pitched voice is annoying but with how consistently Roiland uses it, it will always break the immersion for me. Because I’m not hearing a unique character. I’m hearing Justin Roiland doing the same high pitched voice for nearly every character he voices. Just look at Seth Macfarlane and the characters he voices. You can tell it’s him, but he at least offers different modulations for each character (If you don’t believe me, then compare some of his famous roles with Justin Roiland’s).
While we’re still talking Justin Roiland’s acting, it’s also his improv that could use a little workshop. Now, for the most part, the improvisation is pretty good in the show. Like actual good improv, it feels natural within the dialogue exchanges, and you wouldn’t know until someone else points it out. However, there are times when Roiland’s improv can feel like verbal barfing. It’s fine when he voices Rick’s drunken rants, but for the Interdimensional Cable episodes? Yeah, needless to say, it can get a little noticeable. So noticeable that even the characters point out how blatant it is within the episode. Again, this is something that bothers me personally. To my knowledge, there isn’t anyone else who complains about this aspect of the show, which is perfectly fine. I just feel like other people should get a word of warning before they dive right in.
So is Rick and Morty the godsend of a series that surpasses all other television shows? F**k no. No series that has ever been made is 100% perfect. Not even the good ones. And if you disagree, then you are in denial over how many faults a show has. For instance, Rick and Morty have plenty of issues. There’s not that many likable characters, it has the worst cartoon couple ever with Beth and Jerry, and Justin Roiland needs to work on his acting despite being an already good actor. That’s everything wrong with Rick and Morty in a nutshell. But despite these problems, the show still has phenomenal attention to detail, hilarious comedy, and the best dynamic duo in recent memory. So while it isn’t the perfect show that its fans believe it is, it is still pretty damn good. And that alone is good enough for me.
(Just do yourself a favor and avoid joining the fandom. It’s already too late for those poor bastards who are already in too deep, but it isn’t too late for you!)

COUNTRY. Laos! (OC)
NAME. Vatsana Boumnevong / PREFERRED NAME. Vatsana or Sana
PRONOUNS. She/her
AGE. 21
ALIGNMENT. The Rats
APPEARANCE. There are visible faded gashes and contusions that glide over Vatsana’s body like a second skin. She considers herself a plain Jane in terms of height and outer appearance, but others say otherwise; with her ever-present ghost of a smile and gossamer limbs. And with her bodice and face always being ailed with the mucky-dried splotches of grime to dirt from God knows where. Standing at just 5'5", hitting just right under the mark of being underweight and baring little to no fat to focal parts of her body, which adds to her molt of a thinly cherubic appearance. Her complexion is notably tan, only to have gotten tanner from her adolescent years of working herself down in the pith of dirty holes and thickets of brittled-yellow wheats and grass-fields. She has grey-blue eyes and sleek yet unruly black hair that nips just the end of her tailbone. Her posture usually slugs, comparably in tune with her initial attitude. Although it appears her only redeeming quality would be her beauty marks that grace on her cheek and neck, and her full lashes, which she’s fully aware of so she tries her best to not pluck or mess with them.
PERSONALITY. Vatsana is definitely a natural born leader and bares all the raw barebones of the qualities. She is observant beyond compare and is particularly sensitive to smell and touch. But seldom does she use these to her advantages. Despite her initial sluggish and dopey outward appearance, she’s very excitable. She switches from one topic to the next and could be giving directions to a tourist to some mock-speakeasy around town to canting about the differences of apples oxidizing and apples truly rotting. Constantly striving for independence and believes all they have in life are the connections they make.
Truly and and unbearably hedonistic and only willing to follow her own code of morality; considerably straight-laced to a certain extent, but only when it suits her. She has no qualms of using deception or morally grey notions for the greater good or for herself. Vatsana is immensely facetious, which her peers in her life either learn to cope with or to shortly play along with. Often, she has an issue of misplaced empathy or compassion and can be painted as someone with no particular social grace. Vatsana will either feel a heavy sense of dread or humility for others or feel a vastly underwhelming amount of sorts. Which is the only thing Vatsana is secretly insecure about, despite of all her more evident flaws in her comportment. She is most insecure about her ability and her incompetence when it comes to it.
STRENGTHS: - Her unyielding allegiance ; once Vatsana is glued to an ensemble, she'l lstick. Which is unpredicted of her because of her nomadic-like mentality. - Her genuine affability ; she can be seen as not so favorable company by some others because of her rugged physique with a matching sneer and facetious attitude but if anything she’s wholeheartedly a good time. - Emotional support ; in spite of her unable to display the appropriate gestures or feelings at the appropriate time, she grins and bears it and offers solace which a lot of people surprisingly take her up on.
WEAKNESSES: - Grudges ; Vatsana has little to no grip on herself when upholding grudges and lets this get in the way of things incessantly. In order for one of her grudges to take root, you would have to be a repeated offender of something. From borrowing her clothes to taking her food, she will immediately drop ties with you just because she refuses to associate with people who take advantage of her and knowingly does it. She won’t ever do a damn thing for you ever again until you come back groveling on your knees and publically humiliate yourself. - Social cues ; while this speaks for itself, Vatsana does understand social cues now but she can never go through with them. As she matured, she made an attempt every day to improve herself on this and put her heart in it– but it just never ends up falling through for her. - Proneness to gullibility ; Vatsana is much too trusting and once she has befriended someone, she instantly gives them a morsel of herself and latches onto them. Either in a timeless pendulum of mutual comradery or blissfully unaware of an impending doom.
ABILITY. “ALL IS BORN AGAIN” — Based off the short poem written by the author, Sylvia Plath, ‘Mad Girl’s Love Song’. Reminiscent of the line: “I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead; I lift my lids and all is born again.” She retains the ability to summon a any amounts of rotters beyond the grave, ranging from one sole loner to a legion of rotters in that instant. They are neither initially malicious nor benign. But do tend to abide by Vatsana’s wishes– if she just closes her eyes. This ability used to work best in closed quarters as originally posited by her, since Vatsana once lacked the capability to round them up properly since they are so unpredictable and can organically think for themselves. However, she’s improved and found that if she keeps her eyes closed, their minds will sync with her’s. In spite of her eyes being closed, she can still manuveur and see properly. Once ‘All is Born Again’ is employed and her eyes are closed; Vatsana can see an exact layout of what’s happening around her behind her closed eyes. Every road and every bump. There are multiple drawbacks, however. If in too much of a large and open space, she will lose touch with their psyche and they’ll gradually march on forward without her. Their aptitude and ail-ness will also match with Vatsana’s. So if she falls wounded, that will take a toll on their psyche. If she obtains a sickness, the rotters will as well and their movements will be slower and won’t engender as much impact. Pertaining to its usage, she will become forgetful of the moment leading up to it, the moment it’s happening, the moment afterwards, and the perpetrators she used it on when she opens her eyes, which will cause all the rotters to suddenly vanish leaving outsiders and the offenders into thinking it was a mirage. If she keeps her eyes open the entire time, the Rotters’ psyche won’t link up with her’s. So she will just be another breathing being to them and not their Guidance so she has just as equal amounts of probability of getting harmed as the offenders do. Though this is not information Vatsana is aware of.
BACKGROUND. A purebred from the heart of Laos, the ever lovely Vientiane! Vatsana was raised graciously with her single loner of a mother who had metaphorically beaten and whipped her within an inch of her metaphorical life the standing moral code of their family. The expectation implemented on her were high; she was expected to marry young, she was expected to make constant, streaming bank by then, and she was expected to carry her then frail and old mother on her back for the rest of her life. The expectations were never ending and enforced onto her, possibly ever since she popped out. And when Vatsana turned out the exact opposite, her mother’s anger surprisingly did not come to fruition. Instead, she welcomed this unforeseen version of her dearest daughter with open arms– trashing away her memorable dream-scape version of her and not bothering to indulge in them. The Vatsana that was summoned was nothing short of.. a pain. But overwhelmingly friendly. She was considerably grabby and took nothing serious and she kept it along even when she grew out of her adolescent years. Snarky, impish, socially naive, everything her mother was scared of handling. But luckily for her mother, she holds back her ripostes and fends off all the attributes that worries her mother and holds a soft spot for her. Just as her mother does for her. But the one fence that they could not walk around or hop over, was school. Vatsana never cared for school, all the way from elementary to a palpable scenario of high school if she hadn’t been tacitly urged to drop out. Wreaking havoc was all she did, done, and does. From pouring paint on the ground to betting 3 kids she could persuade them to lick it, her ambiance either fended off the other kids or they felt strangely drawn to her. But they never stuck around her unless she was making a big commotion, so she never actually had any friends. Her ability took fruition one day during class, when she encountered a male staff was getting scarily violent with her Arts teacher. She winced from behind the closed doors and shut her eyes until she heard muffled crooning and saw that a spoiled mess of a humanoid being was parrying off the male, choking him until his arms molted off. Until she had physically opened her eyes and it disappeared, like some apparition. He was still gasping for air and had prominent contusions on his neck, but the female teacher had long since ran out the back exit. This had spurred on her eventual, growing discomfort around men, also with the lack of male figures in her life from girlhood to concurrently. Unexpectedly, she was a quiet child. But she was still just as excruciatingly unbearable as a loudmouthed problem child was and the teachers could never obtain the iron grip they needed to handle her and continuous meetings between the school and her mother were as fruitless from the start. Although, the kids all admired her spontaneity and how eccentric she was and she loved them all too. But she was ruled as a bad influence and was forced to move into another school until she eventually became home-schooled by her auntie, since her mother never had a strong foundation of education either and worked 3 jobs to uphold their middle-average class. When the time came for Vatsana to properly build a core foundation for herself, they were all reluctant and saddened to see her go. She packed up her bags, took a plane to some unknown pit-stop, and backpacked all the way until her arrival at Port City where she managed to do street magic with the thanks of her ability and reached a summit of absolute beaucoup money. She figured, she had overstayed her welcome, until a stranger had witnessed and saw through her operation of combined charismatic parlance, and her Ability.
SAMPLE WRITING. A woman, too thinly and too shadily snoops herself into a maroon apartment complex accented with a white plaster. Winter-tide presses against her cheeks, nipping at them until a shade too rosy that clashes with her tanned complexion. A stark contract that collides too brashly in a sea of ashen fields. She’s worn down from the eventful day and feels as if she could cough out nothing but dust all night long like an exhaust pipe. She does all but ceremoniously plop down onto her sofa, instantly comforted by the plush cushions that has since then lost its old buoyancy since the last time Vatsana’s mother would bounce her on her knobby knees when she was just a wee baby. But not all girls stay complete and not all sanctuaries are kept from being slaughtered. But sleep could not do nothing to appease her but solely lick at her wounds with salt on its tongue. She’s every lost definition of dreary / weary / and wary. Which is the very opposite of her very essence. She finds that she misses home. Her mom. The frangible wheat-fields she sought solace in and every hole, big and small, that she would sculpt herself into because she feels homely and undeniably connected to some unearthly beings. ( Rotters? The Rotters? Her Rotters? ) She’s stuck in a core crux of this pendulum– wanting to enjoy her ability but not being able to. It’s cool, in theory. And it’s useful, she’s told. But she never remembers the fine grains of it and she’s irrationally afraid she’ll soon never remember she even can concoct this ability up because it always feels like months to years since she’s used them. She could never– can never remember. She finally sleeps. She hopes that she never remembers this night and these worries.

1-10!!!
1. What OC has the biggest family? How do they get along?
so far, it’s saroyan who has the largest family... being the eldest of four siblings and has a doting father named markus. unfortunately he lost his mother several years ago... and since has upheld a majority of her responsibilities, so markus isn’t the only one to shoulder the burden.
2. What OC has/is a mentor?
several of mine do! but in particular, zhen is like a mentor/father figure to xavier. before he brought xavier into his care, they were an unruly troublemaker that started street brawls and indulged in other poor habits. however, zhen has since helped them develop as a person, to appreciate the little things and not allow their resentment towards this world, albeit cruel, fester beyond salvation. zhen, having lost his own child, is extremely attached to xavier and wants only the best for them.
3. What OC has a huge group of friends?
despite xavier’s “bad” reputation, they’re surprisingly popular... after all, they’re incredibly easy to get along with & their humor is priceless. in particular, yuri, lawrence, yun-ho, mila, lanfen, wren, and several others make up their main friend group. wren is the newest addition, having even befriended the kingdom’s prince.
4. What OC has a small, close group of friends?
on the other hand, apollo, being the exact opposite of their s/o... doesn’t have many friends himself. regardless of his popularity as a renowned detective, he doesn’t fully know how to express himself. therefore, he’s very reserved and only puts on a polite smile for the audience. however, xavier is undoubtedly his sincerest friend (and also, his lover)... and he’s close with a few of his colleagues too, like daichi and ji-tae. oh, and there’s also gwendolyn, who he’s known since their school days. his uh... first love, too.
5. What OC has, like, one friend?
emmett’s only friend is garin, who is also his boyfriend... honestly... mood. but at least he has someone, right? he just isn’t very well-liked for a variety of reasons. poor guy.
6. What OC is the Mom Friend?
gwendolyn... she’ll willingly adopt anyone, anytime, anywhere. she’s so loving and kindhearted, people believe she’s actually an angel in disguise. mila can also be a mom friend at times, but she’s more like the rebellious wine mom who will sometimes speak up on xavier’s recklessness. most of the time, she’ll get wound up in their shenanigans, though.
7. What OC really needs the Mom Friend around?
xavier, since they’re a troublemaker... but unfortunately their mom friend doesn’t do her job half the time. mila wholeheartedly worries for them, but she’s also a rebel at heart and can’t help but seek enjoyment from their shenanigans.
8. Which OCs are an old married couple (literally or figuratively)?
faust and valentin... they argue like an old married couple, anyways. but their love is geninue as it comes, just... with a few, minor differences. major differences. opposites attract to the max.
9. What is your favorite platonic relationship between your OCs?
at the moment, it’s xavier and emmett’s relationship because emmett does not want friends, at all, but regardless they’re trying to get him out of his shell. even if emmett acts annoyed with it, he’s secretly grateful that xavier hasn’t given up on him. it’s very precious.
10. What is your favorite familial relationship between your OCs?
honestly? the love xavier’s group all feel toward one another is just... so beautiful. they would, without hesitation, lay down their lives for each other. they’re just... the embodiment of the “found family” troupe and i adore it. i adore all of them.
