let me just preface this again, because I don’t want that anyone reading this gets the wrong idea about it. these are ships I can easily see for Astarion, because of similarities or just the way a story and character can twist around. this however doesn’t mean that I will definitely ship with any of these characters. in roleplay chemistry between the characters is important and sometimes it just might not be there. don’t think that just because the characters are listed here, that I will immediately be up for it with anyone. also don’t think that these are the only characters i’d ever ship with. just don’t assume anything tbh. thank you.

𝐎𝐍𝐄 - 𝐌𝐂 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐧

the way the game’s story is told so far i am all here for the weaving of a romance between the main character and astarion. obviously that would also depend on how the mc would treat him, but there is a lot of possibility there where we can (hopefully) influence astarion to lean more one way than the other.

𝐓𝐖𝐎 - 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐧

i have my gripes with shadowheart as she’s currently in early access a showhopper and stealer, which i hope they’ll change once the game is out and we’ll be able to see everyone’s commentary to stuff that happens ingame. but i absolutely love the potential her story has. i won’t go too deep into spoilers but according to some datamined info, astarion and shadowheart do have more similarities than we first could see and that alone could make this ship so worthwile.

𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄 - 𝐖𝐲𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐧

it was the “i could have shown him how to be a hero” line that wyll says if you end up giving astarion to the hunter (how dare you if you do tho) that kinda cemented this for me. the whole potential between a hunter and its prey falling for eachother? the ingame flirting between the two that can sometimes trigger in party banter also helped.

𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐑 - 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐛 𝐖𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐧

it’s the similarities for me! like fuck have two characters that have similar story elements that sort of parallel eachother and i’m right there with ya. caleb and astarion are both tormented by what happened to them and while their torment was different and they do react differently to it, it’s the parallels that stand out to me. a ship between these two could help them come to terms with their past, or let them both explode even further and drag them down a forbidden path.

𝐅𝐈𝐕𝐄 - 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐧

i am biased because i just absolutely love jester and i also think from all of the mighty nein, she would definitely be the one that could get through to astarion. she wouldn’t let his attitude get to her (because she is way stronger than certain fandom sections make her out to be) and i do believe that she could empathize with the mask he wears. in addition astarion would definitely drag out her chaotic side more. for better or worse.

𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒:

Gale and Lae’zel ofc. also Kalach and Halsin. (and vampire muses in general tbh.)
