Roman Reigns x Reader x Jey Uso: Break The Rules For You, Pt. I

Author's Note: This is on Wattpad, however, I wanted to post it here too! Don't know why it took me so long to post this.

WARNING: Roman is an a**hole in this.

You smile at all the people around you as your husband introduces you to his colleagues and business partners. They were smiling in your face, but honestly, you couldn't care less. You wanted to be out of there. You just weren't in the mood to put up a facade for everyone at this stupid business dinner. You didn't even want to come, but then again you had no choice, not when it came to Joseph.

He held a tight grip around your waist, forbidding you to move more than an inch away from him. You slightly winced in pain as his fingers dug into your skin. You honestly didn't understand why he was being so overprotective. It wasn't like you were looking at any of the gentlemen here. You weren't allowed to.

That was rule number one.

No looking at another man. If even a man came around, you are to look at the floor. Never make direct eye contact......or else. Direct eye contact was considered flirting which Joseph would not tolerate. You were his and his only.

As everyone was talking, and laughing, you inwardly sighed, wanting nothing more than to go home and sleep. Yet here you were faking it for a bunch of your husband's business partners, just so he could get that promotion he'd been dying to get. You look over at your husband as he wows everyone in his expensive suit and charming smile.

Joseph was a man who took great pride in his appearance. He knew he was charming. He knew he was good-looking. He knew all the ladies wanted him. That's how it's always been with Mr. Anoa'i. He was born with a golden spoon up his ass. Coming from a strong family lineage had its perks. That's how you two crossed paths. His father Sika Anoa'i had come into your father's furniture store, demanding your father give him money that was owed to him.

You were only sixteen at the time, volunteering as a custodian for your father's store, so you didn't know much about the business. All you knew was that whenever the Anoa'i/Fatu family visited your father's store, it was never a good sign. Unfortunately, you ended up falling for Sika's undeniably handsome son Joseph Anoa'i who at the time was a schoolmate of yours. But you never made a move as you were too shy to ever talk to him. That was until you crossed paths again through his cousins whom you grew to become good friends. Little did you know what you'd get yourself into.......

"Joe, your wife is so beautiful! What's your name sweetie?" one of his female colleagues asked, smiling at you.

You look over at Joe as he slightly nods, giving you permission to speak.

Rule number two, don't speak unless spoken to.

"Introduce yourself, babe," he answered, a tight-lipped smile on his face.

Rule number three. Introduce yourself properly, and let everyone know you were his.

"Hello. I'm Joseph's wife. We've been together for over ten years... He's the love of my life, an amazing man he is. I'm so blessed to have him." you say, the words taste bitter as they leave your mouth.

You can't even count on your fingers how many times Joseph's made you rehearse those lines whenever someone asked about your identity. You swear you sounded like a robotic being every time you said it.

You weren't allowed to introduce yourself by name, he didn't want people to know your name. He felt if they knew your name, the men would try to flirt with you or memorize you. He felt if they knew your name and you did anything out of character, it might tarnish his reputation or image. And he was a man that cared deeply about his and his family's reputation. And as his wife, you should care just as must.

You were only able to introduce yourself as Joseph's wife. That's mostly what everyone knew you as. No one really knew you as anyone but "Joseph's wife". Whenever you went out in public and someone familiar saw you, "Hey Joseph's wife! How are you?" was all you would hear. As annoying as it was, you couldn't complain about it. If it's one thing that annoyed Joseph, it was anyone complaining too much.

"Aww, that's so sweet! Joseph, she's a beauty! And she's loyal, I see. You know how to pick them, don't you." one of Joseph's close friends, Colby grinned, nudging his friend slightly.

"Of course. I knew she was the one when I met her," he answered, kissing you softly.

You wanted so much to smack him in the face, but you couldn't. That would surely embarrass him.

Rule number four. Don't embarrass him whether in public or in private.

If you did, you'd be in a hell of a lot of trouble. He always got what he wanted. So, what was the point in fighting him anymore?

You kissed him back, putting on quite the show for everyone as they gawked at the "lovely couple". Well, all except one of Joseph's friends who just so happened to be his cousin as well......Joshua Fatu.

He knew the truth. You weren't fooling anyone. At least, not him. He clenched his jaw seeing Joseph kiss you, knowing you were inwardly suffering. His jaw clenched at the seemingly tight grip his cousin had on your waist, going unnoticed by everyone but him. He was very observant, and he could see the way you flinched whenever his cousin would hold you. He'd see the way you'd slightly flinch whenever his cousin raised his hand to caress your face. It was all an act. A stupid act. He knew the truth.

However, there was nothing he could do about it. You were the one that chose to be with Joseph instead of him. You were the one who rejected him to date the most popular guy in school, Joseph Anoa'i. Yes, throughout school, Joshua Fatu, or Jey as most knew him, was known as the nerdy guy, but he didn't care. You were a nerd too, which was something you two bonded over, becoming great friends. You two even bonded over the fact that you both worked at furniture stores. With you working at your father's and him working alongside his twin brother at their uncle Edward's furniture store.

However, all of that changed when he introduced you to his cousin. He never thought in a million years Joseph would've taken a liking to you, but then again he knew if Joseph wanted you, he'd have you. That's how it's always been. Joseph got everything and anything he wanted in life, girls, cars, money, literally everything.

For as long as he and Joseph have known each other, it's always been his girlfriends leaving him for Joseph. His first girlfriend had slept with Joseph and gotten pregnant. What hurt worse was that he'd caught them, but Joseph made up an excuse that the girl was no good for him anyway and that it was "bros before hoes". As much as that hurt Jey, Joseph was his cousin, his blood, his family, someone he'd grown up with, so he couldn't disown him.

Yet, the toxic pattern continued. Any girl Jey even thought he'd have a chance with Joseph took them, slept with them, and dumped them like trash. So, what did he do? He gave up on love. Or at least that was until you came along. You weren't popular like all the other girls he'd dated, so he assumed you'd be different. But boy was he wrong.

Technically, you two never dated, but he thought that you'd felt the spark he felt with you. But of course, Joseph's charms won you over. He regretted ever introducing you to his cousin as it turned out to be his biggest downfall. Now, he had to sit back and watch you be with a man that was undeserving of you. You were too good for an asshole like Joseph Anoa'i. But again, you chose Joseph over him. He'd thought that stupid proposal of his would prove to you that he loved you, but apparently, Joseph beat him to it.

He was so embarrassed when he pulled out the ring only to see one already occupying your finger. It broke his heart in two, but he couldn't do anything about it. Joseph was his family, and you were his best friend, and clearly, you didn't love him the way he loved you. He'd always heard horror stories about unrequited love, but never did he think he'd be in that position to say the woman he fell in love with fell in love with another man.

Fast forward, and he was left watching, teary-eyed, as you walked down the aisle, preparing to give your life to his cousin. You looked so beautiful in your white dress, smiling so brightly, looking perfect. His twin brother, Jonathan, had to hold him up to keep him from fainting at the sound of you and Joseph exchanging vows. Oh, how he'd wished he'd been the one you'd married. But he wasn't.

It wasn't until after you married Joseph that the fairytale relationship came to an end. He started becoming more and more abusive towards you. You didn't understand why though. You were a faithful woman. You loved him to death. You'd do anything for him. Yet, he treated you like crap. He started coming up with all of these rules you had to follow. At first, you didn't take his rules seriously, thinking he was just being a jealous/protective husband. But he wasn't. It wasn't until he hit you for the first time that you'd taken his rules seriously.

Ever since then, it's been the same routine. Follow his rules and don't get punished. Disobey his rules and get punished. Simple as that. And let's just say, disobeying him was not worth it. He'd have you half dead if you disobeyed him. Jey can't even count how many times you've shown up at his door battered and bruised because of Joe.

Jey remembers how you once showed up at his door with a bruised face, but you refused to go to the hospital. Joseph had beaten you because a male colleague dropped you off at home because your car had messed up and you needed a way home.

Joe had refused to answer his phone because he was "too busy", so what else were you supposed to do? Even so, when you showed up in another man's car, he was furious.

You went to Jey's house and stayed there too afraid to go home. He told you to call the police, but you refused, so he took care of you the entire night. He stripped you of your clothing, placed you in a warm bath, and cleaned you off. Then he fed you (knowing Joe didn't let you eat that entire day). And lastly, he let you sleep next to him in his bed.

He was so angry with Joseph that day, so much so that when you fell asleep, he snuck out of his house and paid a visit to Joseph. He beat the crap out of Joe before returning to his home to cuddle with you.

However, that sweet moment didn't last long because you were gone the next morning to lie in the arms of your husband as he fed you stupid apologies of how he'd never hurt you again. Ever since then, he and Jey haven't been the best of cousins, but they still keep in touch. They must. They both run a family business.

And now here you are again, putting on a facade for everyone to believe you and Joe were "couple goals". Jey sighed heavily before excusing himself and walking over to grab a drink. He needed to ease his mind. Seeing you like this broke his heart in two and he swore years ago he'd stop caring about you, but the lie detector test determined.... that was a lie. His heart ached and yearned for you. And he just didn't understand it. Why couldn't he get over you?

"Hey Joe, I just bought my new lambo. I wanna show you." Jon Moxley, Joe's other best friend says excitedly.

Joe looked at you, up and down, a warning to not misbehave while he was gone.

"Of course. Let's go gentlemen. I'll be back, baby. Behave...." he whispered the last part in your ear, sending a chill down your spine.

"Yes...." you mumble, he quirked his eyebrow at you.

"What was that?" he states, slightly glaring at you.

"Yes...sir," you mumbled as he rolled his eyes before walking away with his friends.

You were standing there awkwardly watching as everyone enjoyed themselves, but then your eyes landed on Joshua. He was over by the drink table, looking gorgeous as usual. Joshua was a beautiful man. Inside and out.

He was minding his business,drinking his wine, until he noticed you staring at him. He shook his head,rolling his eyes before turning his back to you.

Ow.....

You felt a small lump form in your throat. Why was he being so rude? He didn't even greet you when you and Joe showed up to the party. You weren't sure but you were going to find out. You knew it was against the rules, but you were going to talk to him. It's been a minute since you two have chatted. Hopefully, Joe will stay occupied a bit longer.

You look around, making sure your husband is nowhere in sight. After the coast was clear, you hurried over to Jey, tapping him on his shoulder gently. He slowly turns around to look at you.

"Hello Jey," you say quietly.

"I'm sorry but, I thought you weren't allowed to talk to other men?" he said with a slight attitude.

You sigh heavily, shrugging your shoulders as you play with your trembling fingers. Ever since you've been with Joe, your body reacts in ways you were ashamed to admit. You'd catch yourself shaking sometimes just at the thought of making him mad. You could be at the store grocery shopping and you'd be a shaking mess at the realization of returning home to that devil.

"I just wanted to talk to you," you answer quietly, scratching the back of your neck as you continue to look at the marble floor.

"Ha, I see my cousin still got you trained to look down at the floor. How sad. You still believe you're his property." he says without humor.

"Jey please, there's no need to be rude. I-" he cuts you off.

"Save it, Y/n. You're not even supposed to be talking to me. Don't talk to me unless it's to finally tell me you've divorced that asshole you call your husband. Have a good night." he says before leaving just as Joe comes back into the building, immediately scanning the crowd for you. His eyes looked angry. Oh boy......

When he found you, you hurried back to him as he latched onto your waist like a leech.

"Where the hell were you?" he asked, jaw clenched.

"Getting us something to drink babe," you say, the two wine glasses in your hands that you grabbed on your way to him.

He nodded, taking one of the glasses from you. Gosh, you wish his glass was filled with poison.

"Come, I have more people to introduce you to," he says, grabbing your hand and leading you to meet more unimportant people.

You inwardly sigh as you see Jey settle at the piano that was in the near corner of the room. He was such a talented player when it came to instruments, something you loved about him. The man was a man of many talents.

He begins to play on the piano as he serenades the partygoers with Brian McKnight's "The Only One For Me". He looked so beautiful. So lovely. So majestic.

Oh, how you wish he were the one you were with...but he wasn't. You made that decision a long time ago, regretfully......
